  1. In theory, the employer has most of the power until the player becomes an unrestricted FA. But it is clearly becoming easier for the player to get their way before free agency. All up though, I'm with Deestroy All... a line like that does sound pathetic. The club will always be bigger than the player.
  2. Did he get lippy back at you Saty? I'm intrigued by this exchange.
  3. Had a go, meaning you got stuck into CP over the broken toe saga?
  4. Not sure why, but I'm feeling the same way. I think we'll play a very strong match and get up by at least 5 goals. My biggest concern is Dylan Shiel. If he shows up we could be in trouble. If he's contained or has a quiet game, we're well and truly on.
  5. Pretty much, but not usually directed toward events that may or may not be half a decade away.
  6. Pointless speculation. Lets focus on beating them this week, rather than in 5 years.
  7. That's two nothing articles from Bilton in a week. Never heard of him before I read the first one, but I expect I'd be able to find plenty more. But I guess when news is slow, they need to create something.
  8. Great card in Brisbane today and entertaining fights all round! What I took away from it: - Bec Rawlings is scary. - Te Huna is done, surely. You can't keep being KO'd like that at 34 years old. - Daniel Kelly has enormous heart and it was awesome watching him get over a much younger and more highly touted physical beast in Antonio Carlos, who looks huge at middleweight. Probably my favourite fight of the day. - Jake Matthews is a superb athlete and is going to be a gun for a very long time, and will be a contender at lightweight much sooner rather than later. Those body shots on Case took the fight away from the American and Matthews strength and speed was first class. Legend and only 21 years old. Along with Whittaker, he's our best prospect at that level. - Lombard is done, surely. - Classic Hunt, huge KO. He keeps bobbing up and down in the heavyweight rankings and won't go away, but I can't see him getting a title shot without some serious wins over guys like Miocic, Velasquez, Dos Santos and Rothwell. All in all, a great afternoon of viewing.
  9. Langdon's list is strange. He had Armitage at 16 and Robbo didn't even have him in his top 50. I think Armitage should be around the 30 mark, FWIW.
  10. The media absolutely love 'The Package'. Good player in the making but by no means deserving of a place in the top 10. Jones and Vince very stiff. After this season, Viney will be top 30.
  11. This Dean Bilton is an absolute pleb. Nothing piece.
  12. I think Grimes was okay in the NAB challenge. His kicking has improved for mine, and his tackling and marking is solid. Links up well and has a bit of a run when he gets the ball so it's half back for him I believe. Needs to find more form but I think he's getting there. It's a long way back for him after injuries and the trauma of captaining the worst side in history.
  13. Hogan is still virtually a second year player. Plenty of time to work on the technical aspects of his goal kicking, but let's not forget that his accuracy overall was pretty good last season.
  14. Great pics, thanks Six6Six! Fantastic to see so many smiles on faces, and Trenners looking very fit.
  15. Anything can happen this year. I think we'll finish either 11th, 10th or 8th. We all know that 9th is already reserved.
  16. Niall may have 'confirmed' that but who is his source? More likely this is just Niall's assessment of the situation based on the evidence that is obviously available.
  17. That is terrible news, love Hogan's pieces and he seems like a genuinely good guy. He is also very active and always keen for a chat on twitter. Wishing him a very speedy recovery.
  18. My thoughts exactly. I might consider it luck when Gus is actually back out on the field in 4 weeks, but till then I won't hold my breath.
  19. Confirmed, low grade strain. 4 weeks. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-03-02/club-confirms-lowgrade-strain
  20. I'm sure the club has taken every minute precaution possible to be very sure that Gus doesn't need a scan. If there was even a tiny shred of doubt, why would they not go ahead?
