  1. Pagan, Parkin, ..........Norm Smith, Checker Hughes??
  2. If his form is up to it, I would offer him a year by year contract as a player. If not, and he doesn't want to move on, perhaps there is some sort of rôle at the club as an indigenous mentor?
  3. Maybe that is exactly the explanation for our current position - no spine anywhere. Lets hope that PJ lives up to his expectations and delivers: we have seen that he can elsewhere, given the right environment and structure and support. GO DEES.
  4. Sorry about the spelling - LEECH 1. Any of various chiefly aquatic bloodsucking or carnivorous annelid worms of the class Hirudinea, of which one species (Hirudo medicinalis) was formerly used by physicians to bleed patients and is now sometimes used as a temporary aid to circulation during surgical reattachment of a body part. 2. One that preys on or clings to another; a parasite.
  5. And if it didn't work out for some reason Caro could just rehash her old bitter stories "it is all due to Schwab"!!
  6. Bloody hell..........it is all Neeld's fault of course, surely. Or Jack Watts.
  7. Hope he recommends a big surprise win on Monday, and the players take up the challenge :-)))))))) On a serious note, we have been fortunate to have him on board. Now he may well be a masochist to take this on, but hey, join the club......all longstanding MFC members and supporters are by their nature mascohistic or they wouldn't stick around.
  8. Ain't hindsight fantastic. What BAD LUCK Chip. Get well soon.
  9. I ticked the "Like this" button - in fact I am starting to like just about everything Dawes says. Sounds very intelligent, honest and very realistic, and a genuine leader.
  10. I have been a diehard - followed them since the glory days, and the dark decades following those days, so I cannot be accused of being a fair weather supporter - but really can't bring myself to go any more, out of a sense not so much of despair as of deep sadness. I listened a bit, but when the commentators said that Howe had been moved as a loose man in defence early in the second, I couldn't even bring myself to listen again - the white flag had been well and truly run up. I will start going again when they are at least, dare I use the word I hate, competitive. This has been the saddest footy season I can remember in nigh on 60 years. I cannot even listen, let alone watch or attend.
  11. Cathy??? Agree - he appears to be the first to recognise just how unfit and how lazy, and complacent our list had become, either because they were just that, or perhaps more likely because the cr@p culture at our club allowed them to. It will certainly make these aspects of the job easier for his successor. We can at least thank him for recognising and for acting on our huge deficiencies.
  12. Thank so much for thoughtfully starting yet another tedious thread on how much we will lose by, how many goals player x will kick, how big a loss to we need to justify sacking Neeld tomorrow night etc etc etc. It seems that there are a growing number here who would actually hate us to turn up a surprise against a big scalp lest the pressure to sack Neeld immediately may wane.
  13. just beat me to it: how many get riff of Neeld threads do we now have?
  14. Thanks. A different perspective from the incessant sack Neeld threads.
  15. Maybe we weren't quite as bad as many thought when they beat us???
  16. We keep hearing from at least one poster here that (can't remember which) Taggert or Tynan "will be a gun"! Any thoughts from your personal observations KC??
  17. Is that because MN's game plan involves avoiding the corridor in favour of the flanks?
  18. Beautifully stated. GO DEES
  19. I guessed that there would be at least one "committed loyal MFC supporter" who would be hoping for another slaughter this weekend. GO DEES.
  20. He may well, but I hope he gets more than one game regardless. In fact at least two.
  21. Maybe we should sack Neeld, then all would instantly be well.....Roos, Eade, Pagan, Chocko W. would all be bashing our door down, hoping to become in a year or two a record breaking 5th consecutive coach sacked mid season. Imagine the honour in that. Oh -sorry. I thought that this was going to be yet another "Neeld must go" thread. Every second new one seems to be so.
  22. well I guess the usual 70k Magpie fans will turn up in anticipation of an easy win - Mark, this is THE WEEK for the team to bethehardest team to play against. IF we could upset the Pies , and I know it is a huge enormous IF, much would be forgiven, or at least temporarily forgotten anyway.
  23. Jetta, Magner, Gawn! About the only ones who may get us up and going and will be playing for Cranbourne FCS. I guess it could be an attempt at avoiding them losing their confidence completely?
  24. Agree 100 percent re the tiresome nature of incessant Neeld bagging.........sack him for whom? Another guy to kick when he is down? I just hope that if Fitzy gets a game, he gets three or four regardless of how he goes: given the anticipated weather this weekend I doubt if he will be taking a lot of big grabs, but he doesn't need just one or two games then get dropped. In fact any of the promotees from Casey should get a few to see how they get up to pace.
