One thing I am certain about Toump is that he gives 100% to try and be the best he can be. By now we know that he'll never be Ollie Wines but we have to move on and while he's giving 100% effort, get behind the kid, encourage him, no bronx cheers, and help him be the best he can be.

Can barely recall Lumumba winning a contest all year. Constantly sell team mates into trouble - yet Grimes starts as Sub - farken wrong.

Great interview, great game, great bloke. Could have easily walked 2 seasons ago, but wanted to stay and repay faith. If only Howe had same integrity.

I take some heart out of last quarter comeback - previous years would have thrown in the cards at three quarter time. For all his knockers I thought Watts last quarter was great. Poor kicking, poor decision making but really I think it was lost at selection. Don't know how you can carry stretch, ANB and Harmes in same team. Too many kids learning their craft at the same time.

Garlett marked that 40m out in front - and umpire / MFC let eagles set the mark at 48m - poor stuff

Works really hard, gets to contests and getting more composure by the week. Will never be the A grader we hoped but should be a really good 10 year servant. Remember, Nathan Jones took time to develop - was a turnover specialist in his first couple of seasons. Great clubman and about time we all gave him a break.

Don't get grimes hate. Thought he was really solid.

Out coached again - game played on saints terms - they dominated last quarter. Selections dubious. Why the need to rush in ANB, with stretch, Reilly and Mitchie. Too much change, inexperience and too many passengers - Mitchie 3 possessions for two turnovers! Positives - vince, hogan, viney, toumpas. Thought Jetta did a lot of good things too. Love to hear Roos excuses for last 41 seconds. Dumb footballers or poor coaching?

I think there's quite a few positives out of 1st half - we've absorbed the pressure and hit them on the counter. Do fear we will lose this game at the selection table. While I think we've young talent we've thrown too many in on the one day. Can't carry ANB & Stretch in the same game.

Vandenberg - 29 touches and 11 tackles..... Beast. Hogan - star - nothing more to be said. Brayshaw - work rate in the last quarter ŵas immense.

Only hope is that Bail, Jones & Grimes have the best game of their lives, because their footballing lives depend on it......... otherwise it's going to be a car crash.

We've looked too slow and certainly Roos is looking to bring in leg speed - Mitchie, Grimes, McKenzie all one paced. Had the feeling Jamar coming under pressure - rag dolled by Mumford in 2nd half and destroyed last week - playing for Casey this week so he's dropped and not rested. I like Spencer - still raw but has pace and a crack. i think Grimes is stiff though - be good to know what Roos thinks his deficiencies are - not enough bulk / skill to mix it in midfield and poor disposal to sit off hbf I would assume.

Definitively playing through pain barrier. Told he's having pre-game injections and half time - but obviously club are keeping issue under wraps. Heard from the same source that Tmac has rib issue but will push through. Brutal game.

Peterson for Frost Toumpas for cross. I know cross can get his hands on the ball, spreads, defends and gives his all but his kicking and lack of creativity is starting to hurt the team. Think toump needs to be given extended run and let's see what he can do.

Watts needs to play and improve. Terrible conditions today but we need his skills if we are to win. Dawes offering nothing, I'd rather Pederson or Gawn. Dyson has got to stop butchering it. Bradshaw and hogan will be stars but hogan has been poor set shot kick since kid, and needs real remedial work. Cross tries guts out but his kick into forward 50 consistently isn't good enough. Howe looks like he's going through motions (perhaps already agreed terms with GWS) but thought garland battled really well. Umpiring was shocking.

Dawes needs to be dropped next week. Makes forward line too slow and ball rebounds too easily. Would prefer to see Dawes out, Howe moved forward to have hogan, watts, Howe as marking options with Garrett and Kent at ground level. I would bring grimes back in to play howes back line role and potentially also drop Kent for JKH. Would give the forward line more speed and less predictability. We also need to draft in some speed into midfield - jones, Tyson, viney, vince etc just all one paced.

Yankee Bartlett heads for the door before PJ. I'm sure PJ is difficult and autocratic - I'm sure he doesn't refer to the President or Board for decision making - but who cares - he's landed Roos & Goodwin, major sponsors, AFL special funding and turned a profit this year - best CEO I think we've ever had - and he doesn't spin or sugarcoat anything. If Bartlett stuffs this up members should call for his head.
