  1. I think we all feel rightly angry and disappointed and bitter, because at the end of the day we have to ask WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO US? We take one step forward then we get stabbed in the heart with a money hungry kid getting paid so far over the odds we can't compete. It's disheartening! We spent years in Shitsville and we seem to have arrived back there this year. It's been a terrible 2011, and to watch Tom's slimy pathetic excuses only tops that off.
  2. From what I've heard, some players did feel like the trip was too long, some were unhappy that what was essentially a working holiday wasn't then compensated back to them with a longer break over the pre-season, and some players also felt as though they had very little physical preparation pre and post the match against Brisbane, which was concerning for them. Having said all that, Scully is a sook and a cry baby if that is why he left, because the other 45 players who went are still at the club. Oh and talk about first world problems. You get a free trip to China, oh boo hoo, what a disaster for you. FFS, these damn footballers have it far too easy in life!
  3. Who cares about Scully. My boy Stef signed so I'm happy!
  4. Meh. Glad it's over. Karma is a [censored] and I fully expect Scully to experience very little team success in his life, while he watches his old club play finals and possibly win a premiership in the coming years. Money does not make you happy.
  5. Yeah I think we both agree that our team could really use this mantra of defence first. We are woeful when we don't have the ball, and this has to change. Ross Lyon acknowledging that last night was an end of an era for the Saints, means that he is now ready to take on a club that is ready to climb again. I can't see why he'd stick around to try and rebuild the Saints, knowing how many coaches got given the arse from that club during a rebuilding phase.
  6. I've spent this entire year supporting and backing Tom Scully to death, but I'm done. Seriously, this charade is becoming a joke and I have no respect left for someone who is now treating our club with such open contempt. If you want to leave, just leave. Don't drag out your decision, make a mockery of our club, take your time pissing off to Western Sydney, I mean come on, have some common level of decency for your club! He is not Chris Judd.
  7. I think I've mentioned this before, but Ross Lyon has some of the crappiest defenders going around on his list. The Saints' backline is extremely poor, Zac Dawson is his full back FFS! He won't know what do with himself given Frawley, Garland, Rivers plus Grimes, Blease, Tapscott, Strauss and so forth. It will absolutely allow him to change his game plan and style, especially at an open ground like the MCG. I'd be beside myself with happiness if we managed to land him.
  8. Whatever, go chase the money and be miserable and unsuccessful for the rest of your career. This is what happens when dumb 19 year olds are given stupid amounts of money. The least he can do is grow a pair of balls and stop being such a coward and just announce it already. Turning this into a circus is completely disrespectful to our club, a club that picked him up and nurtured him for two years. Pathetic. [censored] the hell off, and let us move on with our compensation picks. We are the Melbourne Football Club. We've been around for 151 years and no snotty-nosed money hungry kid is going to undo us.
  9. You are a massive [censored]. I was at that dinner. It happened. I'm not sending you photos to prove it. Deal with it
  10. Wow. I'm 99% sure that I have no idea whether Scully is staying or going, but am 100% sure that Wolfmother knows a hell of a lot more about the Scully issue than you do. FFS this is the most boring topic to ever be discussed on Demonland.
  11. It's a joyous day when you finish the season below Richmond
  12. Ordinary player, gives us nothing we need. Is as good as gone. Not a midfielder and struggles to hold a spot up forward with the likes of Watts, Jurrah and Howe all much better.
  13. That is what most uneducated supporters said about Frawley and Garland and Watts. For your sake I hope nobody drags this little gem out in 2 seasons.
  14. Very very important player. Needs to work on his disposal, but just so strong and so quick. We missed him.
  15. This is without a doubt as low as I have ever felt being a Melbourne supporter. I wanted this season to end, now I don't want 2012 to start. We are hopeless, our midfield is actually so bad we are uncompetitive for long periods of the match, and our forwardline is all at sea. Our players just sh*t themselves the minute the pressure is on. Absolutely horrendous. No idea where the motivation to keep up this level of dedication is going to come from, when we just keep throwing up this sort of rubbish week in week out.
  16. Ump needs to give himself an uppercut. Joke. But we are losing because our midfield is terrible and we are soft and lazy. To lose to Port is about as low as it gets, and would be a symbolic way to end a terrible season of utter disappointments.
  17. We.Are.Crap Entertaining game though because both teams have found their level.
  18. Speak to Morton and you'll realise how badly he lacks confidence right now. He needs a new coach to be committed enough to play him in one role so he can learn that role and get comfortable. The ugly abuse of Morton here and at the footy is just pathetic and unwarranted. He is still a kid FFS!
  19. Meh. If he goes he goes. I believe we will be OK regardless. Bring on 2012 and those compo picks. Life does not start and stop with some 19 year old kid.
  20. Stef Martin. James Frawley. Colin Garland
  21. Unfair. I've been right before
  22. I showed this to my dad and he said to me "you know you're just as bad and some days I'm actually embarrassed to be seating next to you at the footy". A crazed fan not even a father could love
  23. Agreed. Since Viney has been in charge we have conceded defeat at every centre bounce. Bartram may do a good job defensively but he is a woeful midfielder, so while he may keep Ablett to 29 mostly average touches, he is keeping a Melbourne player from winning contested possessions and using them to our advantage. For long periods yesterday we had Bartram, Jetta and Scully in the middle. WTF is that? Scully is good but he's very small, and the other two are not a midfielder's bootlace (yet anyway in the case of Jetta). No wonder Ablett, Swallow and Rischatelli mauled us!
  24. I'll be impressed with tactics that work against good teams. As it was, we barely beat Gold Coast. Oh and any tactic to relies on ball spillage and winning the contested ball off the deck is not going to work for us until we learn to win the damn contested ball! FFS we are hopeless at it even though we have one of the better ruck-duos in the league. It's like watching gold fish trying to swim their way out of a glass bowl.
  25. Hahahahahaha that was amazing. Poor soul, I feel his pain. Was he yelling at them to man up?! Epic!
