Michie with 1 lousy tackle again. You're killin me Viv.
-
Harmes was very poor. Can't remember a touch in the first half that wasn't a fumble or a turnover If one poor game is enough then he'd be the one, I'd be looking at others before Oliver to come in though.
-
Thomas is a fair call.
-
I'm trying to think of a player I'd less like to recruit. Zac Dawson perhaps. But it's a close call. Really cannot stand this sniping [censored]. Complete spud to match. I tell myself I could cheer for any player in a red and blue jumper. Vickery would be the ultimate test.

I agree with this, but persistence usually pays off when you're getting that many repeat entries. When the umps decided to put the whistle away, we just didn't get that eventual reward. Kent was tugged back (twice) in the pocket. Hogan had defenders all over him on a couple of occasions. I'm sure there were other 50/50s that on another day could've gone our way. Of course we'd then have been left with another set shot, which to me was by far the worst enemy - accuracy in front of goal. You can talk about quality of entires and ball movement etc, but if the kicking for goal improves even 25% we win the game. It really can become a virus. When Watts missed his I knew it was looking fatal.

lol...so true.

We need to extract everything we can out of Jones and Vince because of that void immediately behind them in the 23-27 bracket It's another reason why Prestia would be a good pick up. He helps plug that gap..
-
He's looked a bit lost in recent weeks but overall I think that's a little harsh when you consider his best games this season (versus Collingwood and Essendon for example). At 22 it's a matter of how he progresses from this point. He's been at his best when also getting on the outside and providing some run and carry. Recently he seems to have been caught playing the handball ring a rosy game. He's tough, fast and skilful, but quick decisonmaking doesn't seem to be his forte.
-
There's a few who would blow a gasket over it, but I'd be happy seeing Grimes given another run on the G in the red and blue. Probably won't happen.
-
Anyone know the coaches votes?
-
O Mac surely comes out. Roos was speculating on giving him a rest for the remaining weeks prior to the match. The better of Dunn or Garland to come in. Harmes would be the other one I'd be looking at to make way if anyone stands out for Casey. Michie a possibility as it stands just on weight of performances.
-
Brayshaw did some brilliant things and some horrendous things. By my reckoning he broke even. I have little doubt he'll be a very good player.
-
6. N Jones - Th next person who says this bloke isn't an A grade footballer needs to uppercut themselves immediately 5. Gawn - Star 4. Frost - Best of the back six. Finally starting to use his size and strength along with his speed 3. M Jones - Have to go close to his best game for the club. Didn't do a thing wrong all day that I can recall 2. Kent - A mixed bag but the good outweighed the bad. Very laconic at times, to put it kindly 1. Tyson - Lots of the ball, lots of tackles, lots of work rate, could've used it lots better
-
RIP tv remote. We had some good times. The biggest inside 50 differential that West Coast have ever conceded at home. And we still didn't win. A step forward. But it should've been a massive stride.
-
We are DOMINATNG this game and still finding ways to [censored] lose it.
-
He's a B grader apparently.
-
Petracca is just a beast.
-
You bewwwty. About time we got a cheap turnover in front of goal.
-
Might be my favourite aspect so far. Locals are getting very restless
-
Matt Jones kicking goals. Might be our day.
-
Clever kick Gussy
-
The wet actually widened the gap between us and Sydney.

If Prestia is dumb enough to choose Richmond I'll pity him more than anything. I like Pendles because of his playing ability and his professionalism. I rationalise it (clearly tongue in cheek I thought but perhaps not clear enough) by his supporting the MFC as a kid. A little bit snippy for a Saturday afternoon mate. Wait until the final siren today before getting your angry pants on.

The sounds coming out of the club this week suggest it was an intense review, as it should have been. I don't ascribe to the theory that external pressure has no influence. I believe it does, and broader recognition of what is and isn't acceptable contributes towards getting to where we want to get to as a club. Part of that is saying last Sunday was well below expectation. The acceptance of Melbourne as a perennial failure and disappointment has gone on for too long. I'm thankful we have a voice or two in the media who still care enough to set a higher expectation. A couple of ill-considered remarks about development doesn't take away from what I interpeted as the main message: not good enough. It's a simple message but also an important one. Never moreso than right now when we are just starting to regain some respect.
