It's a dance Gonzo. The sponsors know they'll get a better deal the longer they wait. The club says "here is the deal" take it before someone else does... The club has been good at not discounting its main inventory. Once you do that (as we did in the dark years) its very difficult to get top dollar again.

Will be interesting how they umpire the 'duckers' of WCE..... -
What's happening with Jetta? Is he on the outer as well?

A lot is banking on getting O'Meara on to the park. His best is superb and as a club they were able to get Burgoyne playing quality football after a similar injury to O'Meara. If JOM doesn't play much then the Hawks will slide consierably me thinks.

Not great but a fractured forearm is not the worst injury. He can still maintain fitness and even play with a cast as many others have done. Timing is pretty awful for the guy. I wish him the best as he was looking a lot better in this year's pre-season than he has in past years.

Obviously its conceivable but King as I understand it said they would be the toughest midfield this year didn't he?

Kimberley Kitching is a die hard bomber I believe. And don't forget Lindsay Tanner, current president and ex-ALP polly -
You forgot one of the best, Nigel Lappin. Only one of the above to earn All Australian in their four grand Final years....one of the 'Fab Four' The Dees have done nothing. These guys were out and out champs. This talk is frankly insane. But then it is Kingy

Demons to play 'Fearless Football': Goodwin
jnrmac replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's all well and good. We have played a good brand of footy in the pre-season but as we know when the real stuff starts and we lose some games the pressure comes on. That's when you can tell whether the team will go back to bad old habits or whether the team has genuinely turned the corner in terms of attitude. For years I have been writing about and lamenting our ability to run and spread. This takes confidence and belief in your teamates that they will honour your lead move the ball quickly and follow up with options. We have started that way before and fallen into a heap. I genuinely see this team as different now but will wait til the real stuff starts before believing it has finally changed. -
I get what you are saying.....and then there is James Magner.....

They were fined for cheating the salary cap in 1993 as well. Should have lost the flag then too. -

The DOgs do a lot of their training at the VIS in Footscray. I have been on a tour of the facility and its pretty impressive. Their kicking for goal simulators are first class with the mechanics of each limb movement measured and plotted etc. Wouldn't be surprised if Cloke has spent a lot of time there....

It's pre-season and the speculation about Watts is frankly insane. Up until last year I was no fan of Watts but he rose to a very good level last year and could well do so again this year. If the coaches have an issue with Watts then let them deal with it without ridiculous speculation. It is my experience that the players know exactly what the club expects of them. They get minute level detail. IF Watts was left out for a reason, he and every other player would know why. The club doesn't need to come out and make a statement about it. The fact that other players that did media like Gawn and TMac were asked about it is not like the club 'sending' them out to deal with the Watts' question. Let the coaches do their job.

Thanks for that

Wagner hurt his ankle?? Saying ankle on radio..

Maybe we have poor sales people! Sorry OD but sales people who don't sell always blame something or someone

I'm not so sure about that. Wasn't he the one that kicked the ball from the wing to the centre for a shocking turnover against the Saints (or the Dogs)?
