In my tipping competition I tipped Port to win because of our injuries and players coming in not being match fit. I also selected Port to be my SAFE winning team in my knock out competition. Sad to read of the passing of a very loyal demon, Clive Fairbairn. Clive played over 200 games with the MCC and was well known for his love of the Demons and the Melbourne Football Club. A "Rat of Tobruk, he was a life member of the MCC, and was awarded an OAM for his services to the game of cricket and encouragement of young kids. Surprised there was no mention of his passing on the MFC website.

Absolutely spot on. The Bulldogs were forced to get rid of the ball in a big hurry all night because of our ferocious tackling and bustling. I thought our boys were magnificent and did not deserve to lose. BUT the men? in PINK had other ideas. Could not believe the field umpire twice bullying the goal umpire re his decision. Was it the same umpire on BOTH occasions? The Goal umpire, of course could still have signalled the goals (plural} as according to the rules he has the power to make his OWN decision unless HE has some doubt. Can't say I 'm sorry to see Brad Johnson and Eagleton out. Johnson is always dangerous and Eagleton seems to lift against us. His little bald head seems to bob up everywhere. Makes me think we are a real chance. Wouldn't put my house on it though. I too think we missed McKenzie very much last week. He puts so much pressure on the opposition ball carriers. When I saw Harriet Cordner's photo I couldn't help thinking how much she resembled Don Cordner. A descendant of the great man for sure.
