  1. Definitely time for a public stoning Spoken like a true marketing guru. And they come, and they go, but MFC lives on through thick and thin. Hands off. We do at the start of games :-(((
  2. Yes, thanks. A very able Tasman.
  3. Hands off!!!! The song must never change.
  4. ...or, given his Tasmanian connections, rain?Great write up, Tassie. #8?
  5. Sounds like some of our mismatches when we play good teams like Hawthorn or Eagles. 7 of them, 4 of us. :-((((
  6. The pink that the Demons wear once a year certainly does nothing for me........especially since that round v Bulldogs a few years back when Einstein DumbItriou put the umpires in pink too, and confusion definitely cost us the game. Still I tend to agree that numbers mean nothing, though Jurrah was merely half the player when he went from 48 to 24.
  7. Given the limitations of highlights reels:- Big strong build Seems to like a contest Generally a good left foot kick Reads the play well Brings others into the play Wouldn't say no at the right spot, but hell, what would I know.
  8. Hey Diamond (you aren't Diamond Jim by any chance, our first in the great multitude of saviours since the departure or RDB, are you?) you and I can be absolutely certain that many of our expert contributors here will just know, 100% (or maybe 120%, whatever that actually means) that player x "is / will be an absolute gun" and player z "is / will be a total dud / spud / <insert any other offensive judgemental term>".
  9. Yeah. Numbers mean such a lot - how many "he wifi be an absolute gun" young players have borne #31 in the past 50 years...all going to be the next great savior. Ray Groom - his only Premiership was that of some hick island state to our south.....and one of the Cockatoo-Collins twins......Paul Wheatley was a very serviceable player but never the "next" RDB. And if numbers do mean anything, what was Ox wearing when he did his knee, did his knee, did his knee? Perhaps he is trying to exorcise a demon??
  10. Whichever course the club follows, it will certainly provide a nucleus for vehement and passionate debate on this site for many years to come. Undoubtedly there will be some who will get great joy out of advocating their position should both picks not turn out to be Brownlow medalists within a few years.
  11. I am sure there will be a tidal wave of love when he wins the Brownlow, Norm Smith and Coleman trifecta.
  12. Who we never ever had an opportunity to see, due to random unrelated injuries
  13. Doesn't really sound a great fit. Where would the enthusiasts draft him?
  14. ? And who actually knows much about Josh Tynan, other than the usual "this guy is / will be a gun" on this site.
  15. His so called shabby disposal (if one agrees with that premiss) may be in part due to the fact that much of his disposal is from in close under intense pressure. Despite my ongoing love and respect for all that Jordie got from himself and gave to the team, never once leaving any effort behind, I feel that VDB already has superior disposal skills than Jordie and will end up being a far more valuable player. If Jordie's work rate and work ethic were transmissible to every player on the list however, we would have been a lot further advanced by now.
  16. ......but, apart from those little matters .....
  17. I would be very alarmed if the senior coach did NOT have anything to do with in any way. Sure not THE final word but he must have at least some input or say.
  18. Regardless of JW, how about waiting and seeing what Trengove produces in the preseason? It is premature to write him off, write off his pace, just as it is to lock him in for a top season. OMG some people just love to prejudge.
  19. Circular argument - we would get better attendances at better time slots. If I recall Collingwood had some sort of record low on a late Sunday afternoon slot - give them that every week and their aggregate attendances would be worse. Give is lots of Friday nights and Saturday afternoons at the G and I guarantee our would rise significantly.
  20. I sincerely hope that the footy department decide which role he plays, not him. We have had enough of those.
  21. OMG - yet another JW thread!! Yes, if he is ahead of 21 others available on a particular day for a particular match, and no if he is not. Simple answer. QED
  22. Morton, Maric, Toumpass, Blease, Strauss all say hi. That said, we now have a professional recruitment team who no doubt occasionally delve just a little deeper than highlight reels.
  23. It still takes two clubs to put on a match FCS. Both gave to pay their players.
  24. He could go to the Bombers, bulk up on #%^*#}{ then follow Mr Milkshake to us later. I was thinking more Trapper.
