Think we'll all rue the Essendon loss all over again - think it will cost us a finals spot.
-
I love what Roos has done - but Northey was sensational.
-
Worst club to trade with - this will be interesting if he decides on Dees - just need to hold the line - we paid overs for Jake, they can take a little under value for Hibbert.

Jack Watts signs for three years (21/7/16)

Sensational bloke is our Jack -
Ordinary, Ordinary bloke...... Just ask Lethal Leigh, Paul Roos and now the Geelong Footy Club. Always has been and always will be all about Mitch......
-
Not his biggest fan, but Tom Mac has been sensational tonight. Let's hope he's not required much in last term.

Out :- O'Mac, Vanders, Bugg In :- Dunn, Brayshaw, Grimes

Greater Western Sydney (a dynasty to rival the Hawks)
Canplay replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
The whole GWS expansion (manipulation) puts me right off footy. Ever noticed that the AFL consistently retweet GWS tweets - so that if you follow AFL on twitter you pretty much can't help but follow GWS too...... makes me ill. Any GWS flag should have an asterix next to it. -
Absolute legend Jack. After all he's been through - still loyal, still keen to see success at Dee's & making re-signing sound simple. Pity T Mac & Co aren't made of the same stuff.

we went strong 18mths ago, but not sure we've thrown a lot at him this time. We have greater needs

I heard Liam Hullett was one of the 24 players taken to Alice. Is there a surprise debut on the cards?
-
Makes the 28 disposals at Casey on the weekend seem pretty impressive.
-
I wonder if the diamond defence plan was why they were so keen on Malkshem to come in - the half back that pushed up to provide extra midfield option and good engine to work back.

The writing is on the wall for Derek Hine at Collingwood. Gubby Allen is not back to run women's team and netball for long and Derek must surely be polishing up his CV. When Jason Taylor was at Pies the recruitment was spot on but has failed dramatically the last couple of years (although injury has played a part)..... coincidence.... I think not. This bloke is doing a cracking job - he should be the one we've got locked down on a water-tight long term contract. He gives you hope that although we don't have a first round pick in the draft he'll still find some cracking talent - a lot like Wells has done at Geelong over the years.

Out of all the factors discussed over the past 3-4 months, today is the first i've heard of his Dad being ill. Firstly, is this true? If so, in the politically correct world we live in, can I ask what actually is wrong with him and how serious is it? Because surely this will be the biggest factor in him not signing and why Langdon is saying he would go home at the end of 2016 if he could.
-
More than happy with no mention - sign we have improved and no longer headline news when we win - keeps the players feet on the ground too.
-
Two things stand out, 1. Leg speed. Keep thinking of lethal Mathews after the bombers game saying any side with good leg speed would beat or trouble Dee's. 2. Coaching. Everyone could see 3rd quarter coming, but nothing changed after half time - look clueless to clog up and defend saints fwd line,
-
Plays an important role and we're better when he plays. Will always be capable of a brain fade however
-
Petracca for Brayshaw Oliver for Hunt (Jones to half back)

I'm in agreement with this - danger of a poor performance written all over this week. I won't use any fancy Latin terms but instead call it "Media Street". I get concerned when after a good win there's a string of interviews with players pumping up each other's tyres - seen it too many times, including only a couple of weeks ago after GWS. After GWS I would have preferred the club to hold back players in media this week and just had Roosy controlling the message - it's felt like a few too many drinking their own bathwater.
-
Langdon does tend to get a lot right. First time I've been worried about this - but Scully situation turned out ok it in the end - and we'll get good value if he does want a move.....
-
Even if there was substance to this - we'd just do a Cronulla Sharks plead deal with backdated suspensions - no one would follow Bombers path ever again - and ASADA wouldn't want to be in Courts again. But jeez that Barrett is grub - was obviously bullied at school.....

Key difference is one reads the play better than most and one just watches and reacts to his opponent.
