  1. I echo these sentiments (minus living in rural Nepal). Demonland makes being a Dees supporter much easier when you're living abroad, and I think that without it I may have thrown in the towel long ago. It's a fantastic way to stay informed about the good (and not so good) things happening at the MFC and is one of the main reasons I remain a member despite not being able to attend many matches. Thanks Andy, Demonland mods, and all contributers. May us long-suffering fans taste some glory soon.
  2. I've lived overseas for a long time, and can assure you that no matter where you are, having an internet connection makes it very difficult to hide from the disappointment.
  3. It's hard to do this thread by measuring potential while also including current older players like Dunn, Vince and Jones. When do you expect the players included on the team based on potential to be good enough to make a GF? Will Jones/Vince/Dunn be around then?
  4. Would love Cameron Bruce. By all accounts a super smart guy. Not sure if we'll ever see him back at the MFC, given the terms he left on.
  5. Did we offer both picks? If so, I'm glad it didn't pan out. I wouldn't even trade Brayshaw on his own for Danger.
  6. It's a revue, not a prevue. Doesn't tell us anything about next year.
  7. It was exciting, but I almost tore my hair out. Garlett had two loose men inside 50 and chose to kick it to the contest. Not the best option, but awesome seeing Hogan clunk it and then go back and kick the goal.
  8. Hawks by 27 Mitchell wins the Norm Smith Bruest kicks the first Josh Kennedy most goals
  9. The sprint isn't always the fastest person at the club. I can't remember who it was, but someone ran in the sprint a couple of years ago just to get tickets to the grand final. I don't think that clubs care who they enter in the race...it probably comes down to who's available and willing.
  10. I'm so torn about tomorrow. It would be horrible to see Hawthorn win a THIRD flag in a row, but I've got so many Eagle supporting mates and the last thing that I want is to see them happy. I'll be watching with the hope that both teams lose.
  11. That's what many on here are beginning to question. He's nimble, reads the play well, has good skills and is apparently a good leader. He definitely had a case of the second-year blues in 2015, but I think he's got potential to be a decent AFL player.
  12. He will not come close to winning it. He's got a few good attributes, but his speed is not one of them.
  13. From "The Jake Melksham Thread" Can you explain why you don't want him if you think that "he is Bernie Vince like the way he can kick off both feet and get penetration on his opposite foot"?
  14. Been hearing this for a while now, but still nothing official. The longer it goes on, the less confident I am of it being true.
  15. The Lions are going to be awful over the next few years, but they definitely didn't deserve a PP this year. After 2 or 3 more years of garbage, then give them one.
  16. What does it say about Cotchin? Grimes has always been widely lauded for his leadership skills, and they were the main reason that he was elevated to the leadership group as a 21-year old and became captain as a 23-year old. In hindsight it was a poor decision to give someone the captaincy of an AFL club at such a young age, but that's a slight on the MFC, not Grimes. As a teenager he would have been a more than capable captain, leading other teenagers. It's not his fault that he (along with Trengove) was seen as best option at the time to lead the MFC into a new era, and it's clear that his game has suffered as a result. No young, developing player should be made captain of a team that was in the state that ours was.
  17. He's got a bung leg...Freo would be lucky to get a third rounder for him.
  18. Surely this would be considered draft tampering.
