Next year's draft is so much better in terms of depth and with GWS having a lot less picks. Plus, having a full year under the new coach will give our recruiting team a better understanding of what we need. No doubt we did the right thing by holding onto our compo picks for another year. It gives us two first round picks on top of Jack Viney, and if we draft well, it really could extend the length of our window by 2-3 seasons.

It would give me great pleasure to rape the GWS list in 2 years time. They deserve nothing less!

A small defender is exactly what we need, and all the better if he frees up Grimes to play where he belongs!

At pick 54 in a poor draft, we're lucky to have found someone who will possibly play a handful of games. That's more than I expected us to. At least he's somewhat of a known commodity and comes with a ready-made body. (And if nothing else, he has made our list at least 30% more appealing to females)

Such devastating news. I was so touched when I read his initial post, so to think he has now lost his battle is just horrible! My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

If we made finals last year, Bailey may still be our coach, and we may not have experienced the sort of positive changes we've had during the off season, including a new and improved coaching panel and Mitch Clark. Not that I enjoyed last season, but I think in the long term it'll be remembered as a season which helped us make the required changes to get better.

That is totes amaze, and I do not hand out that sort of compliment lightly!

I don't really know why we played hardball with Bate. With Clark on board he is needed even less, and will struggle to get a game moreso than he did last year. Unless of course Neeld has a plan in mind for him. Watch him get delisted for nothing next year. Shame really. Pick 39 would mean our ND picks this year would be 36, 39 & 52. Now they'll have to go into the 70's. Ew!
