  1. I like other Dees want to see more than articles and inferences, before making any judgement. The AFL nor our club are biting and providing running commentary. The Adelaide scenario was different there was an email found and that is common knowledge and reported as such. Don't for one minute think if there was some direct evidence it wouldn't have been reported by now. As another poster said Journo's love breaking a scoop and since this surfaced they will have been digging and digging but still nothing just rehashed versions of comments and we don't know the sources, nor do we know if the sources are providing first hand information or not. Players have made comments and not been named and their quotes may well have been twisted and reported out of context, (believe me I know I have spoken to reporters in my job watched the news and seen snippets of what they want). All players have been quoted to say we were never directed to go out and lose. I think a fair bit of poetic licence has occured with the players comments and we also know none of these players have been suggested as being in the room when these so called meetings occured. Now I am speaking hypothetically here but if there is a smoking gun (which I currently don't foresee) and something direct comes out than forget about the other clubs, if we have been caught grin and bare it, take your whack and move on. Once it is done either way we put it behind us, remember those who took great joy at kicking us while we were down and take whatver action we need. Legal if we are found to have done nothing outside the rules and other action can be taken even if we cop a whack. It's all very well for people to say they are journalists only doing their job, well I'm sorry but some of the stuff reported has been beyond that and in Wilson's case clearly spiteful. Sheehan has taken great pleasure to stick the knife in at any opportunity and to call himself a supporter of the club is a joke, he has his agenda and IMO should be refused membership at our club. This alleged time in our history pre dates Neeld and the current FD. I like the changes I see around the place and believe Neeld is laying the foundations for a strong culture. In regards to sponsors all we have to do is start winning, earn some decent timeslots with exposure and they will come. The move to a growing area of Casey should see us develop a new supporter base once we start putting results together over a period of time. However we wont see the growth in new supporters for a few years and until we maintain a decent few seasons. Anyway my rant out of the way for today.
  2. No sorry Wines or O'Rourke will be the player we take. From the highlight reels I have seen both look good but I am biased towards hard nuts so Wines is my pick. I want people to hate coming up against the Dees and know they have been in a game when they play us
  3. Good to see him remain in footy and develop under the best coach for the last 25 years. Always liked the guy as a Dee and a person. Hope it all works out well for him and will always be welcome back at the club. Personally whilst it would have been great to see him always remain with the club experiencing different surroundings will only benefit him in the long term. Best of luck Greeny
  4. It is like a harness you were to take some of the weight off impact, Freo have used one for a couple of years with their players who are coming back from injury, Big Sandy & Mundy are two I know of who used it and it helped with them maintaining some km's in the legs they would have otherwise been advised against doing
  5. I think he has a role Olisik and really liked the improvement I was seeing in him till he broke his leg in 2011. Personally I would not judge him yet but each to their own. I agree with Satyricon that best 30 is more appropriate were certain players are brought in to play roles against specific opposition
  6. Watched him playing for East Frei in WAFL, very lazy will not chase and apply pressure. Great when everything is going his way but lacks hunger. Not exactly Charles Atlas either
  7. Think back to how well they played the Scully card last year, which ended up with the picks equivalant to the Cats for Ablett Wait for the outcome before you comment, but then again you get no self gratification of twisting a knife at a time like this.
  8. If it's true then, lets not go there - Im trying to remain united To use the ailing president line defies logic I mean seriously think logically only the previous round we carried the number 37 with pride against Meth Coast. Stinks to me of hidden agenda from a group within/previously within or hoping to be within.
  9. Well that's it for me, now she has crossed the line. Pretty sure Chris and Jim were close. I appreciate the club must stay quiet for now, but Chris needs to pull her into line for this latest article iif it is a big play on words. If he is vindicated he needs to take this as far as he can, CW has left herself open to whatever comes her way now. Doing your job is one thing, but this is a disgrace
  10. Hat off to you Redleg, great, no brilliant post. My oldest son was 5 months old wearing a beanie, jumper and scarf the night we beat St Kilda in 2006. He has jumped ship to the filth but my 5 year old has stayed true and I've promised to take him to see the Dees in a final at the G. I can't wait to see my son smile the way I smiled when we beat the Dogs in 1987 I have never been happier with my beloved Dees We feel your pain, keep the faith brother
  11. I listened to SEN this morning and Denham was surprisingly subdued only spoke about it when pushed by KB, didn't really stick the knife in made a few comments that weren't as snide as usual but were directed toward the club needing strong leadership at the top (CEO) . Surprised very much by him
  12. Yes pretty clear Jim most of us nt getting involved with the battle of the boards and just want this other matter sorted before we move on and deal with other issues Agenda is one thing but these two make me Sick they are dogs of the highest order! and by the way I care about the players and supporters so no agenda from me
  13. Do me a favour drink it take some pills and head out to Port Philip Bay for a Swim
  14. My point is this has come from an article written by a journalist, nothing she says is gospel it is from a source. Allegedly 10 people were in a meeting, 4 have been recalled to be re-interviewed. The facts (unless you know different) are a meeting occured and team performance was discussed. You talk about testimonies being sworn, all proper investigations have these and declarations that are part and parcel. We have no transcripts to these interviews and dare I say neither does the media. Everything is hearsay especially the two players "we were never told to deliberatley lose" they assumed and felt it was due to players being played out of positions. That is not sufficient evidence to warrant sanctions for tanking neither is the other two witnesses saying a meeting occured. As I said in another post 10 people in that meeting will give differing accounts of what was said, it wont be intent to deceive it is just human perception of situations. The point of the meeting may have been to discuss the games left and winning not being the priorty, this does not justify sanctions, it is covered in list management. All 10 would be subject to cross examination and are not perjuring themselves by stating their perception of what occured. Let me finish by saying I have no allegance to any board member, I care about the MFC and it's supporters. Your posts infer the journalists are telling the entire truth and the Footy department and board are lying. Bailey may regret his actions that does not mean he was told to deliberatley lose it is a play on words, maybe he regrets not standing up and saying I want to win every game and will pick whoever I believe gives us the best chance to do so, he played WATTS when he wasn't ready to assist with a crowd for QB maybe he regrets that, why wouldn't he it set a losing culture and ended up with 186 and him losing his job So please don't drip feed info you have discussed them having sworn testimonies and if you know what exactly is in these testimonies please do the righty by the rest of the Dees supporters and enlighten us. And if you have an agenda state it My agenda is for the investigation to run it's course and be put to bed either way, so the club can move forward
  15. Thats great and do you not think there will be multiple testimonies from others saying it didn't occur. And I don't care about testimonies they are still open to cross examination in a court of law
  16. My thoughts exactly and for those who have no knowledge of the court system, with the seriousness of this matter and the fall out at stake, the media and others can jump up and down all they like but knowing or assuming and being able to prove are two vastly different things. Any AFL coach who thought an interview or coaches box was pressure, will have a serious wake up call being hammered on the stand by a QC in this matter. Mclean would be taken to the cleaners and his credibility as a witness would be shot to pieces
  17. Seriously less worried now, Caro's piece about players making a statement at 3/4 time of the Richmond game that they were still going to try and win, screams of absolute shyte. and give me strength please an unamed player - everyone knew, no worries so why has nothing come out FFS players talk it would have come out prior to misquoted comments from past players The integrity of the investigators is certainly at question with such a supposed leak
  18. I wouldn't worry to much AFL players have short memories, we just need to get things right on the field and things will move on. Off the field and if there is a cancer ( parodn the expression) festering these issues they need to be dealt with quickly
  19. It's people like you who lurk behind the scenes who have an agenda with the current administration and undermine things. The same type who are feeding the media with tainted versions of events which fester and affect the stability of the board and the club as a whole. We are meant to be united at times like this, seriously do us all a favour and F-off I will gladly but two extra memberships in 2012 to make up for your loss. If you are a supporter as opposed to a troll we are better off without you
  20. Just my take on it Demonlanders and no inside knowledge of any kind, but looking at this from an investigators background Adrian ANDERSON & DEMETRIOU in response to Mcleans comments re-opening the tanking saga Look this keep rearing it's head with every comment or inference relating to tanking of draft picks We need to conduct a thorough investigation and put the matter to bed once and for all so we can move on The investigator Reviews the available evidence/allegations and forms an investigation plan with numerous avenues of inquiry You obtain lists of witness who must be interviewed You interview all these witnesses and put various questions to them about their role and in what forum they discussed performance and meeting KPI'S You establish the FD has meetings every so often to ascertain where they are and how they can move forward You have further avenues of inquiry to interview every person who was at those meetings, thereby identifying further witnesses You ask questions about each and every meeting and who was present At some stage common knowledge all clubs out of the finals race do it FD'S hold meetings with boards to look to the following season and what they should do for the rest of the season. During that meeting the following matters are discussed Dean Bailey look we are on a certain amount of wins and I have two choices we keep playing our best side and win this many more games we move up the ladder but can't make finals Board put forward look Dean we can't make the finals but are looking toward the future so lets start focussing on 2010 Bailey wants to win he is a coach so he may ask for assurances on his position The board says Dean if we could make the finals I agree with playing players under duress until we are mathematically out of the hunt, don't worry about you position play the kids for now winning is not the most important thing, we must focus on 2010 and however you perform for the rest of the season will have no bearing on your coaching future Okay so you assure me that if I play the kids and try players in different positions and we lose all our games my position is not under threat Board - whilst it wouldn't look good on the bright side we will get the first two picks in the draft, so you do what you have to do If you are the investigator and you interview 4 people and establish this you now have to interview every one who sat in that meeting and establish what was said. I can tell you from experience I have interviewed people for numerous incidents and if you have 10 people who witnessed the crime all 10 will give you a differing account. Some points will be the same but every account will be different. IMO and it is just that, this is where we are currently at The AFL want to put this to bed once and for all. Some kind of meeting was held and everyone present needs to be interviewed and establish what exactly transpired. So I believe Clothier is following further avenues of inquiry and Caro may have touched base with a source for any update on the investigation and been told they have established a meeting took place because 4 witnesses have told them there was a meeting. Caro has written her story with a bit of poetic licence and we have this story today. It is also my experience these matters take a fair bit of time to investigate review and complete your report so will still be some time However the AFL is on a knifes edge here because Massive implications effectively into match fixing Bailey if he deliberately went out to lose and anyone else is open to Criminal Charges as it is tantamount to Fraud - "Causing a detriment by Deceit" Detriment is to the punters who bet on games and the deceit is not trying to win Bailey and any other FD, coaching staff who participated in this is out of the game for good If we are talking match fixing we wont be the only ones hit, the media and other will demand a Commission into the Kruezar Cup and other games in question In closing everyone potting the club for making no comment, Good decision best form of defence is built around the disclosure of the prosecution case, review their evidence and pull it apart piece by piece. Sit tight brace yourself for more stories as they will dig and dig, Denham will be like the court jester tomorrow and we will get more kicks. At this stage think Pick 4 and others are safe for 2012
  21. Sorry Weedon is average (that is being generous) and lacks any application, hunger or will to get to a contest. Hawklsey who others have suggested has on my mail apparently agreed to terms with Peel Thunder to play in the WAFL next season
  22. Good post, but as you would be aware lots of agenda's and haters going to continue hating. As many have said we are easy prey at the moment and earlier in 2012 Caro targetted James Brayshaw and often let her contempt cloud her judgement. Once the Roos put wins together all the bad news stories went away and everything was about the on field performance of an up an coming team. Once we put some wins together and become competative week in week out, another club will become cannon fodder and IMO that will be the Doggies
  23. Jesus no, very soft and lacks hunger, could be wrong but seen planty of him at WAFL level and even struggled at that level in games where the intensity was lifted. There is a reason he has been delisted by two clubs Joins the long line of players with plenty of size and talent but lacks the hunger and desire carbon copy of Andrew McDougall!
  24. Not good enough for AFL level IMO, very good tank and runs hard but his disposal is poor don't beieve he can take the step up, better options are Luke Blackwell, Mark Hutchings, Shane Nelson
