  1. Salem was hardly setting the world on fire prior to his injury. We know his talent but it hasn't been shown to its full extent this season. I have no problem with him being made to earn his spot. God knows the two players coming in this week have. If he's not quite at 100% it makes the decision even easier. Michie is actually a very neat kick, btw. I hope he plays well. The negative posts whenever he gets selected are draining to read.
  2. Damn. I knew there'd be another CS I hadn't accounted for. Yeah I meant Col.
  3. Pleasantly surprised by the changes. Michie is better than the no hoper he gets painted as on here, and ANB has smashed the door down. Good luck to both. i would've kept Pedo personally but if Weed is fit then he has showed he's capable.
  4. So I wonder who the mystery person was that began to hate footy and saw it as a job only? CS springs to mind. Not Schwabby, the other CS.
  5. Would be happy to see either of Michie or ANB replace Harmes but am anticipating them being named in the 25 man squad is a good will gesture only.
  6. Such a smug [censored]. Rioli rattled off words to a similar effect. The signs are there that the decline has begun. I just hope it's a steep drop and Lewis continues to hang around for a thrashing or two at the hands of GWS and MFC. No player deserves it more.
  7. I know he couldn't say much publicly regarding trading Deledio, but his scoffing at the idea of Jack Steele AND Marchbank for Deledio was interesting. Behind closed doors he'd surely have to be giving that sort of offer serious consideration. It's difficult to tell if the refusal to accept where they are at is more of a Hardwick problem or a Richmond problem.

  9. It will be strange if Hunt doesn't get a nomination as he's probably been the best of Melbourne's eligible players this season.
  10. Well deserved. By far it was the most comfortable he's looked at the level.
  11. Thank god Essendon beat the Suns today. Being the only side to lose to them this season would've ranked high in the embarrassment stakes.
  12. 6. Tyson 5. Jetta 4. Gawn 3. T McDonald 2. O McDonald 1. Jones
  13. Hunt on track to getting that Rising Star nom.
  14. Magic Door is playing like a man possessed against the Hawks. Still too inconsistent for mine but he can certainly turn it on.
  15. The Bulldogs sure do play in a lot of absolute eyesore matches.
  16. It's true that he looks and plays EXACTLY like a player that Melbourne would've drafted under BP It's a very different club now though and he has natural talent without question. He's worth looking at imo. Depends on the asking price.
  17. Zero interest.
  18. Never in doubt. *wipes brow*
  19. Gave a kick up the backside when warranted. Results since: two wins and a loss (which should've been a win).
  20. You can freeze frame these things to death sometimes. I was okay with it.
  21. Didn't look high to me. Don't really care about the AFL's convoluted take on these incidents but if the end outcome is that he gets to play next week then I'm okay with that. Was a good hit.

He does seem pretty attached to his mate Billy. Not saying it would be a deciding factor, just an influencing one. No way I'd be letting ANB go if it can be avoided. He will be a player down the track. That said, with the amount of talent on the list, one or two guns slipping through the fingers is almost inevitable. I'm not as keen to get the broom out as others when we are sitting top of the VFL table. Depth is a strength at the moment so delisting of players like Michie and Newton needs to be carefully considered as they who are both still reasonably young and placing pressure upon those in the seniors. They themselves may seek out opportunities elsewhere. Players I see being moved on are Terlich and Grimes with Dunn, Dawes and Spencer all possibilities to be playing elsewhere next season. I'd keep Garland at least for depth as he is more adaptable to the attacking game plan. We need cool heads in charge of these decisions. Obviously the club is in a much healthier point now, but we've seen what can happen when you let a bunch of senior players go in one hit. I'd be happy seeing changes staggered over the next two years rather than a whole heap at once, but a lot will depend on whether certain players are happy to stick around knowing where they sit in the pecking order.
  23. "Simon Goodwin must feel like a kid in a candy store" Fair to say that Jono Brown is a fan of the list that has been assembled.
