  1. 6. Daniel Cross - I just love his efforts for a guy playing his second game. Battered, bruised and just kept running. 5. Dom Tyson - Smooth mover, someone who we will all come to enjoy his career. 4. Nathan Jones - Would have featured higher but had a couple uncontested kicks that got smothered. Still, we would be lost without him. 3. James Frawley - You people who didn't rate his game are dead set morons. Smashed by 100pts and he holds one of the best FF's in the comp to 4. Bet him in constant one on ones, chased hard and smashed out some crunching tackles. 2. Dunny - You have made me completely eat my words so far this year as I have always despised you as a footballer. Well done mate, great skills today. 1. Dean Terlich - Took the game on today with his kicking and hit some good targets. Continually howled down here and I think he played a good solid game today. Plenty of rebound
  2. Imagine if one of Demonland's (Old Dee's in particular) favourites in young Jamie Bennell not only gets a game, but plays it well against us. I'll cry
  3. Roos didn't make any big changes to the Swans line up if I recall correctly after we pumped them at the G a few years back. He's never been big on large changes so I think players will be given a lot of chances to prove there worth. I believe Gawn will come in if fit and Viney a definite but not sure who for yet. Everyone here is having a crack at Pedo (fair enough) but lets not forget that although he was ordinary, and will continue doing so, he takes a key defender placed on him which in turn means if a Dunn, Watts or Fitzy are up forward they might have the second/third on them if Gawn plays as well. Unfortunately, until we see one or two of our key trio back, the Pedo will play. If anything Gawn for Fitzy (if injured) and Viney for whoever didn't fill there role. Very scared about the Weagles forwards next week kicking a big bag. Frawley to take Kennedy (who rarely plays two averages ones in a row) and then we have to worry about Darling, LeCras and a resting Cox/Nic Nat being possibly without Tommy Mc and Garland. This could get ugly.
  4. This is what I am hearing as well.
  5. I think going forward all players will be saying the exact same thing (eg Frawley, Gibbs etc) as it's the classic AFL players response that doesn't make them sound like a money hungry a-hole and provides justification of why a player would look elsewhere. Being the continually burnt demon supporters we are suffering from a never ending case of MFCSS we all know it really translates to "Yes I would sell my body to the highest bidder and let them have there way with me"
  6. Interesting article on one of my favourite Non-Dees player in Patrick Dangerfield. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/patrick-dangerfield-to-weigh-up-adelaide-prospects-20140319-hvkhj.html I think we all have a soft spot for him, quick, powerful, skilled and hard as a cats scone. Literally 3 days ago I was chatting with a very close acquaintance of Patrick's and he guaranteed me he would return to Victoria after this contract and now this article has popped up to say hello. Also said that Patrick was told by the Crows mid year during his U/18 campaign that they would select him with whatever pick they had in the draft from 1 onwards. They rated him the best pick of the draft. He said at the time Patrick also received a lot of attention from our talent scouts.... fat lot of good that did but oh well. What do you say lads & ladettes? I say lets get the cheque book open!
  7. I think I'd spew if we took more draft picks. Can't handle draft comparisons and what ifs any longer.
  8. Has anyone nailed one yet haha! Come on Morton, Deeko still has faith!!
  9. Disagree. His ability to win the contested ball is amazing. It's just that he is so polished and classy at doing it you would hardly believe it was contested. Pendles seems to make time stand still when he is in amongst it.
  10. I was a big fan of the mateship as well. Also being an Echuca lad myself I got a few looks at Olly playing against men and the fact he was hard as a cats scone was super appealing as well. I always worry that no matter how good the coach is, you can't teach someone to be hard and want the contest but I feel you can always teach someone how to kick and handball the pill. Anyway, I still like the Toump and think he will become a classy player and one that all will appreciate during his career with acts of skill and polish Wines however will be one we will all love during his career with acts of bravery and hardness.
  11. Is Hogan still living with Mitch? Hope this isn't having a negative effect on Jesse
  12. I have a good friend who was on the bombers rookie list and those figures of $40k plus a a match payment were pretty much spot on. Unfortunately for him he never got a senior game so he battled along for his one year in Melb living a quiet lifestyle He then got his backside kicked by the afl for selling his grand final tickets as he needed the cash... Even though the cash was really funding there o/s footy trip. Didn't help his chances of getting on another list
  13. I remember this game, it was against Bendigo when they were really struggling. It was good he jagged a couple but he wasn't great in the game. Magner had approximately 268 touches if I remember correctly. I remember 1 game in his first year where he had a cracker picking up nearly 30 touches from the centre. I thought we had picked a winner and was excited at things to come. Last year however he played on a flank for most of the year and he looked lost in a few games I watched. The recruiting of Magner & Couch probably didn't help his chance to get back into the guts either. He was one who I could have understood both if we decided to keep him or cut him loose. I still wouldn't be surprised if we see him on a list again in the future.
  14. Fully agree youngdee. My disclaimer was in the fine print of my post
  15. +1 All of my fathers side of our family are big on the Saints (they are quiet supporters who appreciate the game, not maniacs in any way) so I have a soft spot for them and hope they are at least competitive at least this year. I wouldn't wish any supporter to have to go the continued heart break what we have had to over the last few years. Unless they support Collingwood, Carlton or Essendon. They can get stuffed
  16. I liked his game but think he will struggle to be best 22 come Rd 1 as like most here I think JKH will get the small forward role. I'm just happy there is pressure on players to perform now! Finally
  17. Well done Lynden, you proved me wrong Friday night as I thought you did a good job and made me eat my words. Hoping you keep doing this and make me look like a complete fool. Good lad
  18. I have to head to a local tonight to watch the game as I don't have foxtel. Can someone let me know what time it starts for the Victorian's to watch? No idea the timezone difference. Don't mind getting there early as always happy to tip down a few jars but would be shattered to miss the start. Cheers
  19. Luckily we are only planning on finishing 5-6th this year old dee winning the one final and having these two in career best form come 2015.
  20. I just don't see what he brings to the table that's all binman. I never have seen anything at all from his game that makes me think he warrants a game in the ones. Over my time I have probably seen more twos games then seniors anyway and he never set the world on fire for the Scorps either. I know he has been injured a lot and in that matter I do feel for him but once your on the park you are 100%, no excuses. I would never boo him and I am not the type to yell out abuse at my own team and I admit there are probably fewer times I put my head in my hands out of frustration from Strauss in comparison to when Terlich/Frawley and Grimes kick the ball. But those three have toughness, continually put there bodies on the line and can defend. I don't think Strauss is a natural defender or is that hard at the ball. If he is in the team Rd 1 he will get a fair crack at it as Roos isn't the type to make big changes each week. I think we will know a lot more about James at the end of the season. I really do wish him well and hope he becomes a solid backman but I can't see it.
  21. Rivers obviously rebelled against the previous coach which put him on the outer as Neeld had the 'my way or highway' approach. I don't think any players would be on the 'Roos outer' as he is a great manager of people. He doesn't created the 'us and them' culture which Neeld did and his is clearly one of the big reasons Roos has the ability to get the best out of players. I understand your thoughts here dee-luded but I think under a great leader like Roos we would still have Rivers on our list. Sylvia as well. Roos met with Sylvia and continually said he is a required player. If he wasn't I doubt he would bullcrap on like he did.
  22. I'm confused...... I think James is well behind about 5 players wanting a small defender role. Yet to see him to produce anything of excitement or for me to think he belongs on an AFL list. At the end of 2014 I strongly doubt he will be.
