Has the curse been broken?

A win today will do.

We have 9/22 different players this time around. You would think we'll perform better.

I really wanted us to get him with our second draft pick @ 40 but I'm glad now that we didn't get the chance. Jay Kennedy-Harris sounds good to me.

There's a theory that twice a year, every team has an absolute shocker with its kicking for goal and twice a year, every team has a day out with accurate kicking for goal. We've had the first of our bad kicking days.

Be thankful for small mercies - AFL cuts trade period by a week

Well done Davey Warner - history!!! They're going at T20 clip now ... amazing stuff.

Are you sure there was a former Demon playing for GWS? I thought Junior McDonald retired last year

If anyone wants to question the skills of our players they should look at the Carlton v North game being played ATM. Both teams pretty ordinary but North woeful today.

LUNA PARK FAMILY DAY - Sunday, 16 February, 2014
The Third Eye replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
A few of the young drunken hoons who sat behind me last night would be right at home in the Giggle Palace. -
I hope he hasn't croaked

New coach Paul Roos shocked by Demons' scars
The Third Eye replied to Undeeterred's topic in Melbourne Demons
I didn't see much evidence for the proposition that the players were unfit and the fact that Roosy kept Misso on board suggests this is wrong. Also not sure about Neeld's "leadership". More a case of inability to stamp his authority on the group. -
General admission = $18.00 (adult) or Reserved seating = $28.00 (adult) plus a handling fee of up to $9.50 per order and a payment processing fee of up to 2.3% may apply. If it's a meaningless competition with no prize for the winner, why are they slugging the punters who want to go to the games with their families?

The use of "fair weather supporters" might be a bit misguided but I think I know what he means and I wouldn't be getting too carried away with the adulation of PJ just yet. Since he took up his appointment on May 1, 2013 we have won just the single game. If things don't work out well and we perform the way some of the pessimists around here are suggesting and we start losing money, fickle posters like WYL will be on him like a ton of bricks.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
The Third Eye replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is so much politics and misinformation behind this. Robbo's recent effort in the HUN was appalling. -
How many days to the 2014 national draft Redleg?

New coach Paul Roos shocked by Demons' scars
The Third Eye replied to Undeeterred's topic in Melbourne Demons
True but your suggestion then is that the coach twiddles his thumbs and does nothing? -
Saw Foxtel Sports News last night had an item on GWS training and it was claimed that the usual suspect was training the house down. Reinforces the rumour I heard that a certain knee injury was embellished and played up as somewhat worse than it really was a few years ago to make it easier for a change of clubs at the end of the season.

Stone motherless and (almost) last
The Third Eye replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
And the coach would say that he's able to work more on the skills of the players which, after all, the lack of which together with a decent gameplan is what's held us back in the past few seasons. Demons hoping to turn up heat with midfielders This is where we will improve even if it doesn't happen overnight. -
Thanks to you posting the above, it's gone to the top of the pile again. If you want it to die, you're better off ignoring it, aren't you?

Can we please bring back the like button?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
The Third Eye replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
I take it the the MFC isn't planning on bringing Billy to Victoria for a year's preparation inside the club system like it did with Jack Viney a couple of years ago? -
Good to see discussion here is now back to matters of great importance to the world at large, like banana sculpture and not trivial stuff like footy and cricket.

I wasn't aware that Ellis landed such a prestigious position after leaving Melbourne in what was virtually disgrace after the lost tax bill fiasco. The stars must have aligned for him to get the position and he must have learned some lessons to stay there for this long. Anyone know what's happened with our other recent CEOs after leaving the club?

Training - Wednesday 18th December, 2013
The Third Eye replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Does anyone have an idea as to how many players we have in rehab at this time of year compared to last?
