  1. Less worried about McDonald, but not too worried about either of them.
  2. I'm liking what we're seeing, but it'll be interesting when Roos steps back entirely.
  3. Gawn will be in the top 3 ruck men in the competition if he plays out the season, no doubt about it. Viney will have a great year and I can't wait to see how we fare with Jones and Vince back in the guts.
  4. Sure, but most of the cynicism can be saved for another year, can't it? That seems the logical way to go about in this scenario. He has two years to run on a contract FFS. Soon we'll be stressing over a player signing for 5 years instead of 6.
  5. I like most of your points Theo, but how do you go about preventing tanking when that draft pick system is in place. The FA idea is great, but it would never run. The AFLPA would kick up a stink, as players wouldn't be able to float off to another club and win a flag if they wanted to.
  6. Hi DeeVoted, posted in the DT thread accidentally... would love to go around again this year. My team name is TheFredFannings. Edit: Lost track of my team last year... promise I'll do better this season.
  7. Jack Viney is going to tear the comp to bits this year. If you don't have him in your supercoach/dreamteam squad, get him now. If he stays fit, Kent should become a serious force. Maxy Gawn to end the year being rated in the top 3 ruck man in the competition. Lumumba to make up for a disappointing 2015 and provide some (still) much needed run penetration off half back.
  8. Trash rumour, as can be expected from The Purple Headed Warrior. The only reason Jack Viney would head over to Port Adelaide would be to physically drag Ollie Wines back to Melbourne and force him into an MFC jumper.
  9. Hopefully. But you never know, they might have hated each other as juniors.
  10. Lel. And a couple of marks out in front. In all seriousness, seems to be a champion fella but he is frustrating to watch. Surprise packet - really hoping JKH brings some consistent form and really builds on the promise of a couple of years ago.
  11. Could be worth a go, as long as the due diligence is done on his knees and the extent of the injuries he suffered. Have to feel for the young guy.
  12. I don't think Simpkin is the kind of player that would fulfil our needs at the moment. A 28 year old fringe player will not add very much at all, and that age gap that was glaringly obvious a couple of years ago is essentially covered. Time to develop our youth and recruit guys toward the younger end of the scale. FWIW I hope we go for a state league recruit in his early twenties, such as Menegola.
  13. Disagree with this. We do need to draft for a ruck man, but that is a long term investment. Throwing a first year ruck into the seniors (hypothetical, if Max and Spence go down) would be a catastrophe. We need a short term prospect to provide some insurance and the rookie list is the best way, IMO. Gorringe would be on my list to have a look at, but well toward the bottom.
  14. I played under 16's too, but I don't think my skills would be up to scratch... I'm excited about his physical attributes, especially the leap and basketball ability. However transitioning to playing AFL with little recent football experience will take an immense amount of work, particularly on his skills. I really hope he makes it though and will make the effort to go and see him at Casey early next year (and hopefully at the G later in the year!).
  15. In hindsight, potentially the worst post in DL history. Toumpas and Garlett instead of Hogan... the club would have been dissolved by now if Olisik was in charge of recruiting.
  16. Plenty of promise in the young fella and I'm very much looking forward to seeing him play more next year.
  17. Come on Dazzle, it's not all doom and gloom. Just last week there was solid talk of him being keen on signing a long term deal. This is probably just an investment property... he can't live in it for at least 2 years .
  18. It's not that hard to believe that he loves the city he grew up in... I've heard plenty of positives about how he rates Melbourne too.
