  1. Nothing wrong with Yze's first half either.
  2. OK. We were crunched by 45 points. But there were real positives today. YZE ( what a game and what a goal!), I bet all his critics will be silent this week. DAVEY ( allowed to roam loose and he did it well which was good coaching by Danners), DUNN ( lively in our forward line both attackingly and defensively), PICKETT ( underdone but did well in his first game back), and our excellent desperation with our fierce tackling and back up. We also ran out the game well ,a credit to Bohdan Babijczuk and his fitness boys. This was despite the fact we had Bell Jones and Whelan injured early in the second quarter). We all know we have a shockingly unbelievable spate of injuries but how many AFL teams could cover having possibly 10 of their best 22 players unavailable? Come on guys, name them!
  3. Couldn't agree more! Well spoken demonboy 13. Hope Cameron has a well deserved scorcher with 40 possessions and that his teammates LIFT!
  4. Thanks Jaded for the info.
  5. Thanks for your reply Rod.
  6. I have been on this forum for about 18 months. This year I have to go through the annoying routine of entering my username and password when I haven't made a contribution to the forum for a few days. This was not a problem last season. What has changed?
  7. Thanks Choko for your thoughts. Are you really a lawyer? I also now realise that I will get into trouble for creating this thread ( Jaded will be onto me.) I should have read the Selwood thread before posting as all the arguments appear there. Sorry Jaded.
  8. The AFL tribunal have created a very dangerous precedent. After you hit someone you say that they insulted a very close relative and you're in the clear. Headland was found guilty of one striking charge but has not been penalised because of "Exceptional circumstances". Given that Eagle Sellwood was CLEARED of his alleged family insult what could be the so called "Exceptional circumstances?" I'm not a lawyer but maybe someone can enlighten me on this amazing verdict. The tribunal have gone mad.
  9. I wasn't actually criticising team selection but just wondered who, besides Neale, picked the team. Maybe it's time however to try a few more young guys.
  10. On this forum we all like to express our thoughts as to which players should be chosen to represent MFC each week. Naturally, we don't all agree. Most of the blame is aimed at Neale Daniher for having all the say in who is playing. Can someone please tell me and others (if they don't know) who is on the MFC selection panel? Is it just the coaches etc or are there some experienced ex Demon players voting on who gets a game or not?JADED or WHISPERING JACK surely one of you two learned gentlemen know the answer?
  11. Another ex Melbourne player? Come on DV8 tell us who you are! We certainly welcome ex players and respect their views.
  12. WELL SAID SLANDER! I often wonder how many of our posters have played much sport themselves. I fear that too many of them are mere spectators. Those that have played a lot of sport like I have will appreciate that form is something we have little control over. We don't go out onto the playing field expecting to play below par, but occasionally we do. FORM is a lot to do with confidence in ourselves and our teammates. TJ and Davey are out of form but to suggest they be dropped is ridiculous. Do their critics forget their brilliant games of the past? Very few if any, mentioned our gallant comeback after being 42 points down at one stage. I personally had belief when we were just 7 points down and on a roll, that we could pip the hawks. It wasn't to be but they did show guts. Be positive guys and gals, we can get back! Go Dees!
  13. I have just read that Phil Read will be playing for the Geelong VFL team this season. What happened here? Was he not required at Sandy or did he get a better offer from Geelong? Maybe he just didn't want to be associated with Melbourne after being delisted. Does anyone know the full story?
  14. WHAT! Whelan is gone for LEGITIMATE SHEPHERDING with his back to the St Kilda player. Surely, the AFL aren't going to ban shepherding from our great game. This is not basketball! What rubbish.
  15. I agree with most of your points but you are way way out in your rubbishing of Jones. He had 11 possessions in the first quarter alone which is not the usual indication of an overwhelmed player. ( "Totally overwhelmed" in fact according to you.) He kept on putting himself in and set a shining example of guts to some of his more experienced mates. Give the kid a break Joeboy, he's going to be an out and out champion for the MFC.
  16. I have it on good authority that the current aerobic fitness levels of our boys is far far superior to levels of the past few seasons. It seems Bohdan and his fitness boys are developing a team that will not fade during a match and more importantly not fade towards the season's end. Also they are very pleased with the excellent progress made by Moloney. Roll on season 2007!
  17. I too am very unconvinced about the severity of Cousin's suspension. He could be back for round 1 in my humble opinion. He's too good a player for the Eagles to leave out .
  18. Like most people, I am not worried about the loss today but I have just one question. Where were Davey and Pickett today? I hope they are not injured already.
  19. Could you please add me to the DVD list of the great Robbie Flower. Bobby McK.
