  1. Dr G could not have put it better myself, one of my kids has jumped off and I would not blame the other one if he did, whilst I am in till death the tunnel seems to be getting longer with no end in site. Thank christ for the WAFL, top of the table clash tomorrow between Claremont (Tigers) & West Perth (Cardinals) it's the only way I have been able to hear the song this year
  2. I take it BH your starting to doubt, Neeld I may be wrong but I believed you were one who felt the changes he was making were necassary and would see us head into the right direction eventually. I'm not having a shot but after the start we have had I am starting to lose a bit of faith in him, not ready to show him the door as I always knew it would take time just didnt think we would come out this bad.
  3. Took the words out of my mouth Redleg, I will await the clubs reply!
  4. Was he somethingto do with the Bombers previously?
  5. Trenners has all the qualities of a good leader, I am a big fan of his, he is a very good footballer with great discipline. In my mind will be a gun midfielder in a couple of years, but having said all that I am also of the opinion that him being given the captaincy at such an early stage may have been premature. Despite the many knockers on this site Trenners is the least of the clubs worries
  6. You know the answer but the Premiership is forever tainted their supporters know it, Woosha and that dog Nisbett know it and they all hate it ever being brought up to this day. There is nothing they can ever do to change it
  7. I beg to differ they knew there was a problem with Cousins when Judge brought it to their attention in 2001, he was moved on. Worsfold has been quoted in Bens documentary saying they new there we serious problems with him in June 2006, they continued playing him, they won the flag but look how he ended up They chose glory over the health of one of their players & that is why they are hated in the west. They turfed him out when he became an embarrassment to them. Fletcher flat lined in Vegas in off season 2006.
  8. Pav wont last forever, but a kid with him for two years as a chop out may be what they need, however what are they prepared to give up as they rely so heavily on Mundy & Barlow from the middle
  9. 2001 Freo to Hawks in return for Luke Mcpharlin & Trent Croad Still talked about in WA to this day that they missed out on Judd and handed Meth Coast the final piece in their midfield jigsaw
  10. I think Bomber also had a year left on his contract at the Cats & I know Malthouse definitely did at Meth Coast, so if things aren't working out contracts mean nothing so never say never
  11. Clarko is signed till the end of 2014 http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/hawks-resign-clarkson-for-another-three-years-20110826-1jd7t.html
  12. Worst case scenario we finish bottom, which I honestly think wont happen but if we do Thomas BOYD will he remain Number 1, we don't need him but pretty sure Freo, Crows, Lions and Port would not say no to him. What do they wish to put on the table for the number 1 pick. You would want two players or 1 player and their first pick Freo - Barlow and their first pick Crows - Sloan & Mckay or Sloan + their first pick Lions - Rockliff or Rich and first pick Port - You wont get Hartlett or Wingard and so maybe say okay Wines + your first pick but at this rate he is heading up there to there untouchable basket Just scenarios thrown up but as I say I don't expect us to have pick 1 or 2 and hopefully we wont need to think about it
  13. + 1, over the years Biff I have been told by many argumentative blokes, I don't know why the guy just belted me for no reason at all
  14. HT what makes reading through that thread worse is I attended the Subiaco v East Perth game about 3 weeks ago. Sinclair was lead ruckman for Subi & Paul Johnson was East Perth's ruckman. Sinclair broke even with Johnson at centre bounces but similar to Jamar on the weekend, Sinclair was far more mobile and killed Johnson around the ground.
  15. I hear you C & B and this is where our lack of leadership hurts us most, if teams get a run on against Cats or Hawks up step Joel Selwood & Luke Hodge to either do something inspirational or make a move on field to stem the stide and take control of the game by slowing it down.
  16. Yes but we need to start winning our fair share of clearances out of the middle, to capitalise on our strength
  17. He's a Crows fan Don't worry about the go home factor, get our house in order and have him and Viney & Tumpas developing their current bond into a stronger one and it wont be an isue
  18. I am not kidding if you want to talk about selective memory, you can't use Milne without remembering Scarlett's toe poke in 2009. Saints could have went back to back, history is full of could of!
  19. You make your own luck Hardnut, Pies were a very good side in 2010/11 and were very unlucky not to go back to back. IMO we don't have nor have we ever had the cattle or the leadership to play the Geelong style. Pies game plan with a bit of tweaking will also work. There is no set in concrete formula
  20. No best available midfielder, but do your due dilligence and make sure he has some grunt in him and great work ethic
  21. Why can't we have all three when the time arrives, GWS did it with Scully & Freo did it with Lyon, this is a ruthless business and he wont be coming cheap if he continues the way he started. If he does we should be in his ear in the off season and start putting offers on the table before Port start offering him a new contract next season. Put the idea in the kids head fcuk being nice it gets you nowhere!
  22. Have to say I agree with you Redleg, from memory when Brereton got involved with the Hawks he set about them drafting a particular style of player and they all had to be hard at it players. I knew nothing about Cook so wont go into the Cook/Darling debate I watched Darling from a young age and also saw how dramatically he dropped off when he started playing seniors at West Perth, so I was not surprised he was looked over by a lot of clubs. But it is clear with the Watts, Morton, Bennell & Gysbert pick ups BP had absolutely no idea or a massive lack of investigative ability to establish if the players had a solid work ethic. Surely above Cook if we didn't want Darling there were much better obvious choices. I would assume he was trying to find a star which other recruiters were not aware of or more to the point other recruiters did not rate as highly as he did. I would assume we have addressed the problem by moving BP on and taking Taylor from Collingwood and this will take time, Taggert, Clark, Couch, Magner, Viney, Kent, Hogan seem to show the players Neeld likes. Toumpas goes against them a bit over Wines but I will cop that as we were getting Viney. Neeld has taken no prisoners with the way he has undertaken the dramatic change and it looks as it could cost him his job, but we really did need to start going down this road while Danniher was here and not leave it this late. I may be biased but in a choice of two always would go for the player with work ethic and/or nasty streak over a long term project player. Yes we have had a big problem with development but the recruiting was the major factor and the philosophy BP chose with talent over ethic is the reason we do not have Hurley, Dangerfield, Sloan, Hennebury, Shuey and either Tallia or Darling. Depresses me just typing it
  23. Lets learn from other early calls on 2 number 7 picks and rising star winners Daniel Rich Rhys Palmer Both have been passed by other midfielders taken in their drafts
  24. 6. N. Jones 5. Sylvia 4. Terlich 3. Viney 2. M.Jones 1. Bail
