  1. Fortunately it was short. Have you critics of my comment ever thought that maybe, just maybe CC had a bit of [censored] on the Liver that day? Gee, a bloke makes an HONEST APPRAISAL of HIS experience with Connolly and your down on him like a ton of bricks! Like as if he's making it up.FFS.
  2. Having met Connolly once I'm not surprised. Very abrasive. Good footballer though.
  3. Bruce paid back the club in full plus interest with his efforts over his long career of 224 games. Their treatment of McDonald was an absolute disgrace. Please don't try and tell me we couldn't have retained Cam if WE WANTED TO. It will be interesting to see what will happen when Green, Davey, Rivers and co. reach the MFC 'retirement' age of 30. Will they then revise their youth policy when we haven't achieved our dream of a premiership or even come close?
  4. Facts? Ten years in the top 6 in B&F, Runner up twice, Winner once, more Brownlow votes than any other Demon over the same period of time. yes, much more than Greeny. These are the FACTS man! No weakness there.
  5. Yeah tough guy how much AFL did you play? Ten years top 6 in B&F, yeah he was a real liability! Get real and bury your personal hatred.
  6. So you can't have any respect for Ronald Dale Barassi. Sad,so sad to have such a bitter outlook.
  7. It's just a shame the Bruce bashers couldn't follow suit and follow the example set by the club and its players. I think it's called RESPECT for a great Melbourne footballer by his former teammates.
  8. Obviously unacceptable in Cam's eyes and Bailey and Co refused to even budge on it. If they had wanted him to stay they could have without any bother. They just didn't want him any more. That's my take. We are all entitled to our opinions are we not? Until I hear anything to the contrary from Bruce himself I'll stay with my personal view on the matter.
  9. Nope. He wasn't pushed, he was GENTLY shown the door. Bailey and co. offered him an unacceptable contract knowing that Cam would conveniently refuse. They couldn't ask him to 'retire' as well as Junior in the same year could they? Read between the lines. Cam worked so hard over his years at Melbourne and his best mate is Brad Green our most likely captain next year. Not the usual scenario for a guy to walk.
  10. Thanks mate. I was beginning to think I hadn't read it.
  11. And there was a bloke called Barassi and he did all right too. I can just imagine our Bruce critics raving on about Ron's walking out of the club. They would be making inane comments like,"He was useless, [censored] poor, greedy etc, etc." He would be the worst in the world.
  12. He was quoted just after his sacking by the club in either the Age or Herald Sun. Grab a back copy for yourself if you doubt me.
  13. Most people's opinion? Ever heard of the phrase the noisy MINORITY? You kid yourself Yze Magic disciple.
  14. Apart from your thoughts that he won't be a huge loss, I thought your comments were spot on. A fair minded poster at last!
  15. Was I trying to compare Bruce 's ability with theirs? No way, I was just pointing out that one can play well beyond the age of 30 and continue to play well.
  16. And getting rid of of Junior and Cam is hardly going to see us gain any momentum in 2011. I think we will struggle due to our serious lack of EXPERIENCE. BTW for those who think Bruce walked out consider his comment that Bailey and co showed complete CONTEMPT towards him. Akin to them saying,"Thanks mate for 11 great seasons, here is the door." Fitness, not age, should have been considered here and Bruce certainly doesn't have any fitness problems. I mean, is 31 really ancient? Remember Robert Harvey and Craig Bradley? They were in their late 30's and still playing great footy. Sad also to see the comments here of the old Bruce knockers. They just can't help themselves with all their completely inaccurate crap about him as a player.
  17. I thought it was against Demonland policy to write the word COLLINGWOOD! There Chook, I have done it!
  18. I was having a chat about footy with a mate of mine ( yes, even if he does go for Collingw&%$) He surprised me by saying that in our lifetimes ( we are both the same age), Melbourne has been much more successful in the way of premierships. He pointed out Collingw&%$'s premiership years as 1958 ( Ahh, I still haven't got over that one yet), 1990 and 2010.( A total of just 3 ). Melbourne, in my time on this earth have achieved no fewer than 10 PREMIERSHIPS. 1939, 1940, 1941, 1948, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1959, 1960, and 1964. I'm pleased to say that I don't remember 1939-1941 but I was around. Sadly, it looks like I've put all my eggs into the one basket and like you all the drought has been far too long. Let us hope that we can very soon break the hoodoo.
  19. Do you talk to yourself often?
  20. You got it Goffy! Your first line says it all!!!!!
  21. Can't sleep High Tower? Worrying about our treatment of Brucey?
  22. I'm sure Bailey would have defended his treatment of Bruce by stating that Bruce's 2011 form would have had a bearing on his future at MFC. It simply was not mentioned. Don't put your head in the sand mate.
  23. I'm sure what hurt Cam the most was that we were NOT EVEN PREPARED to say, " If you play well next season, we MAY look at giving you another one year contract."( No PROMISE of a further one year contract) ). They did not even contemplate that did they? if that is not like saying "one more year and you are finished' I don't know what is. No,sadly you have been shafted Cam. No doubt about it.
  24. Our policy is too rigid regarding age. Bruce was one of the FITTEST guys in the team and his form is good. No, they just looked at the calendar and said, "See you Cam!"
