  1. Body language needs to improve, no doubt. But dropping him is not the way to achieve that. I'm sure Roos, McCartney or Goodwin will address it this week. Maybe Lloyd would prefer him running around laying cheap hits on opposition players?
  2. We all know how many games we have lost and if you really want me to answer those questions then yes, I watch our abysmal performances and yes, I watch great teams continue to dominate due to a number of factors. I'd be more inclined to describe most of our players as kids currently out of their depth, with few role models to learn from and a coaching panel and administration that is attempting to rebuild the worst list and club in the history of the game. They've done a lot of the work on the list but strong game day success and consistency is still a way off. We got ahead of ourselves and I think they did too.
  3. Well we need to start somewhere. I'm still convinced that some of these players are better than the level they are currently playing at. Effort, concentration and confidence play a huge part in the execution of these skills.
  4. Calling players 'weak skill less losers' is not a dumb comment?
  5. Great constructive comment. When will you be putting on a jumper? I'm hoping beyond hope that this game will spur us on and we'll play well against the Roos. No evidence to back up this dream though.
  6. NAB games do mean something, but not much. They mean a little when we have had so few wins in the last decade and a very small amount of confidence should be taken from those wins. However we've overestimated our form and perhaps taken way too much from those practice match wins. I'm considering this game an outlier in the bigger picture of this season - we're still learning how to win and it will take a while.
  7. Pretty good run down Poita. I'm beginning to have doubts about Kent too, although he has a fair bit of time before a call is made I'd think. When he is on he's a great asset to have but it doesn't happen enough. Kennedy has superseded him already and is more versatile. Not sure we can fit both of them in our best 22. In regards to Harmes, AVB, I disagree. AVB is definitely going to be a vital cog to our midfield going forward, and I think Harmes has a future. Keep in mind that this was only his 10th game of AFL football. Bugg is probably just a stop gap and M. Jones is in the same boat unless he can continue the GWS form. In other news, I saw Joey Daniher at a bar in Northcote on Saturday night. Fairly sure he was with Laverde. I said g'day and he seemed like a nice enough fella, considering the colour of the jumper he wears. The Hogan vs Daniher debate will continue for a long time but so far this season Daniher is looking the goods. If only he could kick straighter, he'd be well ahead.
  8. We are not bruise free. Jones, Vince, Viney, Brayshaw, Oliver, Hogan (I can go on) have seen to that. We just suck.
  9. Some phenomenal overreactions here. He played a very poor game and a poor 3 quarters last week, and does need to lift. The kid is in his second season of AFL football and has arguably the most expectation on his shoulders in the entire competition. Give him a break, he'll bounce back. We're bloody lucky to have someone like him to rest our forward line on. Who else would it be? Dawes?
  10. Wouldn't say that, we beat GWS who are a much better opponent. Bloody complacent is what I'd say, and it was absolutely pathetic. Still don't know how to win and still can't bury this [censored] excuse for a club.
  11. If you're going to get his name wrong, at least call him 'Mission'. It sounds better.
  12. Our best chance at a shellacking in a long, long time. I hope we pulverise them to really send a message, and get up by at least 10 goals.
  13. It will take a long time to get over the emotional damage.
  14. Don't laugh too hard yet, it's only one real game. Haven't you learned anything following the MFC?
  15. Wowee. Does a little alarm bell ding in your house when someone mentions a players name?
  16. Looking forward to seeing him string the form together for half a dozen matches. When he does that, I'll be convinced, but I'll be enjoying it the entire time. When I watched the replay, I noticed his involvement a lot more than I did on Saturday. His composure and ability to find his way through traffic has been something that has stood out his entire career. It's like a sixth sense and not many players have it to the same level as Jack.
  17. Davis did a very good job on Hogan in the first 3 quarters. Deserved points for sure.
  18. I'd tend to think the same way about Garlett and Tyson. Alarm bells ring when a player is at 3 clubs within a few years. They'll all re-sign.
  19. There will be a ritual cutting of the hair if he comes to the MFC. Plenty of jungle music and tribal dancing. Would be a great get, and personally I'd love to see him go forward again.
  20. I'd go for Prestia over Whitfield every day of the week. Remembering performances from both of them that I've seen, and having a look at their career numbers, Dion is definitely the better player IMO.
  21. A good player is a good player. If Dion is the best available of a crop, we go hard for him. None of this 'not required' rubbish. Good players are always required.
  22. Really just shows his ineptitude. The great thing is that these days, there wouldn't be anyone agreeing with that.
  23. He is an AFL footballer, as much as I dislike him and Fill.
