  1. i want him just for the tackle he laid on Boomer, that said he's good in the air, the way he tapped the ball out of the pack to himself showed he can do more than just receive. As many other have said, watching the wheels wobble at pies/bums/scum is a delight in two senses, petty hatred AND some players are actually happy to come here.
  2. I really wish I could go to the funeral - I want to see a really big guard of honour.
  3. The bravest gentleman to ever play the world's toughest game.
  4. Sad about Mitch, way more than James, can we leave Stynes' number alone for awhile please. Mitch you farker, you broke my friggin heart.
  5. Yes you can, this site panders to those that think they are always right, wouldn't want something like a vote to contradict yourself ;-)
  6. ...this thread, really? you need more clients at Beyond Blue?
  7. Do we have 105 people who don't use Demonland anymore? surprised by any stay votes.
  8. Roos put his name to this, while nervous I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt. Must say I would have preferred his first choice though.
  9. Even one year would be fantastic, in fact 18 games would still be worth something of they were quality. Am happy to pay for his Voltaren
  10. the more subtle level is that I thought this is what he was getting at straight away, as you say: "The more subtle level is that the Uni is full of attractive girls that are going to be interested in rooting players and that the players are going to struggle with that." I just didn't need the crayon drawings to spell it out. I remember Melbourne Uni with more than a little fondness for the smart, attractive, confident women running around. Also there is daylight between <can't type it> and anyone else, on any subject.
  11. For anyone interested SIJ BF (search his videos) on you tube uploads most Fox Footy stuff in excellent format, it's how I watch it all over here. Its funny but as much as MR is an annoying jerk I have come to really like the AFL 360 format (Roos being on never hurts either) and I find it more watchable than most of the other shows.
  12. I kinda took it as a light hearted joke, with more subtlety/humour than ever demonstrated by <can't type it>.
  13. The blokes he's writing about deserve OAM's (Emad Elkheir and Ali Faraj), in fact I'd give one to Flanagan too. And I must admit, as self interested as I think the Giants Footy Club is (egro the motivating factor for reaching out), this will be far from their dumbest decision, good on em. Things that promote respect amongst the community (like sport) are worth tank divisions, police stations and jet aircraft for how valuable they are to our society. Its just a shame it's so bloody hard to quantify the value exactly.
  14. Agree - in time, with the best will in the world I reckon he's 2 but realistically it's 3 years, before he is big enough and hard enough to take the hits. I haven't seen anything from Blease to suggest he could do this except for his run, and his training reports suggest he's immune to what Roos wants from him.
  15. The only problem with our back six is we don't have the rebounder, like Nick or Harry, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Malceski or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heritier_Lumumba, as soon as we have this type of bloke we'll be laughing. I reckon Tom is fantastic for his 1% efforts and run with ability, easily pick up a gig in any team, but we are never going to be Manchester United, where everyone has a great kick. I too get a twitch when he goes to kick, but it's his other talents that are why we should keep him. Pair him with the right rebounder and we'll have a defence as good as the Russians at Stalingrad (If Frawley stays as well). I also think we need a Nick or Harry more than a midfielder or forward, the slow kicks coming out of our backline is what puts pressure on our midfield and forwards. I ache to see a few more flat hard passes that gives our attack time and rewards all the good work everyone is doing.
  16. Two things: 1. You realize she will probably want rings and kids for this act? 2. Why haven't you been buying her a membership anyway?
  17. 9 months from now there will be an explainable bump in the number of Demon memberships...
  18. Age is not fair, I think if he passed a robust examination a playing coach in the VFL would be perfect and every so often he could sub for Cross. Cross is a bloody miracle with how well he is playing especially with how often he goes 'inside'. I met a few of the Sydney guys when my brother was playing up in NSW and I thought they were robust, I wouldn't mind a few and he has covered himself in glory. I reckon he'd find the fire for a few games as well when we had key outs, him or Blease, who would you take, even at 34?
  19. Late to this watching the game on delay, no one is immune to an attack of the yips, including us, however i am not going to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Roos wasn't panicking after the game, he saw the good work that had been put in, he knows he has a makeshift forward line, so could some of you muppets harden up, drop Dawes ??? Moronic lets reduce the forward pressure by taking our tackling monster out. Gawn is the weak link he marks and brings the ball to ground but not much chase and limited tackling, he is the one that needs more fitness and some kicking practice. Frost was great for the Magpies, doesn't mean you sack your best forward. BTW Pedersen took 12 ripping marks yesterday and played big boy football, i don't reckon he's going to lay another egg, but before you heap it on Dawes he was getting more attention than Cloke, not that Buckley knows anything about football. Blease no way, Riley yes please, maybe Kent and sub whomever Roos reckons needs a spell. And could the people heaping abuse on Grimes from last week please acknowledge his game from yesterday, he started off on fire.
  20. Does anyone know of Roos' discards, who have gone onto become something? Terlich is a maybe isn't he and Hall left and still had worth at the Dogs, but i was thinking it's the kiss of death to be tossed by Roos? Also of those Roos has traded away, were there any big stuff ups? I'm thinking that some of these names bandied about here might seriously want to pull their fingers out soon as it's a bad black mark to have against your name.
  21. +1 Very happy, reward for effort has been clearly demonstrated.
  22. I totally get what your trying to say and agree with you about the first, and I often wanted to swear when speaking about a subject I feel so passionately (and I agree G-A-Y is not a swear work per se, context is everything in that case), but to say 'woefully moderated' is unfair. I reckon it's a painful job moderating here, and sadly the lowest common denominators (and I'm NOT referring to you) on this site mean we have a swear filter turned upto '11'. Cut em some slack, when I read PRE or Bomberblitz (or even 'ology when I could be bothered) etc I am less than impressed at the mods and feel DL holds up ok. I would prefer more invective but get why its filtered - context is much harder to filter for.
  23. LOL, but on a different note, I'm very sorry for his missus, it proves Carlton has no class, they could have dumped him without the parade (as others have suggested), not that he deserves it or anything but I feel for the partner at 9mths. This she doesn't need, even if she's an unkind person I reckon you still deserve a pass at this moment in life.
  24. It was funny watching that footage again, I'd always remembered it as a monstering on a par with a Scott brother thumping an Irish amateur , however it wasn't as bad as I had remembered it and as Jack said, he reckoned he'd stood up ok in the tackle, and I agree. I'm really hoping he gets four goals.
