  1. Try this: Martin Flanagan
  2. INteresting observation.
  3. OMG he's going to the Gold Coast@@@@@@!!!!!!!!! It's laughable that a manager would discuss this sort of thing freely. Not saying it ain't true and you have named names but its not very professional if true....... As for Rich - he has won a RIsing Star, has played around 40 games and played in finals. He's an integral part of their midfield. Given the club nurtured Jack as a 17yo through school the whole thread seems bollocks to me Also comparing player payments doesn't really work very accurately as each club has different issues with regards to cap issues and players are at different levels of development.
  4. They are not all going to make it either no matter we think of their 'potential'. Because it will depend on how hard they want to work and drive themselves to improve. The rates of failure among AFL players are legendary. Our capability of turning good players into elite players isn't flash altho I think we have a very good chance of getting a couple of marquee players out of this bunch.
  5. The whole game is about turnovers, I50's and stoppages. Minimise turnovers increase our I50s and win the stoppages and we have won the game. Simple really. Against the Toiges we didn't win the I50s but made them pay for their turnovers, had minimal ones ourselves and won the stoppages. Our I50s were extremely efficient which is a credit to our fwd line. We cannot afford to do the same against the DOrks. We need to be tighter and cleaner. Must shut down Mitchell, Hodge, Bateman and Lewis. Their backline isn't much chop so a draw in the midfield will see us in with a good shot. A win in the centre will see us go a long way to winning the game.
  6. They are both 'smart' footballers. If they can't get the ball they are working to get it to a team mate with a clever tap on or bump off the ball etc. Hard to teach that stuff and you need a few of these in the team. Watts I think would qualify for that tag as well.
  7. You would no doubt be a fully paid up member of the Hellfire club wanting to watch that again!
  8. I can understand people's thoughts re previous drives for cash. The club should do the honourable thing and recognise past contributions. The question is how when in some cases - like the bricks at the MCG- it may not be possible to do so. It probably is not a priority having just moved but I'm sure Cam Schwab and Jimma who are trying to bring the club's past back together would see the sense in not disenfranchising past supporters.
  9. I don't think there is an alternative word for thesaurus which is unusual.....
  10. Its hardly a secret! MAybe if they lose Kennett is gone! The players will finally be happy..
  11. Ha nice pick up!
  12. What's another word for thesaurus??
  13. Grimes - test! Sensational.
  14. As far as I know Cale was an emergency but had to attend the game as Moloney went out, Jones came in. If we had an injury during warm up then Morton would have come in.
  15. Err yeah. Dunn on Hodge. Dunn creamed Deledio who was in AA form before last week. And need I remind you kicked 5 goals of his own. Swans played Ryan O'Keefe on him last week and he stopped him. He is their most important player along with Buddy. Here's how I see the rest: Bruce and Sylvia to Mitchell and Burgoyne. Must stop them both. Maybe even Morton runs with Burgoyne. Bartram to Bateman. Warnock to Roughead. Garland to Franklin. Stopped him in 2008 when Garland was fit and Buddy was in his 100 goal Coleman medal year. Frawley to Lewis?? Rivers to Brown. Has the mongrel in him I reckon after watching him in the rooms boxing last week! Our rucks need to have a big one and our fwds will be a huge problem for their backs - that is their weakest point. We simply have to create more inside 50 entries and not turn the ball over. Gibson, Ellis, Murphy, Schoenmakers are not yet up to it as a unit.
  16. Do a search on his quotes. Pretty ridiculous most of the time. He could be just stupid I guess....
  17. Bruce is happy about Guerra not playing!
  18. Troll alert....
  19. This deadbeat is a troll. Ignore him.
  20. Dunn was on Deledio.
  21. Garland played very well on Buddy during his 2008 100 goal year. Kept him to 3 goals which given the run he was having ad the fact we were shiite was seen by all as a tremendous effort. From memory they might have been talking Rising Star nomination?? Warnock has been playing very well but not sure he can jump like Roughy or compete with Franklin's athleticism.
  22. Bail was moved to Newman in the second half. A lot of Newman's stats were cheapies out of the backline. Yes he did some good things but I don't believe he was damaging. And Bail's attack on the footy in the last quarter was terrific. His pack split. pirouhette, run and perfect pass to Watts for a goal was outstanding.
  23. You clearly didn't watch him teach Martin a lesson. Martin is a gun but had his colours lowered yesterday.. And Jnr will play on Mitchell nxt week. He is our Captain and will NOT be going out!
  24. You are Morton right? Or a brother? Or related? Here's what you said on another post: Here's my response again for you: Wow. Where do I start with this post. Every TV commentator was salivating at how fast Melbourne runs, spreads and moves the ball. I agree. And we were still running at the end. Not sure what game you watched. McKenzie has been a revelation this year - its hard to have much outside when you are the one inside getting the pill!! But the few times I have seen him receiving and giving he has proved to be pretty good. "The club is ruining Morton" - ROTFL - yep Morton is unhappy. But until he plays more defensively like the coaches want (and have told him repeatedly) he won't get back into the team. Morton more than any other player has been given an armchair ride to get games under his belt. Some might say he has had it too easy. A bit like the spoiled kid that doesn't have to work hard to get what he wants. Cale will learn. And he won't want to miss out on the next few years at the Dees. Oh, and the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree so when you look at his two brothers they also have difficulties with their coaches because they are perhaps too pigheaded to play the way the coach wants. Mitch Morton has only just got back into the Toiges side because Hardwick is trying to teach him to play a more team orientated game. As for DB not coping too well with players that are unhappy you have given me my first big belly laugh for the week. (thanks!) You could have added McLean to the list as well. Buckley was "uncoachable" according to one of the coaches I spoke to - wouldn't listen or do what was asked. He hasn't yet played a game at the Filth so maybe he hasn't learned a thing or maybe he is just not good enough. McLean was dropped for his lack of defensive effort. Didn't like it and left - great. Johnson was similar and hasn't set the world on fire either. No-one is lamenting the loss of any one of them. On the other hand, Dunn, Warnock and Bate have had spells at Casey to learn their craft the way the coaches want them to play. I applaud the coaches for this stance and can see readily that if you don't want to play the way the coach wants you are out. Warnock is doing great guns, Dunn has improved dramatically and Bate will learn his lesson. Let's hope Morton does as well. I nearly forgot your Junior comment. Ignorance at its best. Martin will finish top 2 or 3 in the Toiges B&F. Gun midfielder. Junior taught him a lesson. You couldn't have been watching could you?
  25. Correct. Corky is fixed. Thigh/quad now injured.
