  1. Spend a week on Dland without reading "Time to go Mark Neeld" posts
  2. Viv Michie very highly rated at Freo and has been playing top quality football at WAFL level, is coming back from bad injury and they have nursed him back slowly( in a similar way to Taggert by us) so highly do they rate him
  3. Sorry Stuie got distracted with the kids while typing but I think you finished my post for me, I meant to add he (Watts) would be the link up player in this system/gameplan, what would also assist in this would be a second option of a player with great pace running into the hole provided by the forward leading up to the wing. We have Blease but need another 1 or 2 in the squad. Anyone know Rohans contract status
  4. I attended my first Dees game for the year live last week and saw Dawes lead well with purpose and on a few occasions mark it 60/70m from goal but had to take time to reassess with no big target to kick to. I thought if he and Clark were in the same side quick transition from half back to forward would be very realistic.
  5. He is, I think without using the exact words to spell it out, when after the GCS defeat Jackson in response to being asked would Neeld be sacked, he said No he will coach next week against Richmond. Hardly a glowing response or endorsement of trust or faith Neeld has to do something special to keep his job, those of you thinking he is doing irreparable damage are kidding yourself, history through the VFL & AFL tells us otherwise Players achieve nothing now by making a decision to move on in 2014 before the end of the year, If Neeld is to pull something special out of the fire obviously something special will have happened between him and the players If he moves on the players will wait to see who the new coach is before making a decision, we are not talking about GWS $6 million deals anywhere here
  6. Norm please take your sanity somewhere else, I thought Pies fans were lacking in intelligence but some on Demonland are giving them a run!
  7. Because people previously at the club and Jack himself have to carry a large portion of the blame for how it got to that stage
  8. At last some sanity prevailing The day of decent journos is long gone, it is no secret most of what they get is from club fan forums, Player agents are not stupid either and just play the game
  9. Yes it is wrong to ever wish for your team to lose, that is how the list management saga was born! I want to see the same level of effort brought by the players this week, one things for sure Freo will always bring effort I want intensity and dogged determination for every contest I want to see every Dees player walking off the field having left everything out there after having a red hot crack Whilst I want a win I want to see all of the above and continuous improvement each week
  10. That is not what he said Stuie and you know it
  11. The only one I have seen live is ACRES and I rate the kid, he would have captained WA had he not injured his shoulder, he finds his own footy and uses it okay but then again WAFL colts is hardly pressure cooker stuff so it is really only at finals time or senior exposure you can judge this. Will be a good pick up and think along the lines of a Vlastuin type who will play off a HBF before developing a tank and getting more rotations through the middle. From what I have seen via footage I like Billings and Aish looks to have silky skills and very good disposal
  12. Not a big one for the past but gave me the shits when SEN pregame was talking this Geeling side of 07-13 up as the greatest side of all time. The panelists all spoke about the Threepeat Brisbane side, the Hawks of 83-91 & the Pies team which won 4 in a row. At know stage was our side of the 50's & early 60's ever brought up.
  13. I read the article and suggest others do carefully. still 3years from realising their potential is what the article says. Nice little play on words by Jay Clark. 3+ the previous 2 is where that comes from. More than likely Jay didn't bother asking Neeld what he meant by realising their potential or quite possibly did ask but did not include the answer in his article. Neeld may have meant our potential was regularly competing withthe big contenders
  14. i thought this was an opinion site howe working tirelessly to draw his opponent away from the hole in front of dawes when he was leading. he prevented tiges going two up on dawes. when down back stood in the hole in front of vickery & riewoldt. was prepared to go 2nd/3rd man up when needed. garland beat his man made the decision several times to attack the loose ball and provide some rebound.
  15. 6.Terlich 5.Davey 4. N.Jones 3. Frawley 2. Garland 1. Magner Biggest positive was having to give a lot of thought to who got in Dawes Dunn Howe & Jamar all had good games and Sellar played his role well down back
  16. That was Barlow & Suban, not just 1 of them, or with the other clubs looking for a forward, possible scenarios Lions: 1 of Rockliff/Zorko/Rich/Redden & a kid like Polac Port: You'd like 1 of Wingard/Hartlett & another young player but maybe push your luck and request Wines and another kid or Wines and their first pick Dogs: Not sure would they offer you a Dalhaus & Smith or could you tempt them to trade Griffen before he becomes a free agent along with another kid or their first pick, they wont be far away from us in the pecking order so I think not much would be on offer from them All this is hypothetical, and things pan out as the season goes along but who knows Hawks may want a shot at a power forward if Buddy moves on, Cats may want one to give Hawkins a chop out, Carlton could do with one. Long way to go
  17. You wont get Fyfe, at best from Freo you will get Barlow and a young mid or another player who can rotate through eg: Suban
  18. I should clarify I was not sure when he was All Australian but I knew he was at some stage in his career and he was definitely one of their top players in 2001, held down CHB in their side which made the Prelim and went down narrowly to Essendon. Croad went either 2nd or 3rd in the draft not sure which but I know we had first pick and took Trapper and Ottens & Croad were also in the Top 3. There are teams who will give up players for a shot at Thomas Boyd in this years draft, Port, Lions, Freo, Dogs all in desperate need for a future Key forward, if we have Pick 1 or 2 there is a possibility they may offer a bit for the chance, not sure GWS would take him with pick 1 but you never know
  19. 2001 Trent Croad All Australian CHB traded to Fremantle along with Luke Mcpharlin for Pick number 1
  20. Dermot Brereton could have taken the words write out of my mouth this evening in pre game on SEN when he spoke of Cale Morton type players saying they are really pretty skilled players but they don't win you premierships, he said how when he was on the Hawks board and they planned he made a point of requesting nasty mongrel types to the club. It's the kind of player I have always liked these type of players and they never let you down and they hurt just like supporters
  21. Sylvia is a FA come seasons end so can't be traded, I would keep him as he surprisingly has been one who has not gone missing this year
  22. No unless you get in his ear right now and say your considering rookie listing him with certain conditions to be met through the rest of the season. Still against picking him up
  23. They all sound great according to the author, but when was the last time you read an honest write up, eg country kid who can only train two/three times a week due to travel constraints but shows a lot on game day and could really flourish in full time/professional environment. If this kid lived in the city and was able to train daily he would be going a lot higher in the draft - That would have been the honest assessment on Dean Kent I think a lot of the authors do little homework, Dom SHEED plays for Subiaco not Swans Districts for starters FCS. Pretty confident Barry Prendergast did most of his recruiting from these write ups and I hope Jason Taylor has brought the Collingwood professionalism to the club in this area
  24. Think again Demon WA, I will just leave it at that. He is and will be a waste of talent, the boy can play though.
