Fair enough DC but I'm pretty sure that's the figure governments of bot persuasions have stated over the many years that this project was promoted.

I reckon if we build a new entertainment, training, community centre in Fishermans Bend/ Port Melbourne with its anticipated 800,00 new residents we could easily look at that membership.

There will be plenty of construction at Fishermans Bend. Would be a great place to build a new entertainment, sports, community centre. A boutique stadium for the Melbourne team.

I wonder if the umpires were overwhelmed by the sentiment that Melbourne after 57 years deserved this premiership more than the dogs who had had recent success. Plus the WA crowd who seemed to be more supportative of the Dees providing the necessary noise quotient to action. It did seem like we got the rub of the green and in my 60 years of following this is a very rare thing. Umpiring decisions no doubt change games. i know that on statistical data we are not always paid less frees but I have certainly seen games where the balance was achieved only long after the game was lost. Free kicks paid in critical situations almost always went against us. Not in the grand final. Perhaps the umpires also recognised we were an unstoppable force after the Geelong matches. I have after called for the club to have a conference with the umpires as we were obviously deficient in our style of play, our tackling was poor or our positioning poor when blatant errors were made. We had no backs and no necks, there was certainly no protection of our heads while soft infringements for the other side were recognised. I always remember an occasion where a Melbourne player wa tripped with no free, and in the same game a Melbourne player was penalised for an attempted trip. Our technique was so poor we could not even execute a trip? I think we even had a player reported for an attempted trip. i hope the umpires do not revert to the give the Dees nothing approach this year and just as importantly that the players take the umpires out of it by just getting on with the game.

Yeah but have you played the Beechworth sandscrapes?

Rowing n Nagambie, Sailing at Lakes Entrance or Yarrawonga, Horsham Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton, Wangaratta, Wodnga, Bairnsdale, Gippsland all regional centres that would become me a centre of excellence for a specific sport. No need for duplication and promote movement with careful scheduling. Country folklove live sports and will provide a great base audience.
-
Might be worth referencing to Jacko or any player when contemplating contract renewal or extension.
-
True there are some monstrosities in CBD also. No need for duplication . But build for potential return as Andrews has suggested. Regional facilities can allow utilisation for improved development within and across regions.
-
Hey it's a great opportunity to spread the economic benefits to regional areas. It results in improved facilities to develop the next Trac, Oliver etc. Not opposed to Tassie for same reasons but regional Vic has been smashed with fires, floods, pandemic and these events support tourism . This activity still funnels through and highlights Melbourne while stimulating interest in the regional delights. Just make sure all regions are recognised and no colour coded rooting. Wait. Perhaps we can use all the upgraded gun clubs etc Go for it Dan

Why Luke Dunstan came to Melbourne

Brick. As in brick ****house. -
I've been on for years that creating space and shepherding were two of the most significant attributes we were lacking . It is interesting that as selfless team play became more recognised attributes, improvements in the former happened. I notice the same lack in the AFLW side and wait for an awarness to correct the style

Better output from Zancker Paxman and Mithen will help. All three were quiet last week. Not sure if self or opposition related. The team needs to use the flexibility they have shown to overcome any diminished output from an individual. We still have the potential to be the best team and can beat any opposition if we structure appropriately and change patterns if any obvious difficulties. Coaching needs to respond by making appropriate moves to match up both defensively and offensively. it took too long to use Daisy in the forward line when Harris wabeing double teamed and channelled. Oppositions are getting more refined and we must adapt to that. -
A new facility at Fishermans Bend. Although from reports its likely to be Fsh Creek.
-
Thanks PF. youve taken training reports to another dimension. were you viewings from an elevated position? What security measures were in place. i do love the fact that there is training with intensity, that seems to me the realisation of requirements of premiers.

And also those of us in the country who will be unable to do the day trip. ovenighting can be difficult and expensive.

Happy Birthday i hope we win! -
Hey Pickett I now begin to understand why I have always enjoyed your contributions. intriduced to Camus at school age I have always nominated as an existentialist. I did adopt an interest in Chaos theory which nicely confused and satisfied me. Agree with you totally on the humbug of not only Chinese calendars but an array of beliefs, but I do reserve the right for healthy scepticism and a never ending search for infotrivia. i am of course much more satisfied with life now that I am recognised as a premier supporter

True. There's always complexity and individual circumstances but can be resolved amicably with good relations. That appears to be the case here. The best outcome will satisfy all parties.

I'm sure in your negotiations at any level you will admit it almost always is. The art of the compromise introduces the grey, but ultimately both parties have a point that they will not go beyond. (The black and the white). Honest and open relationships can establish these points early. The essential is that here is no surprise in the decision.

Jacko Trac Clarry???? Theres now a list of premiership players who are going to look very attractive to opposition teams, who will have salary space or other attractions. WA is a very atractive location and possibly cheaper with opportunities to get better return and n and nvestments. BUT if you want to be part of the most significant ccesful TEAM and be remembered far beyond your playing career you may have to make some sacrifices. Just look at Dangerfield who has a profile as an important ndividual but has failed to get that elusive flag he wanted. Yes he has a great life in Geelong back home and is more than comfortable but he has not achieved the ultimate prize that all players want. while the Premiership is the ultimate prize I am sure Swallow , Bowey and others will not be recognised as great until they are multiple winners over a long career. Jacko has only just begun and I am sure he is something special but so was Jesse Hogan. Good luck to the negotiators
