  1. I'll still go to the bbq if it's Hawks v Swans, but I won't be watching much of the game. Could not care less.
  2. I am dreaming, WJ. Why are you crushing my dreams?
  3. Exactly. It's like executing someone for suspected murder without trial and then feeling vindicated when they're found guilty. Witch hunt mentality. It's disgusting.
  4. [censored] I'm excited by this. Super impressed with that whole press conference and interview. What's so striking is the professionalism and the united message. We're almost unrecognisable. Where's Ron Burgundy? He must be bouncing off the walls! Busting out my finest rum & coke this evening.
  5. Well that was a waste of time looking up all his highlights and interviews on youtube.
  6. It was all part of his club history fetish. Honouring past numbers, wearing the blazers, that damn bugeler. It all just came across as ridiculous. So glad that guy's out of the picture now.
  7. Tell him he can wear number 31 and we'll give him his own blazer. Pfffffft... sike! He can wear number 54 until he earns a lower one.
  8. Dunno if you're a troll mate, but you are a [censored].
  9. Bizarre that the year we finished runners up we only had one player in the AA side. What're peoples general opinion on Woey? I wasn't following the footy much back then as a rebellious teenager, but he was my favourite player when I was paying attention.
  10. Re Goodwin and the supplements saga: http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/excrow-simon-goodwin-was-my-rock-during-the-supplements-scandal-says-essendon-skipper-jobe-watson/story-fnia3zb3-1226847454732
  11. Great article. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Doesn't look like a great time being 'Melbourne'. But I'm with Colin in liking that they're targeting a wider audience.
  13. Can't imagine Roosy would've signed on for another year if it was the board choosing his successor.
  14. The other difference is attitude. We were drafting kids with x-factor, but no drive to get the best out of themselves. Toumpas will be a great player because he won't let himself not be. I remember hearing Viney say he was hoping we'd pick up Toumpas as well, which is why I was stoked when we were a chance. Jack certainly won't have hard feelings about not selecting Ollie, dunno why you guys do. Edit: spelling.
  15. Would be disappointed to see the Toump go. He's got the right attitude and all the right attributes, just hasn't come together for him yet. Plus he's so damn likable. Would be like sacking Michael Palin.
  16. It makes more sense in the current footy climate to get your team competitive so you can be a realistic proposition for free agents. If we go for a long term rebuild for a premiership then all the senior players are just going to keep jumping ship looking for more premiership success and we'll be stuck with a bunch of kids with potential. We also won't be able to offer top dollar because we won't have the extra money kicking around from putting on a reasonably entertaining Friday night performance. It makes a lot more sense becoming a mid-tier team first than it used to.
  17. If he said where he wanted to go, no one else would pick him in the PSD. We're relying on Mitch wanting to make sure we're well compensated. ...if he leaves.
  18. If he leaves the club, I'll move to India and take up Buddhism. Walk around wearing a robe all day with no access to television. I'll stop short of saying I'll stop posting here though because I don't want to make sweeping statements.
  19. I think it's the lack of respect for the people involved that always bugs me about this sort of humour. Imagine I'm alone on this one.
  20. After further consideration, I'm retracting my "hell no" and replacing it with a "well, whatever"
