He is no better than what we already have, in fact I would say he is worse than most of our list. His superior fitness sees him get high possession counts when he plays for Perth(Demons) but he turns the ball over as he has terrible disposal and decision making is some of the worst I have seen. Big no from me

I last saw Garlett play in the elimination final against East Perth two weeks ago and TBH I wasn't overly happy with him. He kicked 3 goals and started well but seemed to lack intensity when the game lifted a notch. To be fair to Garlett, Swans big forward Geappan went down early which affected Swans ability to hold the ball inside 50 as East Perth rebounded very well. Embley provided a contest in the forward 50 when Geappan went down but really after that Garlett didn't provide to much around the contests but hard to judge him on this game. When he had the ball he did the right things and as expected all disposals by foot were perfectly weighted. I know he is not the type of player to do this but given the strides he has taken this season I would have thought with the sides season on the line he should have put his hand up and found his own ball and provided more. I wouldn't hold this game against him, it is to be noted he failed to meet the lift in intensity over the 4 quarters but due to circumstances on the day some of this was out of his hands. For me he is worth a risk this year but I would take midfielders with our first and second pick and PP if we get it. If he is there with our third take him. Roos and the Footy Dept have forgotten more than I will every know about footy and if they have faith they may take the gamble on him with second round pick because there is plenty to work with. He does not have Lewis Jetta's speed but he is better skilled by foot and on a smaller scale Garlett's improvement in attitude and overall fitness this season to last is similar to that of Lewis Jetta from 2011 to 2012. Best of luck to Dayle in the AFL he has been consistent all year and I hope for his and the sake of all footy fans he continues to take steps forward and improve

Any chance we'll see Liam Jurrah again?
Pennant St Dee replied to PaulRB's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep pretty much my feelings on the situation, bad pipe dream call by the footy dept at the time -
Not just this season he stepped up well in 2012 and maintained his good form into this season

Absolutely not, should not have taken him the first time, nothing against Liam and good luck to him in his life but he does not have the desire or hunger for this level of football. -
The Reverend not too well apparently
Pennant St Dee replied to beelzebub's topic in Melbourne Demons
All the best to Neale and all his close and extended family, hope all goes well for you Rev! -
Wasn't Atley also given (although sparingly) occasional stints rotating on the ball this season. Just didn't have the tank to do it regularly. If this correct would fit nicely with Roos game plan of having run off half back in the Kennelly/Shaw/Malceski style and an ability to develop a tank with occasional runs through the middle. I have not heard anything of Atley being approached until reading this thread

Pies have made some room in their cap and big Mummy would be a good get for them for 3/4 years teaching Grundy & Witts the craft

Neither can/could Zac Dawson, Matt De Boer, Clint Jones, Rohan Jones or Steven Baker but they all give 100% and perform their role. Chris Mayne and Clancee Pearce had shocking disposal a couple of years ago which has improved with confidence but they have a high work ethic and solid attitude. Can't say I have witnessed it from afar but the same has also been said of Keiran Jack when he was first on the scene at the Swans his kicking was shocking. Bail & Nicho's work ethic is to their advantage
-
Get this through your head, Roos and other coaches of a similar ilk such as Lyon love players who run and have discipline to do abasic job which fits into the structure. One thing Nicho has is a tank which is to his advantage, players who can perform roles whilst getting occassional runs through the midfield as run with or just to give other mids a breather are a strong chance to at least be looked at or held over until after the trade period.

Why would GWS offer a lot of coin to Bellchambers and give up pick 10 for him. He is out of contract and if he is going there for the money he can walk through the PSD?

and Richmond what is Collingwood light or Dark they make it up as they go along we could wear red or our old royal blue jumper as the away side against Essendon, Richmond, carlton, port, Saints & meth coast, and wear our normal jumper against all other sides it really is not that difficult

IMO Simpson has done a good apprenticeship so far and has the ambition to be a senior coach, but IAH I will just trust Roos to know who and what he wants, never though 13 years ago Longmire would make a good coach but look how that turned out. Roos legacy I believe will go beyond the coaching he does in the next 2/3 years
-
Yes thats what I was getting at
-
Getting Roos has just made 2013 a better year than 1981, here's to mvoing forward still can't quite believe it
-
There has been no mention over here in the west in regard to Roos taking the Meth Coast gig, all we are hearing is Sumich if favourite. I think if they had any interest they either left it to late or the Brisbane and Perth scenarios with the family are drawbacks

Young Shanahan finished second in the BNF for WAFL Colts last night behind Jacob GREEN of East Freo by 6 votes having played around 4 or 5 games less.Well worth a look at finishing the season off strong, clearance machine last week for East Perth colts with 37 possessions finding his own ball. I know Lions & Roos are keen and been asking a lot of question. Kent won this award last year and slipped under the radar of a few clubs. East Perth Colts season is over and will see if he gets a call up for their Ressies or Seniors who are both in finals this weekend.

My mail is he is happy with the club, they did a lot for him when he was dealing with tough personal issues.

Mcqueen were you listening to 6PR last night when Brad Hardie and Karl Langdon were discussing Roos to Melbourne? I only caught the end of it last night as I was doing stuff around the house, but heard Brad Hardie trying to justify his wrong call he was spruiking about Roos to Lions. There was something about the Lions botching it as Roos had agreed but the bit I missed was something about family and a place at Melbourne Grammar changing things for Roos and that was the cause of the about face. I would called in had I heard exactly what Hardie had said because it is common knowledge the youngest child finishes school this year, but Hardie is not that smart and neither are most of the WA football public and they believe everything Hardie, Bell, Hagdorn and Langdon tell them.
-
Terlich was he not on the Swans list before being delisted, if injuries are the only thing holding Taggert back but the club thinks they have sorted that out then I would keep him
-
If your source is 6PR I think we can safely say Roos has signed with MFC
-
Jack Steven struggled at Saints for 2/3 years maybe 1 game in his first two years, granted Saints were fairly strong at the time, but with injuries maybe being a factor with Taggert if the footy dept see something he is more likely to be kept over those who have played and failed to deliver
-
Roos likes his players to have a tank and be able to run out games, he likes them to have discipline and do a job he asks no matter how simple it may seem and if everyone does what is asked the team achieves the goal and the player stays - This is a plus for Nicho and Bail

I'm Irish and left school at 15 for a reason, English has never been one of my strong points
