  1. I rate Burns as a coach, never rated Sumich and still don't. Woosha is a great motivator but Burns and Walsh are the tactical brains at the Eagles, he will be a good pick up for a club, not sure whether you would take him as over Eade, Choco, Laidley or any of the other experienced coaches for the job at Melbourne.
  2. I wouldn't say he fluked a flag, I think they were minor Premiers 3 times in 4 seasons between 2001-04, had a game plan which was found wanting a bit in finals, which he tweaked a bit to get the ultimate prize in 2004. He lost a few seasoned players from that side Wanganeen, N/S medallist Pickett, Hardwick, James, Francou, Wilson, Dew & Montgomery and managed to get a young average side to make a late run 3 years later (very similar to Dees 2000) only to be well and truly beaten in the 2007 GF by one all mighty team in Geelong!
  3. Until his 6 week exile in 2007 Stevie J was in my dislikes meter. It took the Cats leadership group to make him realise he was wasting his talent. I like Stevie J as a player and don't for one minute think he does not work extremely hard to run to space. Without going back through the old posts can you refresh me on Moloney?
  4. Without wanting to be deemed a racist I like your thinking but it didn't work for LJ & Wonna, I am going to watch Perth vs Swan Districts this Saturday and will actually try and make some notes of his contribution, which make it a lot easier than thinking back to what he did and didn't do.
  5. I may be wrong but I do not recall Mark Williams playing in the 1990 flag, pretty sure he was either at the Bears as a player or back in the SANFL at Port by then
  6. But that is how Roos got the Sydney gig and Wallace was left in limbo till the Tigers gig came up
  7. No worries, probably part of my up bringing and my sporting abilities all effort and no skill, but guys like LJ, Watts, Dayle Garlett, Mcdougall, Morton and others annoy the hell out of me. I know it takes all types and I'm biased but I'll go for guys with mongrel, high work rate and intensity over skill every time. I have always loved players like Todd Viney, Jimmy, Woey, Archer, Riccuito, Jude Bolton, Mitchell, Sewell, and now J.Selwood, Jack & Hannaberry
  8. Google Tallaght & Crumlin were I grew up, then tell me I'm a silver spooner!
  9. I disagree this must become something we rid the club of, I don't expect us to win every game, I expect improvement till that day comes but as part of our change in culture our players must think they need/want to win every game they play in. They must attack every contest, loose ball and hit every opponent like their lives depended on it. That is how the Swans think/train & Act
  10. Don't kid yourself I have seen him live not much has changed slight improvement but still needs to do a lot more, especially when he does not have the ball. One thing I will give him though he has improved off field but long way to go yet!
  11. I think we have a contender for someone smoking better stuff than Bangkok Demon!
  12. Of FFS, Jurrah ahead of Rockliff was a flawed mistake amongst others but because of his wow factor, Dees fans chose to forget this one! He lacked the workrate to make and consistency to make it at AFL level
  13. Sumich stayed at Meth Coast for so long because he was no threat to Worsfold! I will be kind by just saying I along with many others in WA football don't rate him!
  14. I said earlier on in the "Time to go Mark Neeld" thread, we should not limit ourselves to a former coach, yes I understand it is a big task and they call for experience but it does not mean another person could not do just as good a job. Woosha is not tactically gifted never has been and has an inability to change during games. Scotty Burns and Philip Walsh I understand are the tactical brains at Meth Coast. Good win comes with big wraps but so do all potential coaches. Alan Richardson has also been around a long time and been close a few times like Hinkley some say his time has passed but you never know Whatever we do we must have a panel who leave no stone unturned, take the time and get the process right. I am not decided either way on new or proven I just want what is best for the club
  15. Your right there Redleg, we went with the naturally gifted players as opposed to those who have mongrel and have had to work for everything they get. Makes a big difference when they step up to the big league
  16. Fitzy has been consistent and probably earned his spot now at the expense of Big Max who was down yesterday Strauss comes in for Terlich who will be a loss with his effort and attack on the ball Pedersen for Sellar because he is more mobile and should be given the job on Roughead IMO, Sellar was good against Richmond and it's only a change for match ups Rodan in for Bail who is clearly devoid of confidence and Ins: Fitzpatrick, Strauss & Pedersen Outs: Gawn, Terlich (Inj), Sellar & Bail
  17. My mail, which I'm assuming is what Iva's possibly alluding to is the decision to Move Neeld will be made early this week and he will coach his last game against the Hawks. Source has a 60/40 record so whether concrete or not we will see.
  18. Mckenzie (put effort in which is something a majority need to look at, his & Nicho's shortfalls would not stand out as much if some other players put the effort in neither of them are any worse than Matt DeBoer, Adam Selwood, Brad Dalziell or others on AFL lists who are surrounded by quality Mids) M.Jones Terlich he will be a big out if broken ribs confirmed Trengove N.Jones he is all heart and god he would be a great asset in a good side Howe a must keep for this club
  19. The club needs to sort itself out off the field in the next two years and show positive signs or we will lose this kid. And I promise you I'm serious!
  20. I think we need to cut him some slack BRFE, have a look at his assessment on this thread compared to his assessment re Hogan vs Danniher, both assessments appear to be polar opposites to me.
  21. Weren't you the one who quoted on another thread re the Dogs, where you slated our list, not to expect to much from Hogan because we can't develop kids! So don't expect to much but he is going to be better than Danniher who in your words will be a superstar.
  22. So did Phil Krakouer and boy could he play!
  23. I'd love to get hold of Shiel & Hannaberry to our club along with those we already have
  24. Blake Acres from WA is your Vlastuin type and will slide a little in the draft due to a shoulder injury ruling him out of the u/18 champs. He was to be WA captain and played last year as an under age player. Will go Top 30 and could fall to our second pick with a bit of luck
