  1. Love your wit Jaded. I hope they never read Demonland to boost their confidence.
  2. Maybe Dustin Fletcher? A likely young colt from Essendon. Could have another 10 years in him. Definitely a Peter Pan.
  3. You overlooked Fred Fanning's 18 goals v St Kilda in 1947. Other facts very interesting though. None from the golden 50's and 60's.
  4. 'Rogue', you are indeed a puzzlement! Or are you just being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative. I am retiring from this discussion which is getting nowhere.
  5. Please re-read my original post CAREFULLY and tell me where I stated that Jones was in the same league as the others. I was simply intrigued that an outsider (probably from C'wood or Carlton) could bracket him with the others. I praised Jones for his attitude etc Do you understand now?
  6. ??????????????? Can't you read? LOL
  7. Or STUBBORN critics of a player no matter what he does! Bet you didn't or won't even give him one vote. You are the one showing the poor form Hannabal. Are you a C grader too?
  8. Steady on Ox! Keep your horns in! I merely REPORTED what an outsider stated. It was not MY comment that he was in the same league as the others. He certainly is not. BUT If we had a few more showing the same attitude as Nathan we would be all the better for it.
  9. I hope Jonesy reads that about being a 'trundler'. He might just show you and his critics a thing or two. Go Jonesy show 'em!
  10. Someone watching the Collingwood /Carlton game tweeted, 'Noticed a lot of the GREAT players in the AFL are going bald such as Ablett Snr and jnr, Chris Judd, Paul Chapman and Nathan Jones'. Nice to think that a supporter(possibly of another club), unlike many on this forum, rates Jonesy. Pity a few more here couldn't. Go Jonesy! Always loved your passionate, committed efforts for the mighty Dees.
  11. Very sound and sensible comment. Pity a few couldn't follow suit.
  12. MORE work to earn his spot? Bruce was a legend on the training track. No one worked harder than he. Criticise his disposal perhaps but never doubt his efforts to maintain his own extremely high personal fitness level. BTW, after finishing top 6 in the B&F why was his place in the team suddenly in doubt?
  13. He always celebrated his goals with great gusto and enthusiasm. I saw his gesture on Sunday as a celebration of a much needed Hawthorn goal and possibly a pointed 'that will teach you for not wanting me!" directed at Bailey, Connolly and the other members of the MFC football department.
  14. Yeah, I noticed the bald spot too. But then there was a closeup of Greeny and he has a balding problem also! The ageing process affecting two stalwarts and good mates. They both better have a chat with Warney!
  15. Wrong mate. You couldn't be more wrong! Brucey really celebrated his goals for us. Every one of them.
  16. I can think of two really great Demons who wore Number 35. Noel McMahen , premiership captain in our golden era and the fabulous Donny Williams. If luke can play like these two then he has a magnificent future. What a wonderful debut game from him. Love his build. Almost makes Chappy look under- nourished.
  17. 6. Moloney 5. Trengove 4. Bennell 3. Tapscott 2. Jamar 1. Garland
  18. Well said cranky. We'll see how our youth policy works without Junior and Cameron. We could have had both this season if not for the so called 'youth policy'. Successful clubs manage to combine youth and experience. We are lacking badly in the latter. Time will tell.
  19. You were correct about new teams performing better than expected in their first season. Sydney 9th 12 wins 10 losses, WC 8th 11-11, Adelaide 9th 10-12, port 9th 10-11, 1 draw, Dockers 13th 8=14, Brisbane 2nd last 6-16. Maybe I should upgrade Gold Coast's wins to 6!
  20. It is a HUGE call 'Gooner' BUT if you were right it would make a mockery of the system. By that I mean leapfrogging clubs like us, Richmond, North, West Coast etc. I voted for 4 wins which is all a synthetic team should be able to win in its first season. All the other newly created clubs never received the financial help that Gold Coast and GWS are receiving from the AFL. Look how Brisbane started with a group of unwanted players from existing clubs.
  21. That incident has stuck in my memory bank too. So typical of Sean throughout his entire football career.
  22. This is so sad. Sean was a fabulous player with so much heart, guts, skills and huge work rate. Good luck Sean, we are right behind you for a full recovery as we are with Jimma. Two of my all-time favourite players.
  23. You beat me to it 'Hell Bent". Laughable comment by a poster who reckons he doesn't like bashing players. Extremely harsh and unfair to claim Sam Blease has no heart when he hasn't played a game yet. Wait for the real season mate to question a player's heart. Jack Watts is ready to GO! Morton will be very useful when he resumes too.
  24. Great work Superman! It's a wonderful site. So detailed. You can add my namesake to most goals on debut list. Bob McKenzie 5 v Essendon 1948
  25. My ladder prediction 2011 1. Hawthorn 2. C'wood 3. Western Bulldogs 4.St Kilda 5.Geelong 6.Carlton 7. Fremantle 8. Sydney 9. Adelaide 10. North Melbourne 11. Melbourne 12. Essendon 13. Port Adelaide 14. West Coast 15. Richmond 16. Brisbane 17. Gold Coast
