  1. And a newbie.. Hmmm I smell a rat.......
  2. Jones has already played finals. Just sayin....
  3. I imagine there are plenty examples of coaches being successful that haven't played the game. Not senior coaches perhaps if that is what you are referring to but certainly assistants. Someone like Ric Charlesworth comes to mind. He was instrumental in changing the way West Coast play.
  4. There you are banging on about it again (and you deny doing so !)
  5. Don't we just put Garland on the LTI list?
  6. Very sad for Col. His best was tremendous but we didn't see it much in the past few years. Loyal servant of the club. Hard to see him coming back from this but wish him all the best.
  7. Stop banging on about the back of the jumper. It's tiresome. You think there are 20 companies pushing the door down to give us $2.5m a season? You can sell the BOJ any time but you have to be careful not to discount or damage the MFC brand. If they had leverage to use they would. Sponsors know the start of the season is upon us and will try to use that to their advantage. I for one hope the club doesn't blink and sticks to its guns. Have you ever been in the commercial world?
  8. 1. How would you know that? 2. Kent has a bad habit of going missing, particularly in losses. His best is great but he needs to work on hos fwd pressure for the whole time he is one the ground.
  9. Our AA ruckman was pantsed by by Hickey that kept illegally jumping into him. Unless the umps crack down on that I am happy for Specil to take the centre taps and crunch Hickey.
  10. How is that equal? What bulldust.
  11. Garland sadly hasn't done anything right since 2013.
  12. Membrey is ranked 38th in the league for contested marks in 2016. It puts him ahead of Harry Taylor, Weitering, Rance, Goldstein, Watts etc. Not too shabby.
  13. I went to both games at Etihad last year. I said to myself the second time, I want to see if they learned anything from the first encounter (the one where Lynden Dunn had his papers marked). The answer is they learnt nothing and we were beaten exactly the same way. The most frustrating experience of last year. I will hazard a guess we will get done the same way. I hope not but can see it working out that way.
  14. If you did the schoolyard test and lined them up against a wall to select a team you would take Oliver over Parish every day. They'll both be good players but Oliver does things that most players can't do.
  15. Gee a training thread turning into a Watts bashing forum. Grow up you lot.
  16. Our defence is now our weakest link.
  17. Thanks for that! I can see why they refer to the deep pockets at Subi....
  18. Would like to see a diagram of grounds superimposed over each other.. I understand Subi has deep pockets as well and is less of an 'oval' shape.... 19. That is an insult to the Donald
  20. This stat is a bit misleading. They only score goals 3 ways: turnovers, stoppages and from kick ins. So t/o's will always be a major scoring issue. I confess that I only listened to the apallingly biased commentary on radio but it seemed that many of the turnovers were deep within our forward line. This suggests lack of small forwards and our inability to keep it in there as well as missing targets. We will always have turnovers but we need to be able to shut it down quickly when we do. That seemed to me what was missing. around 72% of their goals started from deep within their defence I believe.
  21. They gave thousands of injections and received rebates from Medicare. I am pretty sure this was canvassed during the hearings and it was a clear scam. Dr Reid raised the issue of Medicare claims. The players testified that this was the case and here, Elliott and Wallis allege it again. So it may be heresay but given the tardiness of worksafe - that didn't even start investigating the matter until 17months AFTER the scandal became public - I am sceptical about government agencies doing their jobs properly when the scandal is a political football
  22. So the latest "bombshell" from Slobbo is that Wallis and Elliott are suing the club. Their evidence includes how the club ripped off the medicare system. It's amazing how in some cases how clear transgressions like the allged abusing of the Medicare rebate for the thousands of injections just simply get ignored. If Worksafe came to my workplace I would be heading to the slammer had I done the same thing as the EFC. Why do authorities look away?
  23. Didn't the Saints have a good draw and a good run with injuries last year? Swings and roundabouts. I reckon they aren't as good as their finish last year suggests....
