Great post mate, can't argue your points. I'm just greedy and want more from him that's all. Also, I just want him to get some intent with his tackling. Couple times against the hawkers I think it was Smith who just ran through him which was painful watching. Don't see the point in trading him and we wouldn't get anything of merit but there is no way in the world that I am even close to being satisfied of some of his performances/efforts this year.

I read the '16' line first, thought jnrmac is having a laugh till I read the names. Can't argue much which is sad. The only one I'd keep is Jamar. He isn't great and won't return to his A/A year but I like him being there as it forces Gawny to work hard for his spot. Gawn was literraly smashing the door down to get a game at Casey and he has been solid since. I think next year Gawn will be the number 1 ruckman for us but I still have doubts on his body. I'd retain Jamar for backup as have no faith in Spencil. Other than that your list is spot on. The only players I consider best 22: FB: Jetta Dunn **** HB: ***** McDonald ***** C: Vince Jones ***** HF: ***** Dawes ***** FF: **** Hogan Gawn R: Jamar, Viney, Tyson Everyone else in the team has some serious work to do and Jamar is on thin ice. I have no doubt Salem, Trenners, Viney, JKH, Kent, Toump etc will become good players but they are yet to really show this on a consistent basis. We have a lot of work to do.

Hmm, I think a steak knife can actually hurt someone. He's more like the seat covers thrown in with the new car.

Keeping Tappy?

I like this a lot in using pick 2 for Petracca and moving on pick three similar to last year. I literally know nothing about Petracca other than what I have read and through everyones optimism it makes me want him a lot (its like the positives of pre-season reports all over again!!) Is it possible to bring up some stats on the TAC comp to compare to other mids over the previous years? I just worry that we are all getting on the same hype as we did with Watts, Scully etc. He seems to be the definite number 1 mid in the draft this year and a lot of teams would be desperate for him. Because of this we would get a ridiculously better deal trading pick 2 over pick 3.

It seems that everyone is keen on Petracca this year which will definitely give us some pull come trade time. Haven't seen the kid at all but from random readings and the fact he is a quality goal kicking mid there is a lot to like. Would like for us to get him but would rather a ready made gun instead if we could pick one up. Sick of running the risk, investing in speculation and not reaping a dividend. Been burnt to many times so for me its about time we picked some solid blue chip investments. My number 1 is Dangerfield. Have met with a close relative of his and he is 100% confident that he will be back in Victoria next year. If not him then lest just rape and pillage some ready made up and goers. Shiel, Treloar, Tommy Mitchell plus some compo back our way (similar to last year) would be great. We desperately need some quality.

I don't think Martin needs Roos at the moment he has been fantastic for the Lions this year. Averaging nearly twenty touches, five or so marks and five or so tackles. Also 30 odd hit outs I'm a fan of the Rush and have faith in Gawn being something one day but Martin is hell of a lot better than both

Yep with you rjay bud, they completely missed it. One of few times I'll be wanting the hawks to get up. Just can't have the roos

Shows how far off it we were when a player who got 5th in our B & F last year is struggling to get on the park at Freo and when he does get a game can't get a full game.

Just had a quick chat with one of the Williamstown coaches, used to play footy with him/for him. Only touched briefly on the game but he is a massive fan of JKH, as I guess most are and said Tappy was really good. He didn't come out and just say Tappy was really good, I asked how he went as I'm still holding on that he might make something of himself. Just wanted to put that into context. Will talk to him later in the week when there is more time and find out who they thought our best were. So in fact, this post really doesn't add... anything

Players to target at the end of the year
deeko replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd back in Roos to do wonders with vickery, not sure what all the hate here towards him is about. If we could pick him up cheap I'd be all for it. There are some serious issues at tigerland at the moment and a lot of there players are playing below there best. Tyrone at his best will add more then Fitz, Spencer or King will at there best -
At least he gets amongst it. Still as much as he has always been a favourite of mine I'm worried his days are numbered

Liking Blease, Gawn and Georgiou. Blease especially is looking damaging which is great. Not much else to get excited about

Miss Deeko and I have only been together 11 months and she was a bombers supporter however has now officially converted. The two things that got her: 1. My ridiculous obsession and passion for the club. 2. Dom Tyson The second point worries me as that I am concerned Miss Deeko wants to become Miss Tyson.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
deeko replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
From watching a few hawks games this year I believe that Suckling and BIrchall would have about 1 hard ball get between them for the year. Still they all play there role which hopefully young Billy will have shortly..... pending of course his ability to maintain his drug & alcohol addiction along with being a sexual deviate. Would be shocked if anyone would want him in the draft -
Is that Lucas named at FB for the Rat? Surely Fitzy will be licking his lips at the opportunity to slot a bag on him.
-
Agreed, not sure of the hate. I don't wish him well but I don't hope that he fails or gets injured. I'll still have a look at the paper Monday to read if he gets a touch or not. Not sure if many people know Merbein where Col is from but if you paid it a visit and had a look around you would get a fair understanding of why Col is a lunatic.

Very pleasing. He has been having a fair dinkum crack since returning to the side this year and I believe his efforts and his overall impact on games are continually improving with his fitness which was clearly an issue early on. He clunked a few grabs last week which was refreshing. Looks like he has confidence back to jump at the pill again, just like the couple good seasons he had under Bailey (or maybe a season and a half) Not sure if his fall from grace was due to injury or possibly lack of motivation following his removal from the leadership team and then watching his best bud pack up and head north. Anyway, its nice to have him back having an impact and looking like he is enjoying his foot again. In answer to the OP as well, clearly the wrong decision.

This it. We held a team who averages nearly a 100 points a game to 60 odd. That's a big win I feel. The fact we scored bugger all clearly wasn't but at least we can all see improvement overall and if Vince's goal was counted who knows what could of happened.

The Kent and Jordie deserve a guernsey. I'd give both JKH and Salem a spell but agree that we can't have all of Gawn, Jamar, Pedo & Dawes playing. We just seemed so slow. So maybe Maximus to have a spell and one of the kids stay in. Looking forward to seeing The Kent back in action and although Jordie has been working on his offensive game, I'd love him to go to Goddard again and work him over. No Jobe, Jordie to BJ and Cross to Heppell and I think we are in with a shot.

Thanks for this Bob, seems a lot of people forget we gave up pick 20 as well. Who know what we may have done with this? Traded for another established player or maybe pick up someone like Matt Crouch which at the time I would have been all for not realising how good the dominator would turn out. This is it. All three clubs would be very happy with what they have gotten out of there trades here (or in Brissy's case not trading). Still if I had pick 2 I'd trade a player who has the potential (Kelly) to be a great player for someone who is already proven (Rocky) everyday.

I have MFC and then Casey as my second team... does that count? Sit next to one of GWS's players brothers at work so his interest keeps me looking at them however they are quickly becoming the team I dislike the most. I'm a bit of a sicko and take satisfaction out of seeing them get pumped each week and hope so many players want to leave at this years end.
-
He has been a fantastic story so far this year. I have a couple non-dee supporting mates who just love his big tackles and bumps as much as we do. He seems to be developing a bit of a cult following in outside circles. He just looks and plays like something from the 80's. Especially that mop he is wearing. Humble pie never tasted so good.

Yeah agree also on Rohan, struggle to see what the fuss is all about. Mind as well play Blease, he has shown as much or more
