  1. As long as they play their roles it will. As long as it's a player we get 100% buy in from, then that's fine by me. Sure I'd prefer Treloar, Dangerfield or O'Meara to say Aaron Hall. But as long as the player we get plays his role for the team then it will help.
  2. Josh Walker
  3. He's a good player no doubt, but don't see where he fits in. He's a ruckman first and not a forward who rucks which is what we need.
  4. Thanks KC. Good to see Hutchins get a few votes. You think he may be likely to get picked up by an AFL club next year like all the good Casey defenders (Silvagni, Faulks, Mohr) do?
  5. Haven't given up hope on Dangerfield as our big fish midfielder, but failing him, any of: Jaegar O'Meara Josh Kelly or Harley Bennell in that order to provide outside run to our midfield group. Failing a big fish any of: Aaron Hall Jed Anderson Ben Kennedy Paul Seedsman or Nathan Wright as a role player to provide some outside run to our midfield. One of: David MacKay Jackson Ramsay James Kelly or Jed Adcock off half back. Jack Redden or Andrew Moore as a utility Josh Walker to replace Dawes as 2nd key forward who can go into the ruck. Daniel Currie or Daniel Gorringe as ruck depth and compete with Spencer for the back up ruckman gig.
  6. I thought about Karnezis the other day. Reason being that given we were into Tom Lynch, i figured we were looking for someone to play that 3rd tall forward role with an ability to push up the ground and move through the midfield. Karnezis was the first guy i thought of after Lynch. However given it sounds as though we will sign Garland, i assume one of he or Dunn will move forward to play that role with Frost coming into the backline. So there for no need for Karnezis. If Garland does walk though then i'd be interested in Karnezis. What's the word about having a bad attitude?
  7. Hawks over West Coast Freo over Sydney Adelaide over Dogs North over Richmond Adelaide over West Coast Sydney over North Freo over Adelaide Hawks over Sydney Freo over Hawks Break their duck and officially start Hawthorns decline.
  8. Not against taking Adcock, but dependent on if we land a big fish or not. If we get a big fish then it's a yes for me as we'll have less currency to bring in other good foot soldiers. If there's no big fish to be landed, then we should have enough currency to find better options.
  9. If Garland does stay, which is sounding more likely then not. Then I'd like to see them move him forward next year as a 3rd tall who can push up the ground in the manner Tom Lynch does for Adelaide. This would allow a spot for Sam Frost in our back 6 with Tommy Mac and Dunn.
  10. And is currently out of favour. Contracted players get traded all the time.
  11. DELIST: Cross Jamar McKenzie Bail Riley Terlich (re-rookied) PROMOTE OFF ROOKIE LIST: Vandenberg Harmes RETAIN AS ROOKIES: King White MOVE OUT THROUGH FREE AGENCY: Garland TRADE OUT: Howe Grimes Dawes Fitzpatrick TRADE IN: Daniel Gorringe Aaron Hall Patrick Karnezis David MacKay Josh Walker DELISTED FREE AGENT: Daniel Markworth NATIONAL DRAFT: Three selections in top 30. 1st & 2nd round picks plus Garland compo. 12. Heard from a good source that he'll be gone at years end.
  13. A win tonight for North may still be good for them. Assuming the Dogs beat Brisbane and Adelaide beat Geelong then North will play the Dogs and Crows will host Richmond. As for Hodge there's no way you get a reading of .068 from only 3 or 4 beers unless he smashed them in about 45min and then jumped straight in the car.
  14. Wont lie, this actually causes me some concern. Although he certainly has shown something, I think the biggest worry with Jimmy is his clear lack of confidence. What I mean by that, is that surely it's no coincidence, that because it was his man in his break out game that kicked the winning goal, that Jimmy went straight back into his shell in the following weeks. I hope he makes it, I really do. But personally I thought now was the time to trade him.
  15. Nice win by the Aussies in the end to finish off a disapointing series. Very odd way the whole thing played out, we had the two leading run scorers and thre eof the top 4 wicket takers for the series, yet loose the Ashes? Haddin's drop of Root on the first morning could wel have been the critical point of the whole series. New era under Smith will begin now starting with the tour of Bangladesh. So will be interesting to see what the makeup of the team will be? Think it may be along the lines of: Cameron Bancroft (seems a lock to make his debut) David Warner (vice captain) Joe Burns/Usman Khawaja (not sure which will get the nod. Personally I think Burns has a better game/balance between defence & attack.) Steve Smith (captain, number 4 suits better.) Adam Voges/Peter Handscomb (Voges saved his spot for now with two half centuries in his last two innings. Poor series in Bangladesh will see Handscomb debut IMO.) Mitch Marsh/Glenn Maxwell (All rounder spot should become rotatable I reckon. Seaming wicket Marsh, spinning wicket Maxwell. So in Australia, England. South Africa, New Zeland - Marsh, Asia & Windies Maxwell) Peter Nevill (will be given a run as keeper, although I'm not convinced yet. Wade & Ludeman breathing down his neck.) Mitchell Johnson (lead the attack. Eye should be on 2017/18 Ashes swansong. Starc as the standbye Mitch.) Pat Cummins/James Pattinson (whichever is fit at the time. Will be good to see Cummins.) Peter Siddle (I'd have him as a lock in the XI for his control. Hazlewood & Sandhu should keep the heat on, but Sidds has it for now.) Nathan Lyon (easily our best spinner. Agar, Zampa & Muirhead need to show something.)
  16. I know we're right on top. But Mitchell Starc's bowling today has been concerning. He's all over the place at the moment. I suspect this may be the last time they play the two left arm quicks together (baring injuries). Better balance may be Johnson, Siddle, Cummins.
  17. And now the other retiree Rogers has dropped Bell also. Much harder chance, but this is getting a joke. But thankfully now Bell is out anyway caught by Clarke. Odd last 20min!
  18. Haha! Yeah Viney/Brayshaw, but you which one captain & vice captain you could go either way. Tom McDonald & Alex Neal-Bullen have leadership group stamped all over them.
  19. Clarke drops one in his final test. Hope it isn't costly....
  20. We ,may struggle if some of the sticking points of his contract are a job lined up with the Knapstein Brewery after his playing days & VIP treatment around the Barossa Valley...
  21. Cats now need to win their last two and hope one of North or Adelaide drop all their remaining games. Pushing up hill!
  22. Siddle gets the 1st wicket of the 2nd innings. I'm telling you, he's back!
  23. Well they didn't do that very well today, coming back from 20 points down to win....
  24. Looks like Clarke is enforcing the follow on for the first time. Rogers & Warner not racing off at the end of the innings as per usual. We may not see Clarke or Rogers bat again....
  25. If we can get him in the rookie draft then all good. I suspect if someone bids on him at the National Draft though, then we'll let them have him.
