You don't have to look too far to find a more disappointing player in the AFL and that is the bloke selected before him But there is something wrong with Trengove. He has lost all his kicking penetration and god only knows where his 2.97 sec 20 metre sprint speed has gone from his draft testing. I would be hugely surprised if Jamar ended up on the trade table. You need a minimum of 4 rucks. It would be an interesting experience umpiring a game in front of 45,000 rabid West Coast supporters. A bit like facing a delivery from Thomo or taking the wheel of a F1 car. You wonder how you would go It is a thankless task umpiring an AFL match and the abuse would only get worse in the lower leagues. Somehow they need to increase the the pool of umpires. The quality drops off quickly after the first few top guys.I have always thought the AFL should encourage retiring footballers into the role. Swoopers years at the club were easily my favourite as a supporter. Aside from the success he brought to the club his Melbourne side played a wonderful mix of tough, skilful football. It was a mostly beautiful era.
