  1. BTW, Stevie J did a very good dive, on the replay he totally went for it when he felt the hand and the ump was sold the candy.
  2. WATTS: Consecutive Good Games TMAC: Came into Game PICKET FENCE- how much do you want to barrack for someone else? will pay you to have an opinion elsewhere. Am blissing out on the win and read (yes your allowed to have it) opinion and it is a buzz kill.
  3. i don't often read the pre match stuff, but I thought it was interesting to read the other POV, thanks for taking the effort. And also I actually thought it was a reasonably even effort from the Port mob. I myself have arranged internet inside my armoured vehicle as we move from Donetsk to Deniprovotosk so I can watch the bloody game live, I watched the bulldogs game live and didn't jinx it so I think I'm safe. 4. I'm with Qwerty 30, ...Last Won a GF... I like that I feel all of these records can fall within 18 months with Roos in Charge.
  5. BUMP Tear up his contract, it's no good... I want him paid more. I see positive signs everwhere but the player he has become since becoming captain is amazing. I would not swap him for Hodge.
  6. Love the love for this bloke, there were some moment when I thought we could break (am a traumatised supporter) on Sunday and his couple of clutch marks really helped us maintain tempo and positive attitude. Very worthy of his spot on the DL Banner (which ios going to need some more work soon.
  7. Still a sub, Viney better at everything and I'm hoping like hell that Toump has had his breakout game, finally thought he looked ok. I did love his attack, in many ways he makes a good matched pair for VDB and I could also see him starting as a rotation for what VDB does allthough VDB has better disposal.
  8. I watched the Elliot chapter of Open Mike, and it reminded me of how much I loathed the man. Apart from that I was interested how Mike (gently) drew a line between his conduct and the state Carlton is in now. In so many ways I see how 'our game' is played and managed as representative of Australia and whether we chart our own way in the world or become a cheap copy of the 'seppos and everything that is wrong with their professional sports. Namely nearly everything I like about Australian culture is summed up in our sport and if it becomes a totally business model we will become poorer for it - I always though Elliot would have been happy for us to become extinct. Elliot's attitude was bad for the game (obviously as a MFC hater) and the need for a fair comp. I think Carlton's current troubles are a good thing, they will finally be able to get rid of a poor culture and become a good club again.
  9. Finally renewed - kind of sad, going through a divorce, didn't know what to put down for an address. If there is a more complicated family membership in the Melbourne football club I'd be surprised...
  10. Correct - No case to answer, someone screaming in your ear from 6" away is not just a case of sticks and stones. There is a reason why juries do not hear prior offences, each case is treated on its own merits. Any reasonable person (that is actually a legal test) would take the same view. The volume that shouting in Clarko's ear would easily be interpreted as a threat. Further to that Clarko had been ignoring the goon which is why i think he yelled, he was trying to garner a reaction for the camera before Clarko disappeared into the hotel. All the moral marys with no clue calling for a sanction against clarko have no clue. I would donate $10 to his defense if it was required.
  11. When I saw this photo I was wondering if it had been practised/rehearsed it look like getting wrapped up by an annaconda, and not likely to give away a free.
  12. I was ready to get on PRE and apologize for this when I first heard about it, and then find out that it was not a public slur but part of a private conversation. Without facts, nothing to see move on, I can think of a dozen ways what he said might have been taken out of context. 1984 in every way.
  13. My point was that even on PRE they thought the umpiring was woeful and biased in their favour. I'm saying I like how we are a harder team.
  14. On PRE a bloke called wayne stated that Vince should tag the umps because they have been damaging... made me laugh. That said apart from the reversal of the free in the goal square, I am prepared to live with the umps hating us and not winning the free kick stat, I like the hardness and they are bound to get it a little wrong, but it's worth it. And while I think Hawks will belt us, I reckon we're going to hit them with everything and I'm looking forward to it.
  15. For me now (after having been in the keep a lid on it crowd) having Hogan in the team is like knowing you own Black Caviar after her first four races. There is nothing you would trade not even Fyfe.
  16. I don't disagree that the end is near for cross, (and I kind of expected it to have happened already) but his numbers are still really solid and he is hard at the contest which is what is both getting us into and also winning us games, when he can't do that send him to the pet food factory (joke).
  17. Back six Garland (with a cameo by Vince) - have played to the coaches instruction so well, doing team things not individual stuff and it is shutting down opposition play makers from carving us up the way we used to get opened up in recent history (MFC could play anyone into form). Salem - I reckon he's the new Bruce Doull just wins so many contests or splits them. Serious love. McDonald - More serious love, I didn't even mind the mistakes his confidence shows the trust that has been given to this group to take the game on when they think they can. He's getting better and still so young, I reckon he'd walk into any team including Hawthorn the fact that he built a game to go with the tank is awesome. Jetta - Braveheart and gold dust, his scalps are a key part of our wins. Dunn - that 70m torp was a beauty, I like his kick-ins more than when TJ was at the club. Lumumba - is great for the club, he had a bad day on Friday (chief culprit of the hospital handball) but love him there and he's into the team, I think the doubters have all recanted anyone want to own up and say they were wrong. ALSO Huge love for the hardness, niggle and support the club shows (thank you coaches. Bruise free footy is so gone. And I honestly think Viney is going to be compared to Matthews for toughness but not the thuggery.
  18. USD $1,000,000,000 for concussions in the NFL, this injury has been the elephant in the room for a while in AFL and I am totally happy for him to get over it properly. Was happy when Roos said straight out, he didn't pass the test, he's out. Part of us improving is dealing with injuries, I realized for awhile I've been hoping for everything to align, the perfect team list, the perfect pre season, the perfect coach, the prefect draw, so we might squeak some wins.... Now I realize being hard at the contest as a team makes up for all of those things being NQR. I bloody loved the Richmond game.
  19. I would love it if it was improvement and not injuries that saw these guys become 'core', however Cross has been superb. It would be a fair level of improvement by them before Cross was not considered best 22.
  20. I plan on buying another three os memberships for friends, I'm so happy about it. I even managed to stream the game and watch it live while sitting in a hotel room with a 12mm bullet hole in the window. Another win and I will be convinced it's time to return to the G to see a game live.
  21. Some precious folk here, not Monty Python but definitely good for a chuckle.
