McAvaney practically orgasmic third quarter as the Toiges make up ground. -
Pity we can't have two Christians ready to take on the Lions: hopefully reversing the ancient historical results though.

Wouldn't taking this to court end up with sworn statements from all he wishes to subpoena, as well as himself?Could make very interesting reading I wonder when he will file, and when he will be Hird, sorry, heard?

It certainly is ridiculous that there were organized criminals inside the Essendon rifle - quite ridiculous. Unprecedented at least in the modern era.
-
If he is guilty of trafficking prohibited substances then surely there must have been recipients. And anyone receiving these prohibited substances is surely guilty too.

As good or better work ethic and commitment ( and that is saying a lot), and maybe better user of the ball. An outstanding recruitment

Post Match Discussion - Round 12 (never in doubt)

Are they quick, strongly built midfielders who can play inside or out? If so the top dollar would be worthwhile. Are they available for this year's draft? -
Though not strictly legally enforcable in the general community, the morals* related to the Helsinki Declaration on Human Experimantation appear to have been violated in multiple areas. It is worth a read, but here is a bit of an outline - from Wkkipedia *morals - of, relating to, or concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong; (Definition inserted for the benefit of any EFC folk who may be reading, and who don't understand the concept) Principles The Declaration is morally binding on physicians, and that obligation overrides any national or local laws or regulations, if the Declaration provides for a higher standard of protection of humans than the latter. Investigators still have to abide by local legislation but will be held to the higher standard. Basic principles The fundamental principle is respect for the individual (Article 8), their right to self-determination and the right to make informed decisions (Articles 20, 21 and 22) regarding participation in research, both initially and during the course of the research. The investigator's duty is solely to the patient (Articles 2, 3 and 10) or volunteer (Articles 16, 18), and while there is always a need for research (Article 6), the subject's welfare must always take precedence over the interests of science and society (Article 5), and ethical considerations must always take precedence over laws and regulations (Article 9). The recognition of the increased vulnerability of individuals and groups calls for special vigilance (Article 8). It is recognised that when the research participant is incompetent, physically or mentally incapable of giving consent, or is a minor (Articles 23, 24), then allowance should be considered for surrogate consent by an individual acting in the subjects best interest. In which case their consent should still be obtained if at all possible (Article 25). Operational principles Research should be based on a thorough knowledge of the scientific background (Article 11), a careful assessment of risks and benefits (Articles 16, 17), have a reasonable likelihood of benefit to the population studied (Article 19) and be conducted by suitably trained investigators (Article 15) using approved protocols, subject to independent ethical review and oversight by a properly convened committee (Article 13). The protocol should address the ethical issues and indicate that it is in compliance with the Declaration (Article 14). Studies should be discontinued if the available information indicates that the original considerations are no longer satisfied (Article 17). Information regarding the study should be publicly available (Article 16). Ethical publications extend to publication of the results and consideration of any potential conflict of interest (Article 27). Experimental investigations should always be compared against the best methods, but under certain circumstances a placebo or no treatment group may be utilised (Article 29). The interests of the subject after the study is completed should be part of the overall ethical assessment, including assuring their access to the best proven care (Article 30). Wherever possible unproven methods should be tested in the context of research where there is reasonable belief of possible benefit (Article 32).

or as one guy named Brock would say, tanking. should they choose to do so. As could AHPRA with Dr Reid, should they choose to do so. Does anyone know who are their decision makers, and if so what are their footy allegiences?

Does anyone have any inside info as to just what "toe injury" frost suffered? Was it more a foot injury than just a phalanx? Is Kent (and Salem) doing running?
-
Six players in the team of the week!
monoccular replied to RalphiusMaximus's topic in Melbourne Demons
Has this ever happened to MFC before? I certainly can't remember more than maybe the occasional three. Not even sure is the highest number from one team since this has been around. Shows that there has been significant progress as a team. Keep it up. -
Spangher is in a very different category than Cheney (or our own Steve Armstrong who is a fortuitous WCE Premiership player). Spangler was very unlucky not to be a three club Premiership player: IIRC he was emergency in both Swans and WCE flag teams. Other than that - yes, every list has some NQRs. It is called depth.
-
If this does happen, and I am sure all (bar one or two) dearly hope he does make a successful comeback, I wonder if that king of the negatives, pickett fence, will come out publicly and eat his humble pie. Somehow I doubt it.
-
Good point. Haven't we asked the AFL every year that we have had this Darwin arrangement, to fit it in immediately before our bye? Can't be that difficult to arrange, were there the will on their part. Stubborn or arrogant at AFL HQ?
-
So do we somehow need to fit Fitz in? Nice dilemma for a change
-
To each his own opinion: I believe that we can't afford NOT to have two rucks, especially as Dawes can't / won't ruck. Hogan surely, if fit, must return. Dawes could be the unlucky one. JKH offers lots of run: Bail may well be the unlucky one (or Matt Jones or Riley.)
-
Have you considered that it may not have been a typo?? Those were gory days.
-
And don't forget Moloney's secret signal - pointing downfield: meaning "I can't be bothered running, you do it!"Lynden's huge torp 2 normal players' kicks away from the goal would have been perfect had we managed to force a behind in the dying seconds vs Saints.
