  1. Yes I did see the game thanks and I thought his ruckwork was ineffectual.
  2. +1 Jordie might butcher it once and a while when under pressure, but at least he gets it and when he doesn't he works hard on the defensive side laying tackles. A blue colar worker. I think Max ( and a couple of other bigger bodies - from McDonald, Fitzpatrick, Davis) should get a look in. I noticed Jamar was mentioned in our best, but found this surprising as his disposals and marks were few and he couldn't run with Vickery. So it must have been for his actual ruckwork, yet we were totally smashed in the clearances up to half time? Note Carlton might be in the hunt for Butcher but Jamar should trump that. Jamar is from Adelaide afterall and is a free agent next year I believe.
  3. I don't think such action is helpful in building a win/win relationship with our partners. A don't disagree with what went on earlier , it wasn't good ,but I think we should play our part on getting the relationship back on the rails.
  4. How would you feel being 5 points down in the last thirty seconds of a grand final with Barty running into an open goal or being 5 points up with Aaron Davey a one on one defender in the goal square as the ball comes in. Shudder!
  5. One of the dangers of a complete rebuild and letting the football and recruiting dept live in a comfortable, cosy , unaccountable place for 4 years is that you don't know if you have the goods or not for 4+ years. Results to date don't indicate success.
  6. Reasonable effort 6 goals from a young bloke who cant kick. Lets not stuff this one if we can get him.
  7. Understand your point of view Pitchfork but there are economic and territory issues that need to also come into the equation for us. I agree that some issues need to be clarified and worked on so as everyone is working in harmony but Hawthorn seem to be ablle to manage it.
  8. Don't forget Scott Thompson premiership player and who had 50+ possies for the Crows today. Forget all the subjective b..sh.t ( he's slow, he's this, he's that) about these kids, the only way you can find out if they can play or not is to see him in action in the big time. We are prepared give some timid types 60 games+ without any great evidence they can play. Last week we also had two supposedly senior players who looked as if they were terrified. Tommy Mac just keeps on performing which is exactly what the club would be hoping for.27 possies isn't a bad afternoon. Good luck to him, he's a bit of rough nugget who looks like a sheepdog but he approaches the contest in the correct manner.
  9. Good on you and I hope he turns it on too, but I still haven't gotten over Flash's one arm in the air StKilda game, fail to understand how he is still in the side, thought his efffort last week was ??? as was CS, can't understand the selection of this this weeks team, still smarting over the Russian's game against the Bulldogs where he was murdered by Hudson ( arguably our most important game and when the underperforming nature of our whole football was exposed)so politelely request the players completely smash Richmond this week or bring on the kids.
  10. I was there and also thought he was good. He is one of our harder types and I would disagree with him being dropped. There were far worse than him up the other end but no one seems to have addressed that. Would like to see TM and maybe Jack Fitzpatrick get a chance.
  11. Maybe, but that's pretty soft isnt it? That seems to imply that because things haven't gone as the football dept would have liked its acceptable for them to call the season over.
  12. Maloney 38 disposals, Davey 28 Disposals, Jamar 25 Disposals, Green 12 Marks.
  13. Interesting stuff. I watched Silvia and Davey closely yesterday in the second quarter as I was up their end. Seemed to me neither gave a yelp. Their workrate and attack at the ball really bothered me and it looked to me as if other things were on their mind.
  14. Well the list managers kept Tom McNamara on in preference to Paul Johnson so they get a tick for that one. They obviously had some belief in him.I can't see that his form at Casey this year would have weakened that position. McNamara was the youngest player taken in the 2007 draft ,so still only 21 and a bit, is a bullocking 190cm midfielder in a club a bit short of that commodity.( Not quite big enough as a key defender but the change of role seems to have worked for him). Reckon his fate may rest with the Scully issue and maybe related dealings. The times I've seen him I've liked his no nonsense approach and I think you could do a lot worse than keeping him on.
  15. Tommy Mac again up there in the best. Unheralded, but his name just keeps bobbing up.
  16. Love your passion old dee, but if 60% of your senior school football team is in year 9, its very difficult to win the premiership. Look out when they all hit year 11 and year 12 even better. Stay the course.
  17. Well I hope you donated some of the saving to the club.
  18. Agree the premium tarriff is important , by my calculations using CPI power increases and our useage capital payback should be 5 - 7 years with a 3k system. Two more important words 'support sponsors'. If they support the Gold Coast Suns as well thats nice.
  19. Yes I was happy with the quote and placed order which is now in train. Club picks up a couple of hundred I think.
