  1. I don't agree with this... Sparrow at the moment is pure inside, very one dimensional...I agree with 'McQueen' He can get to the player with the ball and at times first to the ball but it stops there. Nathan manages to get the ball moving.
  2. It's not just you 'Nelo'. I put him with the vacuous Cooney. You could sit and listen to both them for hours on end if you had time to waste and absolutely add nothing to your footy knowledge. I choose to turn both off. Must be buying the beers when Hutchy is around, can't think of how else they get a gig...
  3. Over a greater period of that time we were also the worst team in the comp. Things will change 'Bring-Back', have some faith mate.
  4. The home ground advantage to Geelong is overrated. They've had a very good team over the last decade and that coincides with their winning record. No surprise there. They also didn't play the bigger clubs there. ...and the talk of them not winning finals at the 'G' is also an overreaction by the experts. They've been good enough to get into finals but have been on a slow decline for a while now. It never hurt their premiership teams, they won anywhere. Now with Geelong in decline Kardinia Park will no longer be a bogey ground for opposition.
  5. Can't see Sydney making it. Also could see Geelong drop out this year, ageing stars at the end & the loss of Kelly... ...and unconvinced by Port.

Who else is a bit excited for tomorrow night? (Make sure your sound is on for this one.) Have absolutely no interest in this game...

That's called wishful thinking 'Bring-Back'... All supporters do it at this time of year. You see what's not there and ignore what is. You like to think you've picked up a bargain. How could Melbourne let him go? Let's see what they think after a couple of real games.

Kane has said he loves it...made great viewing. I'm not sure he admitted outright to being wrong but he thinks it's a great insight. Pity he want off half c...ed before seeing an episode.

We all see what we want to see. To me last years preseason games set the tone for the poor season ahead. Things didn't look right and that proved to be correct. This year, so far I like what I see. Let's knock over the Hawks and move on to season 2020 with confidence.
  10. Oliver is one of the best tacklers in our team...he lays them and sticks them.
  11. I really hope he doesn't compound his initial mistake with this. Needs to be Max as captain, no copping out with the co captain thing.
  12. He's one dimensional 'TGR'...a tough Captain like Selwood is renowned for his empathy with teammates. I'm pretty sure Hodge would be similar. Jack hasn't learned this, maybe he will, maybe he won't. ...he's also a very selfish player on the ground. I can understand why he didn't get the player vote. It was Goodwin's first mistake making the captains call on Viney. I hope he doesn't repeat it by making him co captain. Think how Mitchell was moved on for Hodge at Hawthorn and it didn't hurt them. Let him learn...and be a better more team oriented player.
  13. This doesn't surprise me... A bit of looking from the outside but also a little inside info. Jack is a very focussed individual, he might lack a bit of empathy and understanding. Wholistic leadership may not be a strong suit...

It sounds like the club have been feeding us BS on the May injury... From a cyst, a week off training, to a minor complication, a week off training. Now might not play first game or more. That tells me that 2nd week is more like 4 to 6.

In one way I'm happy we are short on representation (only Nev). We need our players working together as a team and it means they can play both of our practice games without compromise. ...but I do feel for Oliver. He deserves to get the honour and the jumper.
  16. We walked in 2018, if we're not in the mix this year then we've got problems.
  17. Don't worry about this time in 2016. In the 2016 finals the Champion Data stats said they couldn't win it.
  18. Champion data said we had the best list coming into season 2019...how did that work out? We have a much better list this year but now they rate us in the bottom 3rd...How does that work? I wouldn't be basing my argument on Champion date stats...they're good at what they do but this is not it.

Same...like the body language he was talking about later in the episode, words, the spoken language around the group is really important. Sometimes people underrate the power of words...actions will follow if said and followed through with conviction.
  20. Mine to 'Red', love the way she goes about it. Hope she's in with us for the long haul...
  21. Same as the men's team...but WC and GWS. Hopefully the same result.

    It's much better than that...

You've got me all wrong. It's the supporters who think just making the 8 is good enough or putting in a good effort should be the pass. They're way off the mark. I'm judging the team and Goodwin on where they should be at this stage of the game. ...and that is top 4 and no less. If we don't get there then serious questions should be asked as we've now had long enough since Roos and PJ came on board to turn the ship around. Forget the win from adversity stuff, at this stage we should be up there as contenders with the Tiges, GWS and the like. I will be disappointed if we make the 8 win a couple of finals and drop out like we did in 2018. We've got to be better or it's a fail from me.

Not really...we're in effect coming from 4th. ...and with a much better list.

We have a markedly better list than we had in 2018. Last year was the outlier, you can't play above yourself but you can certainly play below. A list of factors conspired to give us season 2019. This is why I don't take into consideration this rubbish of only 5 wins, it's a big leap. It's actually not if we take the 14 wins plus a couple of finals from 2018 and build from there. We learn the lessons of 2019 and don't disregard them but we build on 2018. Top 4 is the pass mark for this season. Anything less is a fail...
