  1. We effectively traded Lumumba for Clark. I wouldn't consider that a clear fail, given that Clark only got on the park 8 times for the year and he's clearly not going to fully get over his injury and mental issues. I have been less than impressed with Lumumba, but I think that we at least broke even.
  2. Surely he could buy a new family with the money that we've offered him.
  3. I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty sure that most people can grow a new toe in the time that it has taken his injured one to heal.
  4. We'd still be coming out well on top if we traded Watts, Howe & 6 for Hartlett, Prestia and Melksham. That sort of outcome would only happen in my dreams, though
  5. The reason Adelaide would match the offer would be to receive better compensation from Geelong than they would from the AFL if they simply let him walk. If they didn't match, the highest compensation pick they could possibly get would be 13th, and that's assuming no priority picks to Brisbane or Carlton, as well as no top band compensation for any clubs below them on the ladder. It's much more likely that they would receive a pick ~16th for him, which is far less than they would be able to get if they trade for him. I'm certain that Geelong will part with their first round pick (higher than 16) for Danger, and it's possible that the Crows may be able to get even more out of them. End scenario: Danger reaches the Cats; Adelaide receives a better deal from Cats than they would by accepting the AFL's free agency compensation.
  6. Toump already has to fight for a spot in the team and hasn't been able to cement his place. Not sure how more competition will help his cause...it's not like he's being gifted games on a weekly basis. Do you have some inside info on Aish?
  7. If we get Aish then surely Toumpas is out the door. I can't see room for both of them in the team.
  8. I'm a massive fan of Kent. I really hope he gets a clean run at it, because I think he's got the potential to become a star for us. He's capable of playing a variety of positions, but I prefer him in a high half forward role where he can accumulate possessions but also impact the scoreboard.
  9. Celebrating the win with a ciggie on the field...how times have changed.
  10. I seem to remember that Garlett's request to be traded to Melbourne took most by surprise last year. I'm trying to take all rumours with a grain of salt and looking forward to seeing what the football department surprises us with in the next few weeks.
  11. You haven't set the bar too high there, Monoccular!
  12. Hawks to beat the Crows North to beat the Swans West Coast to beat North Hawthorn to beat Fremantle West Coast to beat Hawthorn
  13. I don't really know too much about him, but based on everyone else's reactions, this is a terrible decision!
  14. Agreed. I'm surprised that Sanderson hasn't popped up on more lists, and think that he could be a decent candidate for Essendon.
  15. I don't think Worsfold will go to Essendon. I would suspect that his days as a senior coach are over. I would be more than happy to be proven wrong on this, but at this stage I'm quite worried that McCartney may get the gig.
  16. Definitely real...I saw it when it was still on Instagram. Great banter
  17. Interesting that there's no word from the club about his re-signing yet. Perhaps it will be announced at the B&F
  18. MJ is a decent role player. I'm often frustrated seeing him in the side as I'd prefer someone more versatile/ skillful (such as Salem or Tyson), but he usually plays his role well, and he always puts in a decent effort. He can be a good defensive forward and has the pace to snag a couple while playing that role. He was very good against the Cats and Dogs earlier this year. Well done to him on 50 games, and hopefully he has a good one today.
  19. One of our best users of the footy out, one of our worst users of the footy in. Good swap!
  20. Think it might have been tongue in cheek. To many, football = soccer
  21. The thing that I can see with Jesse is that he's driven to be the best and absolutely hates losing. Paying him big money on a lengthy contract wouldn't change this.
