  1. It sounds dumb. But he would be a pretty good fit down there. They are in for a world of pain. They need to rebuild and have no picks. If i were the list manager and had a magic wand, I would delist both Higgins and Dalhause and pick up Melksham for next to nothing. It would move on a bit of deadwood, improve the best 22 for 2022 and allow them a bit more time to prepare for the rebuild. Giving up 3 good picks for Cameron is going to look so stupid in a year or two. They gave up 15, 18 and 25. They could have brought in Connor Stone, Finlay Macrae, Max Holmes and Brayden Cook last year and be well into a rebuild already.
  2. It sounds like Taj has progressed well. At first he was going to be a late pick punt but it looks like we are picking up a good kid who has a good chance of developing into a good player.
  3. We need Casey players. We had a blessed run with injury this year and are cutting a lot of depth. Jones, Jetta, Vanders, Lockhart and potentially Melksham. All of them got a bit of game time this year and were ready if needed. I was happy that all these players were there for depth this year and likewise happy that we are moving them on now. The weird thing is that with Brayshaw, Harmes, Jordon and Sparrow all being best 22 (or 23) we are actually light on for inside bulls at Casey! We will also want to draft a young kpf and young ruck at some point soon.
  4. Spargo's position is probably the most suited, but he would be competing for other spots too. If Pickett gets injured then he could take his spot. Same with ANB. He would have Chandler ahead of him at this point for those spots too, but could take it from him. I don't have an issue with his height but I think it limits us from picking up any more small players unless they have super pace. Spargo, Bowey, Pickett, Chandler, Laurie.
  5. And so it begins. Our players will be lauded as Superstars. We will become the hunted. Everyone will want what we have and try to replicate our game plan. A simple one two hand pass between Petracca and Oliver will be called incredible by commentators. Salem will be lauded as the best kick in the league every time he gets the ball. Even when he missed one it will be a rare miss.
  6. Well done on a fine career Nev. I hope you stick around in some capacity.
  7. Disco Turner and Declase got picked up for that very reason didn't they? I hear good things about Disco but let's face it... if 2 of those players go down we are going to struggle to replace them.
  8. This was your opinion on this topic at this time last year too. I was looking forward to seeing how you would react this time (quite measured really). I'm not going to disagree with you. I thought he would be nearly the first one out the door. With Tmac and Brown being injury prone, it's not the worst option to keep him on. No way would we want to roll the dice on Declease when defending our title. If 2 of our key forwards Brown, Tmac or Weid go down then he will be needed. Leave Jacko playing his current role.
  9. Just can't see another club taking him. It must be frustrating for AFL players in this situation. Not good enough to break into the premiership team but too old for another club to pick him up.
  10. There is already a thread which started pre game and continued on post game. However the general vibe is that the majority of the doggies supporters were quite measured and it was in poor taste to gloat over them. It's all very well to have these threads when they have a chance of redemption or if we have a chance of failing at some point. It feels different when we are the clear winners.
  11. There were into each other too. Not sure if it was on caught on camera. Neither of them took a backwards step. I noticed a few of the boys giving a few extra push and shoves to Hannan too. I get the impression that he wasn't the most loved team mate.
  12. Weid did a lap of the ground to give the crowd high fives. I yelled out "stay with us Weid!" When he got to me he jumped and went "Whoo!" and gave me the biggest high five. No idea if there was anything to read into it or not. But he was a happy man for the team. Jetta also got a good reception, although he was more subdued than weid.
  13. I was at the ground. At half time I was alright, and thought we would be ok. The Johannison goal sucked the life out of the crowd around me and it really felt like the game was about to get away from us. The next few minutes were dire and even when Fritsch got his first of the third term you felt like we were just hanging on. From there we broke them. It was great to watch. Well done boys. Thanks Perth for being such awesome hosts.
  14. Petracca gave our bay a sneaky wink and raised his hand telling us to get loud. Best feeling going . We obliged
  15. Oh boy. I'm here. The johanison goal took the wind out of the Demons in the crowd. The fritsch goals were completely against the flow. Atmosphere was amazing post those two goals. Petracca and Sparrow goals were incredible.
  16. Great article Dr. Really nailed the feelings attached to being a Demon supporter for the past 20 years.
  17. Has MFCSS fully jumped into the general community or is the writer one of us? Either way. Kudos rpfc
  18. He is interviewed on 5he afl exchange podcasts and said the Demons marketing team had a few things to say. No cheese platers. No range rovers. No skis. Don't make the demon too red. He sounded a bit miffed by it.
  19. I enjoyed this. Disagreed with a few, but nothing major. Nice work.
