  1. Team----------KPF1 [GOALS]--KPF2 [GOALS] 1. Fremantle - Pavlich [40] Mayne [28] 2. Hawthorn - Roughead [50] Gunston [57] 3. West Coast - Kennedy [80] Darling [26] 4. Sydney - Franklin [47] Tippett [44] 5. Richmond - Riewoldt [54] Vickery [31] 6. Bulldogs - Stringer [56] Dickson [50] 7. Adelaide - Walker [59] Jenkins [46] 8. North Melbourne - Petrie [42] Waite [42] Melbourne - Hogan [44] Dawes [11]** Dawes only played 14 games, but that's still an average of 0.8/game I'm not sure where you get the idea that it's not the FF and CHF's jobs to kick goals, but you can see that every top 8 team's CHF and FF both averaged over one goal a game in 2015, while a great deal of them averaged more than two/game. There are forwards that are played in defensive roles, but it's the CHF and FF's role is to hit the scoreboard, and the stats of the top 8 show that. We're not going to be a finals team with Dawes playing as a KPF unless he can start to do some damage to the scoreboard. At this stage we're lacking a second decent KPF, but I have Pedersen ahead of him based on his hands (which I already know your thoughts on, so don't bother repeating them as it's clear we disagree). I also think that moving Dunn to the forward line and Frost to the backline could work. The only way that Dawes makes my best 22 is through injuries to two of Hogan, Pedersen, Frost, Dunn, Garland, McDonald.
  2. Can you please tell me what his role is? He's been played as a key forward and has averaged less than a goal a game in his 3 years at the Dees. I've heard people go on about how he plays his role, but I just can't understand what it is. I don't think that he gets enough of the footy to compensate for his lack of scoreboard damage, and I really think that Pedersen offers more in the forward line/backup ruck role.
  3. Dawes did very little in that Geelong game to contribute to us winning it. He has also done very little in the vast majority of games that he has played for us. It's possible to win games when players don't perform, and we have done that on several occasions with Dawes in the lineup. We need to find a replacement for him, and I'm thankful that he only has one year to run on his contract.
  4. Not sure what your point is here. Dawes had 9 disposals and no goals as the primary target in the forward line against Geelong. Sure, the team had it's best win in years, but Dawes didn't have very much to do with it. If Hogan was playing in his place, we would've won by even more.
  5. I'd almost forgotten about that debacle...
  6. Out: Dawes, Grimes, Cross, Lumumba In: Brayshaw, Gawn, Salem, Garland
  7. Well, it's the Mets against the Royals for the World Series, starting tomorrow in Kansas City. New York looked dominant against the Cubs, so I'll pick them in 6.
  8. We'll find a way to get Prestia if he wants to come to us at the end of next season. Don't worry about that. Treloar was always going to go to Collingwood.
  9. He has made the worst possible first impression on is new club. I would be absolutely filthy if I were in any way associated with St. Kilda, especially considering that his manager reportedly knew the video was set to be released prior to the trade going through.
  10. Really like the sound of Curnow. Sounds quite a lot like Stringer, and you have to wonder how he would be rated if he hadn't had the dislocated knee.
  11. Could be used as an upgrade on Matt Jones for that role of defensive forward that rotates through the middle
  12. If you hate draft picks, why are you upset that we traded away next year's first rounder? We have less picks next year, so you should be rejoicing!
  13. No idea what Carlton's endgame is here...they're making some very questionable moves.
  14. Thanks. Not too sure what he has to do with my post...
  15. Don't worry about it now. If he wants to come to us, we will figure out a way to get him.
  16. We've got better scouts and a better development system in place than we used to. Sure, it's still a lottery, but I feel confident backing the club's decisions at the moment.
  17. We could trade our 2017 first round pick for him. Or trade in another 1st rounder and on-trade it to GCS. I'm sure the club knows what it's doing.
  18. This is fantastic. I would love to be a fly on the wall at Essendon right now.
  19. I doubt that. I think his form tailed off due to concussions in the VFL
  20. Dees to make a last minute trade by sending Dawes, Terlich and M. Jones up there in exchange for those three?
  21. Exactly. It was only after we played Port in Round 1 2013 and saw Wines star and Toumpas struggle that the majority on here began to shift and express their doubts over our selection. At the time of the draft most experts and fans alike seemed to think that we made the right call.
