I heard that he was 50/50 to get the job.

Tweet @3AWisfootball: Jon Anderson tells 3AW Breakfast the #AFL is looking favourably towards giving Melbourne a priority pick. @RossAndJohn are staggered.

Great initiative. Hope they come back rested, revived, healthy and ready for 2014.

I think Ayres has been much maligned for his last year or so at the Crows where he's rumoured to have "lost the players". He's shown that he can coach at the next level and has been consistently successful for a long time at Port Melbourne. If he gets rid of the mullet he could be a chance for the Brisbane job.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
The Third Eye replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
There will be only one player infraction notice issued in the near future and ironically that will be against St. Kilda's Ahmed Saad who drank a milk shake containing a banned substance to which he tested positive. The poor bugger will be put out for two years like Wade Lees and one or two other VFL players. The Essendon players won't be dealt with until the final ASADA report comes out and that won't happen for a while. ASADA is now getting its teeth into the NRL and (we hope) will soon be interviewing Dank. Later still, it will look into some of the other AFL clubs involved like us.Let's not forget what WADA boss John Fahey said about it taking 2½ years in America to get to the point where charges were laid against Lance Armstrong and others. In any event, we'll be taken well past the trade & draft period which I think is going to be a disaster for Essendon. Who would take a Bellchambers, a Gumbleton or any other player from that club if there was the slightest chance that they might be found later to have been on the gear and then rubbed out for two years? -
I'm guessing here but would I be right in saying that LA Vuelta is the team that represents Los Angeles in the Lingerie Football League?

Alan Stockdale wants to be President

My reaction is that the picture's worth a thousand words. Sorry if I'm being ageist but we need people who are young, modern and vibrant and not someone who looks like he's straight out of Dad's Army. This would make us a laughing stock of the AFL if we're not that already. Bartlett for me at this stage. -
The guy's name is Tyson Gay. How could that possibly be censored? His attitude is diametrically opposite to that of Essendon and its players though.

Not enough credit given to Mark Neeld for engineering such a dramatic turn around in form after the cataclysm that was 186.

I always said we should have drafted Adelaide player Rory Sloane in the first place - Eye on the future, Adelaide may trade Sloane for high draft pick

Bump.

Rape is an insidious crime that affects innumerable victims and only a small percentage of perpetrators are brought to justice. That's the nature of the crime and the criminal justice system but if police officers have been involved in covering up such a crime then their own crime should be dealt with harshly. This is a story that hasn't gone away and has so many facets to it. The media will ensure that Milne will be a recurring headline and the Saints face a gigantic dilemma as to what to do with their player. Do they treat him differently to Lovett? And wasn't there another player involved in the shenanigans?

Beamer shows a bit of class....
The Third Eye replied to PartyTimeJohnny's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sure what Moloney expected from a new coach coming to the club. True, he was the reigning b & f but he had been involved in that night club incident and had also tried to leave the club at the end of the season. That to me already suggests he had a fractured relationship with the club and to expect special treatment and an easy entree to the captaincy in those circumstances would have been delusional. -
PRACTICE MATCH: CASEY SCORPIONS v PORT MELBOURNE
The Third Eye replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Now that Liam Jurrah has been acquitted, he's expressed the desire to return to play in the AFL in 2014 - Not guilty and Jurrah dreams of return to AFL. The article says that ... "The earliest he could get back into the AFL system is 2014 and he would need to be picked in the national or pre-season drafts for that to happen. The most likely path is to join a state league club and play well enough to demand attention in the draft." Liam has lots of issues in SA where all he's had has been heartbreak but he thrived for most of the time he was at Melbourne and mentored by RudeBoy. Would the club welcome him and encourage an association between Jurrah and Casey or would it treat him like Fev a couple of years back? -
Big night for the Demons. Essendon's big win against GWS means we automatically move up one place on the 2013 NAB Cup ladder. Onward and upward Dees!!!

Richard Hinds is not a bad journo but to echo the words of Caroline Wilson, he has no credibility in respect to the remarks he made about Jeff Kennett's appearance on Footy Classified last week. In the first instance because he's a workmate of the person Kennett replaced and in the second because Kennett is not just a retired politician but also because he's a former president of a major AFL club. Did Hinds not know this or is he hiding away from this fact in his haste to act as apologist for Wilson?

If we lost scumbags like McLean and Scully over this issue then it was well and truly worth the 500k and I would certainly be happy to kick some money into any fund to recoup the monetary loss for the club.
