  2. Wellingham would be #1, if only so he could sow seeds of how good playing and working for MFC is to his housemate.
  3. Fitzroy aren't the Lions anymore, they're the Reds.
  4. They did sow the seeds of letting him go, with him turning back and coming here in 2 years. Let's see who blinks first.
  5. Signed with Collingwood. http://t.co/t88ZJPOt
  6. All I can say is: I hope Todd packed his psych tests.
  7. If you want to go repeatability, I'd hit up Adam Dale instead.
  8. Chen Shao Liang from China has been invited to the Draft *shudder* Combine. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/147940/default.aspx Given we're trying to push into China, surely we could do worse than have a go at this guy?
  9. Finals crowds: 2 Adelaide finals, a Sydney final and a Perth final certainly wouldn't have helped numbers. Essendon went on a downward spiral, and their fans are as fickle as anything, and an Essendon-supporting friend of mine has said that she hasn't seen such low attendances in years. Same goes for Richmond, if we're being honest.
  10. Exactly. GWS got exactly what they wanted, without having to give up anything. (Massive salary notwithstanding) And I think this has been overlooked in the whole FA free-for-all; GWS can still pick up a player from any club other than Adelaide, Melbourne, Fremantle and the Bulldogs. I'm sure Gubby will be rubbing his hands together with glee at this distraction.
  11. Essendon supporters are drooling over him. And we thought OUR midfield was pox.
  12. Paul Roos is a [censored] of the highest order. Nah, there's no way Fitzroy required their captain and best player in 1995. I wait with bated breath for someone in the media to challenge him on this. I doubt it'll happen, though.
  13. To be fair, I think Mumford was. Swans tabled an offer there was no way Geelong could match. On the other hand, a highly under-appreciated factor in their success may well be the one thing that they continually point to as a weakness: the Sydney media don't really care for them unless they're winning. Compare that to the Melbourne football media cycle, and it's plain to see that as PEOPLE, they're under far less of a strain from these external sources. IMO, this is far more of a strength than the oft-repeated extra salary cap room.
  14. I'll give 'em a 3rd-round pick and Kelvin Lawrence.
  15. Nah. Heaps of posters on here want the 'Moneyball' approach; let's take it to its obvious conclusion!
  16. Don't be surprised when it's somehow Bohdan's fault......
  17. 'Developed a broken jaw'? As far as diagnoses go, that's up there with: "I found myself pregnant."
  18. I'm personally glad the footage doesn't show the godawful decision making directly after the mark.
  19. Dang. I was hoping this was going to be the token D&D thread.
  20. No, thank YOU Andy. For those who haven't already, now would be the time to show some real appreciation.... http://demonland.com/donate.html
  21. By all reports, it was champagne with breakfast. Not exactly a stiff drink. That came later, with the cocktail that bears his name. Churchill: Ingredients: 2 jiggers of chilled gin, 1 unopened bottle of vermouth. Instructions: Pour gin into a martini glass. Wave bottle of vermouth over. Drink.
  22. Oh my god, you people. Breaking story: TWITTER IS NOT A RELIABLE SOURCE I had a giggle, and moved on. This is the biggest non-issue I think I've ever seen.
  23. What a way to announce the first free agency signing!
  24. Jamie Bennell in a wheelchair.
