It wasn't just MFC it was 17 other clubs and take this as gospel, it was for good reason. Clubs do their homework and it wasn't the social media photo's that saw him being undrafted. I have seen him play many times this year and it's like watching a different player most the time. The jolt to him not getting drafted was probably the best thing that happened to him. I think North are the club into him the most or at least the most overt!

Pav was in prime condition for the finals as was Sandilands, they timed their run perfectly the Dockers, Fyfe took some quality clunks in the first quarter and had he nailed those the nerves end in front of goal for him. Pav stepped up in the 3rd but needed to do it early, Clarke usually provides a tall option in their forward line but like many other Freo players was like a rabbit in the headlights, Mayne went in under a cloud(back is my info) and played like it. Apparently Walters was carrying a PCL injury into the game Freo missed a golden opportunity and whilst they are a very good and well drilled side I wouldn't lock them in for GF next season, Cats will be there or thereabouts, Sydney will be stronger and fresher, Hawks may slide but will still be capable and there is always a bolter from the pack North, Carlton, Crows who knows all depends on trade and players stepping up. Freo may rue their stage fright, last roll of the dice next season for mine with Pav, Sandi, Mcpharlin and maybe Johnson. They do however have a fair amount of cash to throw around and will target a few big names in the years ahead. -
Seen him play for Peel and rate the kid, he would be break into a lot of midfields in the league but Freo's midfield is hard to get into, would be a good pick up for the right price.

We can also name many who have coached well at a second club Jeans, Barrassi, Malthouse at 3 wait and see at 4, Matthews, Lyon. So whilst I accept you say he maybe a good coach I tend to think it his structure and culture building for the future which will be the greatest strength. Oh and Robert Walls did a great job at cash strapped Roys in the early 80's before coaching Carlton to a flag and took Brisbane to their first finals series where they got closer to the Blues in 95 than anybody in the finals. Richmond for him was a step to far IMO.

You can't be serious or if you are please watch Ash Smith live, he is not up to AFL standard

A lot less hatred towards Freo at least their supporters are genuine footy people who understand the game. On Lyons game plan I really don't buy that it can't stand up. Bounced the wrong way against the Pies in 2010 when Milne was free running in. 2009 they kicked themselves out of it and Freo's players froze last week the game plan was just not executed the way it should have been and their kicking was terrible. -

I think that translates to he will not come cheap

Wouldn't say no to giving up Pick 2 and 20 for Shiel and Pick 10 Think that is fair rate Shiel very highly and whilst we would miss out on a Aish or other highly rated kid if we manage to get Pick 10 somebody will slip to that pick. Shiel is heading in the right direction and is about to step to the next level when you would be pushing to get him for pick 2 on it's own. I saw Swallow come through East Freo development squads and the kid has the tools to be an A grader and I would do similar to the above scenario for him if Suns are willing. He is like Shiel just about to step up to the next level. If you do the trade and get Shiel plus one of the other mids such as Kelly, Sheed, Bontempelli, Freeman, Crouch or others who I believe will slide that is very good for the MFC as would Swallow plus one of them 2 & 20 for Shiel, Adams & Pick 10 is to much in our favour and can't see GWS taking that

Can't be 100% certain but I actually recall hearing somewhere he was a Crows fan as a kid, I think one of his parents is from Adelaide!

Cant see it happening Olisik but I like the sound of it. Would be an excellent trade Possibly Rockliff and one of their boys who has already stated an intention to head home to Victoria would be something they would put out as an offer!
-
you got it in one, I can't believe others don't see through it. It's like reading the front page of the Beano!

Brent Prismall was the same if I recall correctly, didn't work out to well for him, Ben Jacobs from Port the same and hardly set the world on fire this season. Caddy finished the season strongly though. I am like you NSC whilst I understand they may not want to come, I dislike them for not even talking to us

I doubt it he was drafted from Perth Demons and played PSA Footy for Wesley College from South Perth, some decent AFL players went to that school, Buddy, Gardiner, Cousins, Coughlan, Jarrad Schofield off the top of my head

Freo by 9 points, MCG wider than Pattersons and Skilled but wet weather will help them out. Hawks will come out hard early and if Freo weather the early storm it's theirs. Matt De Boer as Norm Smith Medal with penty of hard earnt possessions and hight tackle count in a wet contest

Sorry Torpedo I am on record here and with other players I always take the meat and potatoes player over the Flash player. Jurrah was always a risk and it was always going to be a matter of time. The divide of players coming from the background Jurrah did is huge. I just wish Liam well in the rest of his life and hope the club learns from it.

Malthouse was contracted to Meth Coast for 2000 Bomba Thompson was contracted to the Cats for 2011

The Clarkson rumour has been floating around Perth for a month or so and I would not be surprised. Meth Coast are currently irrelevant in Perth and they don't like it. They will want to climb back up again as quick as possible

As I said on the Dayle Garlett thread I'm not sure if I would take him at 19, he has been really good this year and I compared his improvement from last season to this with attitude, improved body shape/fitness and effort to the improvements Lewis Jetta made from 2011 to 2012. Jetta has GARLETT marked for pace but Garlett's foot skills and disposal are exquisite. I will back Roos and the FD who know far more than I do if they have faith in their ability to improve his fitness enough for him to regulalrly rotate through the middle. Then take him at 19

THE DRAFT: TAC CUP FUTURE STARS ROLLING DRAFT

Someone from outside those 18 names will come in as a surprise so pretty confident in a decent young player from that list still being available for us at Pick 20 -
Great Day for the Red and the Blue
Pennant St Dee replied to 1 red eye 1 blue eye's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was there great win we went in as underdogs due to East Perth getting some seasoned Meth Coast players back and hitting some really good form late in the season. Hutchings won the Simpson for BOG, thought Shane Nelson was stiff not to get it had a really good game and certainly worth a look as a rookie. The game was very physical and the Cardies (I still refer to them as this) had the more run and were ferocious at the contest. Morton as expected was like a rabbit in the headlights with a very physical game and whilst Johnson and Lycett won most of the tap outs Kuenan did enough to make sure there was no easy clearances. Let me say nothing better than singing "Grand Old Flag" at the final siren of a Grand Final. -
I beg to differ with the right structure and if we manage to somehow snare or pick 1/2 A graders. Freo have a lot of average players rotating through their midfield who perform like robots as directed by Ross Lyon, they rely upon Fyfe, Barlow & Mundy to add the polish. All the players you mention above would get a game in the Freo midfield and be provided a specific role. As others have said we lack A graders and midfield depth
-
I have spoken to a few people over here(WA) who believe Sumich will get the gig, however there is also some talk about not ruling out Meth Coast making a play for Clarkson, depending on how the Hawks season ends IMO opinion I think we will end up with either Burns or Simpson as Roos understudy

I love it, I long for the day when we are no longer pitied by opposition supporters but hated and they whinge about our current changes which saw to us becoming a force again
