I would argue that that move saved his career (well prolonged it for a few years at least). Couldn't get into it playing in the forward line, Bailey switched his role to a tagger so he could work on his defensive game. Shut down some quality mids (Harvey, Watson, Pearce to name a few). Then went forward in the second half of 2010 and finally got some real consistency going, kicking bags of 3-4 regularly. Done [censored] all since obviously but it will be interesting to see how he goes under Neeld. Good to hear these training reports too, sounds like the boys want to get on with business.

I did like Jones's first half. Good hands in close and his kicking has improved. Besides Magner, he had no help all day. The Black/Rich combo alone was just too much.

I've sat through a lot of terrible games in the last 5-6 years. There's two that stand out that more than any other - the Richmond loss in '07 and now today. This one hurts.

Great work by the kid. Reading the Casey report on him got me excited. Laid some good hard tackles and was good defensively.

Yes he is and it's because the Toigs probably have one of the best midfield's going at the moment. They're a fair way ahead of us in that department, however they're probably 2-3 KPP's short of going with the best.

I don't think Darling will be a star, or rather, I don't think he'll be what most here are talking him up to be. He played for a very well structured side last year and had an ample supply from a top 4 quality midfield. And if you tuned into any Casey games early last year, you'd know Cook's well worth persisting with and is an extremely exciting prospect.

I say let the young man establish himself first before we place such a burden on him. I think he needs at least another year.

Hopefully, once his endurance builds up, Tappy will be moved to the midfield. We were a terrible clearance team this year and I think he could help fix that. And if the Sellar experiment works out, as well as Tom McDonald waiting in the wings, Rivers could well find himself out of the 22 by the end of next year.

No. He played on Thornton all day. That was back when Carlton lacked quality talls, so they didn't really have a match-up for him.
