  1. How about Collingwood if Eddie's love child doesn't produce the goods?
  2. And I thought that it was Moloney who asked to be traded.
  3. Whether he plays or not, our 22 will be playing against 22 opponents. Doesn't matter who they are- big question how will OUR guys respond to OUR events of the week? They have all worked with Craig for as long as they worked with Neeld. The response will certainly show something about the dynamics of our club, and the character of our players. GO DEES!!!!!!
  4. Well, I guess the petulant little prjck has at least shown all the class that he does possess anyway.
  5. He might put them forward for a coaching position?
  6. Interesting thoughts / observations. And I too hope we will see a real change, which to all intents and purposes could surely not be other than an improvement.
  7. FCS -Neeld has been sacked so all these who have bayed for his blood be satisfied. Now please can everyone get behind Craig for the residue of the season. He IS an experienced coach, something that any have been calling for......he will not get immediate success, but he needs a lot if support from us all.
  8. Thought it may have been an update on Mitch Clark.......or Chris Dawes.......or Jack Grimes......or Jack Viney...........or...............
  9. Thanks Don for answering the call when dear Jimma went down. An extraordinarily difficult time for the club - really a no win situation for you and your efforts are most appreciated. Hope you can join us in the crowd when the resurgence comes. Best wishes with your future endeavours.
  10. Errr...... He was a big wig of some sector of Maquarie Bank, and is Federal President of the Liberal Party........could that be perhaps construed as leadership sans Jeff????????
  11. He was Jeff Kennett's Treasurer and left Victoria in a very solid financial condition. He was I believe on the MFC Board around 2000 for a while and some sort of big wig in Maquarie Bank. So he is experienced in high business*, and also a true believer (in MFC). PS* Also Federal President of the Liberal Party, so to answer dimmy, above, he has a high profile. Also a very articulate speaker, and smart mover - ex top Barrister (and I don't mean he makes good coffee).
  12. Like his politics or not, he has serious experience in running a huge organisation and I am sure he would do the job well, and keep his nose out of (but be very interested in) the day to day footy matters.
  13. Whilst this is a real concern, is your statement based on fact, or on very understandable deep Demon pessimism?
  14. ..... or a speed camera operator??
  15. We don't have the numbers because we don't have the success, or the (kill me for saying this) competitiveness. IF we can get those things back and play attractive footy with a reasonable chance of success then we will get some crowds.
  16. How novel :-)
  17. So, one man's opinion justifying starting yet another anti-Neeld thread? Maybe I should start a "Norm Smith or Mick Malthouse" thread?
  18. Ho hum.....another "kick Neeld" thread. I can't be bothered counting, but I would guess that there are maybe 30 going around. I might start one next time that I am really bored.....maybe a "who will be sacked first, Gillard or Neeld?"
  19. Certainly our injuries to our few strong KPPs - Clark, Dawes, Frawley and until yesterday McDonald - hits us as a struggling club pretty hard, and makes it impossible to develop structures properly. Even the best teams would be in some bother if they were without their best FB, CHB, CHF and FF at the same time. Add I presume that your last paragraph contains a minor typo, or is it wishful thinking ? :-)
  20. Surely he will get a good run with the indefinite absence of Clark, the uncertainty about Dawes at best in the short term, and the unavailability of Hogan. The season is long gone, (geez I am a genius to make that observation), but I don't think that our playing him for an extended period regardless of some mistakes could be construed as tanking. He needs development, and AFL is the place unless he develops a major loss of confidence. He certainly seems to offer more versatility and value around the ground than does Jamar at the moment. Stick with him, as a forward / back up ruckman, as well as Big Max.
  21. (at least partly) because Bailey, and maybe ND before him, did not INSIST on all players WORKING HARD to achieve a top level of AFL fitness. Missen, Craig and Neeld inherited a mob who were either too lazy or certainly not sufficiently motivated to do this.
  22. This has been one of my longstanding complaints about MFC teams dating back through Bailey and into the Daniher era. I had always felt it was just plain laziness, but maybe lack of fitness goes a long way towards the problem; IF and when Missen and Craig get them up to an AFL level of fitness then if they don't do it, laziness (or just plain dumb) can be the only explanation. Maybe, but sure as hell there had better be far far better performances, and at least a win or two as we come up against St Kilda and the Dogs after the break. Too true Agree - all very well to cane Neeld, but what specifically should he or a successor change?
  23. WTH is the latest on Dawes. Not an excuse for a thrashing, but we would be easier to benchmark us if we had three of our key spine fit and playing - Frawley, (McDonald just back), Dawes and Clark.
  24. Are you a part of the "Get back the Reverend" push?
