The continuing saga of Melbourne's injury list - 2014
The Third Eye replied to alpha33's topic in Melbourne Demons
Kent is fronting VFL tribunal tonight on a rough conduct charge for 'tunneling' in Sunday's Casey Scorpions loss. Tunneling is a far more serious charge than effecting a bump so I'm tipping 10 weeks. -

... and Brett Lovett's son who isn't eligible for the draft till next year played for the Dandenong Stingrays a couple of weeks ago and was named in the best players. -
If anyone's wondering why there were no changes to Melbourne's selected team this week, then you might want to reflect on this report from one of the local papers down Casey way Out of their depth?

IIRC Watson's career in both games was short-lived. Anyone know why?

One would think so because that would be the best way to build on the benefits of whatever it was that got them so quickly into shape in the first place. -

And the fact that a number of younger Essendon players built up their bodies in a remarkably short period of time and two years later haven't lost the benefit of that development. -

Coincidentally, they're discussing the same question over at Saintsational Note the poster also takes about the program fast tracking player development so that it's not about the lasting power of the drugs but what they do at the implementation stage. -
Has the curse been broken?

A win today will do.

We have 9/22 different players this time around. You would think we'll perform better.

I really wanted us to get him with our second draft pick @ 40 but I'm glad now that we didn't get the chance. Jay Kennedy-Harris sounds good to me.

There's a theory that twice a year, every team has an absolute shocker with its kicking for goal and twice a year, every team has a day out with accurate kicking for goal. We've had the first of our bad kicking days.

Be thankful for small mercies - AFL cuts trade period by a week

Are you sure there was a former Demon playing for GWS? I thought Junior McDonald retired last year

If anyone wants to question the skills of our players they should look at the Carlton v North game being played ATM. Both teams pretty ordinary but North woeful today.

A few of the young drunken hoons who sat behind me last night would be right at home in the Giggle Palace. -

New coach Paul Roos shocked by Demons' scars
The Third Eye replied to Undeeterred's topic in Melbourne Demons
I didn't see much evidence for the proposition that the players were unfit and the fact that Roosy kept Misso on board suggests this is wrong. Also not sure about Neeld's "leadership". More a case of inability to stamp his authority on the group. -
General admission = $18.00 (adult) or Reserved seating = $28.00 (adult) plus a handling fee of up to $9.50 per order and a payment processing fee of up to 2.3% may apply. If it's a meaningless competition with no prize for the winner, why are they slugging the punters who want to go to the games with their families?

The use of "fair weather supporters" might be a bit misguided but I think I know what he means and I wouldn't be getting too carried away with the adulation of PJ just yet. Since he took up his appointment on May 1, 2013 we have won just the single game. If things don't work out well and we perform the way some of the pessimists around here are suggesting and we start losing money, fickle posters like WYL will be on him like a ton of bricks.
