  1. Thinking further on the additions to the list from outside competitions: IF their was any fairness and equity at AFL house, big IF, then surely the "innocent bystander clubs" like Port, Melbourne, Dogs, Saints etc should get a go before the guilty party. I don't for one microsecond think this will happen, by the way. Maybe we can unearth another hidden gem from NEAFL.
  2. Add Hird to that list Said on SEN so must be true? Sorry, no samples or records were kept I haven't had time to read the whole report - does Hird, Read and the board get off Scot free? What a terrible injustice that would be.
  3. Has anyone actually read Melksham's contract? Do we know for a fact that there isn't some sort of escape clause, at very least regarding his payments? Do we know or a fact if there are any provisions for totally revoking in the event of a guilty finding? Let us wait to hear from Jake and from the club And if Essundone are allowed replacement players, surely we (and Dogs, Saints, Port) should get similar options. One would have have to suspect that any of the guilty players would have serious problems returning to the game with such a stain on their characters. Sledging for starters would be relentless.
  4. Yes, crap for MFC but, so far, right for footy. Now, what about Hird and the board? How about Jab's medal? Maybe this will drive Robbo to drink?!?!
  5. Show some optimism and think 2016 finals :-))
  6. Looking at the video again (and again and again.....) I can't help thinking that the nanny state MRP may in future deem that as a sling tackle, It would be a very sad day for the game were that to happen though. ^^ and Robbo - he was caught red handed, with plenty of prior opportunity, and went around before he (may have) handball it.
  7. I agree, it would be incredibly unlikely: however it would be a delicious irony were he to do so and kick a bag in a match winning performance. He and JW are very different players.
  8. Oh no!! A young Aussie man fooling around, barefoot, in summer. Terminate his contract forthwith!!
  9. Song.....what a fantastic analogy. Looks like a sequence from David Attenborough.
  10. Speaking of gravity, perhaps the true gravity of the situation regarding #6 playing future will become apparent if Sam W makes any decent progress in 2016.
  11. Looking forward to seeing him out there in the R&B sometime maybe mid to late 2016, if he has done enough at Casey and if the coaching panel / match committee feel he is good and ready (and I can't see why he might not be). Looks a tough bugger. It may be hard for the team to adapt though to a second tall forward whose remit is not to "bring the ball to ground" :-(
  12. ...or both That isn't Christian doing his toe I hope :-(((
  13. He, Dawes, will IMO need to produce some far more positive results i.e. take marks and kick goals, not just "make a contest" and "bring the ball to ground" (code for failing to hold marks) if he is to be offered any contract beyond this year.
  14. You seem to sound quite authoratitve in your call that he is a dud (offensive pejorative expression by the way) forward. Can you please explain your reasons for your opinion? As far as I know he has had little if any opportunity to confirm or refute that premise at AFL level.
  15. Of course there is / will be a lot of speculation ranging from a very minor crack in a phalanx to a major mid foot fracture, with the outlooks varying from a few weeks non full weight bearing to career ending. Does anyone one have any factual information?
  16. C&B - I think you are missing my point. Accidents can happen to anyone in daily life, and in casual recreation. One can 'stub a toe' that turns out to be a small fracture. I heard that Angus played golf at the weekend - had he been hit by a stray ball, pulled a muscle or been bitten by a snake would we stop all (especially younger) players from golf? And I don't think that having a great injury record or a poor one should make a difference as to what one does for recreation provided that it is not a recreation that carries high risk or aggravating a prior injury. Cotton wool does not prevent injury.
  17. Time to move on......watch and enjoy our stars like Hogan, Brayshaw, Jones, etc tearing up others.
  18. Didn't Nathan miss a bit of last pre-season with a surfing injury? Should he not be allowed to surf for recreation? Surely a far more risky pastime than social basketball. So true. [censored] happens. And don't get me started on Luke Molan again: vilified as a "dud" without ever having the opportunity to play due to a series of accidents.
  19. Either way, half full, half empty, there isn't enough wine (or whisky).
  20. FACTA NON VERBA
  21. I really appreciate the time you have taken to name those players. Many of us take time to get used to regognising new players, even some of the second years. Well done.
  22. Oh...please. Sadly the only recording I had of it was that awful commentary....though the angst at the end was enjoyable. Is Fox doing the replay of every game again this off season?
  23. I am not expecting Clayton or Sam to drag us out of the mire, but I would've hoping that they would be putting themselves forward for at least a few games as the 2016 season progresses, especially Oliver No That would be unfair pressure on him (along the lines of JW QB debut) and would also mean that some who got us there missed out Smith and Cardwell reincarnate???
  24. With the multiple cameras, multiple umpires and the MRP (as inconsistent as it is) Matthews would play very few games a season these days.
