He wasn't the only one. I saw a few phantoms with both ANB and OMac in the early 20's.
-
I was interested to see if Callum has any form with his previous phantom drafts. (He has) For anyone interested, here they are. 2014 2013 2012

There are a lot of people linking us to Oliver at 3. I still think we will take Parish.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM WEIDEMAN
BAMF replied to xman97's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm sure it was Dal Santo. I recall the days when Craig Cameron use to post on here back in 2003. Jeez we all use to love it! I also remember you 'Fan.' I'll always remember you by that name and that small avatar of Neale Danniher you had. I was a lurker in those days. -
You did say that you would cop flak. Are you surprised now that you have copped it?
-
He certainly has the competitive aspect that we are looking for.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOMAS BUGG
BAMF replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
Glad to pick him up. What a great day of trading from the club. Totally makes up for overpaying for Melksham! Now that we have Bugg, I would not be surprised if we traded Grimes for a pack of chips. -
How long does it take to develop a tall forward? How much does it cost to trade one in? How much longer do you want Dawes and Pedersen to be the solution? We need a long term option.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY

Welcome to the club Ben. Think we could have got more for Howe and paid too much for Melkshem. Hope I am proved wrong. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY

He isnt a small forward. He plays midfield at Vfl level and Buckley plays him as a small forward by Buckley when promoted to AFL level. This is why he is stagnating. Just because he is small doesnt mean he is a small forward. -
There would be no point in us keeping Grimes if we get Bugg. But it seems too good to be true that we could package him with a third rounder for Lennon. I dont understand why Lennon is even on the table to begin with. You would have thought that the tigers would have had a contract extension in front of him a long time ago.

I love it how everytime a player is remotly linked to us you have to go and look up their stats before you make an opinion. You really dont watch any games other than the one's featuring the demons do you? If you had watched the games Bastinac has played you would realise how stupid you sound comparing him to Jones.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
BAMF replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope this isnt true. I would have prefered using our 2nd round pick in the draft. A third round pick should have got it done. And if it didnt then we force him to the preseason draft. -
Kennedy isn't a small forward.
-
Yeah, didn't explain my point very well did I? Let me try again. We used pick 33 on How. If we traded him for a draft pick, I don't think a rival club would give up anything more than around 25-30ish. I would be disappointed that after 5 years Howes currency hasn't increased. As it is a weak draft, I would hope that we trade Howe as the steak knives component in a larger trade for an A-grader.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
BAMF replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
He doesnt 'get' the argument that we should be happy to pick Melksham up because he is better than Riley, Bail, Mckenzie, Terlich and Matt Jones. And he is right. The last two in particular have been given longer contracts than warranted and now we face the prospect of either paying them out or watch them play out the year at Casey. Now we are discussing giving Melksham a 4 year deal. Personally I think / hope that he would be playing out the last 2 years of his contract with Casey, which would be the same situation we are in now with Jones and Terls. Yes. He would be an upgrade on the players we have delisted. But how much? If you put numbered rankings on players out of 10 and had Bail and Mckenzie as 4, would you be happy that we have improved the list by picking up Melksham who is ranked 5? Yes the list has improved slightly. But its not worth getting too excited and not for a 4 year contract on good coin. -
We picked him up using pick 33. I don't think we would get much better for him now if traded. Hopefully he is used as steak knives to get a good deal done.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOMAS BUGG
BAMF replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
He wouldnt be an understudy to Jetta, he would comand his own place in our 22. Although he could play the small defender if Jetta is injured. He is pretty much a rich man's Jack Grimes. Better disposal, better speed, slightly better defensively. Eats steak. -
They will have a great shot of playing in the grand final next year. After that, they will lose a heap of players who are best 22. They really need to get rid of some deadwood off their list as well.

Melksham's best would be more damaging than Bugg's. But Bugg's average game is better. Plus Bugg is super consistant. He is not a guy who will go missing during games or seasons. Melksham goes missing all the time. Bugg is much better defensivly and I would not hesitate to sign him up for 4 years. Even if the majority of our youngsters improve, Bugg would still be able to slot into our best 22. Melksham would slot into our best 22 next year, but I would expect a number of kids to go flying past him by the third year of his contract.
