Lol! I watched this part on repeat many times and grinned. In the week leading up to the final Matthew Llyod said we would need to use Langdon to tag Bailey Smith as he was the only one who could keep up with him. It made me [censored] angry that the media had no [censored] idea. Why the [censored] would we waste Langdon like that? Had he not seen the games this year where teams would switch the play to avoid Langdons wing?
-
Pretty sure he just had the one older brother?
-
Surely you have blind faith in JT like the rest of us do at this point? They were tipped to go higher. They didn't. There is likely a reason for it. JT saw them on the board and said no. That's all I need to know.

Hello 2022 Third & Fourth Round Selections
BAMF replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Posted in another thread, but will repeat here. 2022 picks. Round 1 - 0 picks (Traded to Crows) Round 2 - 1 pick (Demons) Round 3 - 2 picks (Demons, Crows) Round 4 - 2 picks (Demons, Saints) -
Because Jason Taylor didn't rate them.
-
1st round - 0 (Traded to Adelaide) 2nd round - 1 (Our pick) 3rd round - 2 (Our pick and Adelaides) 4th round - 2 (Our pick and Saints)
-
I dont think we know yet. We were so heavily linked to Howes, that I would like to think that it was for him. Hopefully JT lets us know in a post draft interview.
-
Can you panic a little bit more please? Dont worry about the pick. We have one. The AFL coverage is rubbish. It doesnt bother updating the pick numbers.
-
You have as many picks as you have list spots. We still have one spot left. Therefore we still have a pick.
-
Do we know what the trade was? Were we using pick 39 along with another pick to move up to 35? Or were we just trying to get 35 to go with 39?
-
Not yet mate. Will likely use our last pick on him. (Or will we??!?!)
-
Nice. It should be an early third so should be around the same spot. Hopefully we can use it next year to a club needing points to combine our third rounders to move up.
-
Hell yes! The player we were linked to at pick 17.
-
Surely we take Howes.
-
I gave up on the Fox coverage a few years ago. At least Cal Twomey knows who the kids are. If you are frustrated then maybe check out the AFL.com.au coverage. Howes still on the board at pick 36.. feeling like i am going to be super disappointed here for him to get so close.
-
Any idea what our flexibility is here? I.e. if we get to pick 42 and Taj has not been bid on, are we free to use the pick on another kid? If so, what happens if another club bid on Taj after pick 50? There must be some point where they automatically get to be rookies?
-
A good year to have a bunch of picks in this range. Thinking that Richmond and Geelong could both use a young ruck which may make Conway out of our reach. Will be interested to see who will get with 38.

Hoping for Conway.

2021 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
BAMF replied to TRIGON's topic in Melbourne Demons
Is it wishful thinking to hope that Conway slides to our 2nd pick? -
Super happy that we have picked up a tall forward 😀

Is this write up about Brown or Wimot? Thanks for the inside word dazzle.

I heard it too. DeeSpencer pretty much had it covered. Taylor gave very little away. When questioned about pick 17 he said like normal they have got the players ranked and think there will be one or two players that he wants that would be available at the pick. He added that if they picked any one of these players he had in mind that he would be extremely happy. While I'm pretty sure he said "one or two" I got the impression he meant more than this. Mentioned that a conversation with Taj Woewodin had been had to say we will only match a bid at a certain point. I am guessing that Taylor has some other kids he is expecting to pick with our 2nd pick (37) and that we are expecting a bid after this to match with our third and final pick on the night.

Oh I totally agree. I'm just pointing out that we were very excited about Kobe and spoke about him a hell of a lot because his surname was Farmer and not for the level of talent he had. I am very happy to be picking up Woewodin. His stocks seem to have risen greatly over this year from a kid who would be a late pick/rookie to a captain of his club and a solid player.
-
He isn't considered a top player. A bid will likely come after pick 35 and more likely around the 45 mark. Kids predicted to go around this point get very little media attention. It's worth remembering that there will be about 45 kids who are currently rated better than him and to temper expectations. If he wasn't a father son then no one on here would be discussing him. Similar to what happened with Kobe Farmer last year. There was a thread devoted to him since he was 14 years old. As soon as Taylor made the call that he wasn't good enough we all moved on pretty quick to the other new shiny draftees we had picked up.
