  1. A bit like Neeld after his first game??
  2. Brayshaw is likely out because he had his wisdom teeth out less than a week ago........
  3. Actually on reviewing the AFL footage he did make contact with his head. You can see it move back just before the body cannoned into Merret's body. Cotchin should have gone for 3 weeks on this basis and as usual it will be the consistency that will determine whether the rules are working or not.
  4. I saw it multiple times and was aghast that he was reported. Yes he chose to bump but I think he was careful not to hit the head. Yet to see vision where he did. Also aghast at the maggot that overturned the decision on Bryce Gibbs from 30m away when Ray Chamberlain had a clear view of Gibbs throwing the bomber player to the ground. The umps haven't covered themselves in glory in the first couple of games. Whats new....
  5. They are clearly our weakest two players (if you ignore Fristch and Maynard who have played one game between them). The fact they play in the same 'line' concerns me no end but how they play will go a fair way to determining whether we win the match.
  6. They are different players indeed which is why I couldn't understand the comparison at first. Tyson can turn the ball over - as he proved in spades in the Collingwood game - but he is good kick on the run and for goal. I think he is a much better kick in general that Wagner. We'll see how the team lines up and what Goody has as his role but I don't rate Wagner at all.
  7. Only if you don't read the post I was responding to.
  8. Maynard's last game was a final for Casey. Justin Plapp's report: Corey Maynard: Corey had 35 disposals, including 27 contested possessions, five marks, 18 clearances, nine inside 50s and five tackles. I can simply say that Corey’s game on the weekend was probably one of the best performances I’ve ever seen at VFL level – in any game. The way he willed himself to generate something from his team – and through critical contests – was outstanding. He also showed his ability to win the contested ball and get the ball going forward for us, highlighted by his clearance work. He had huge numbers – and he was huge for us. He’s a great young leader that’s finding his way. He dug in and did everything he could for his team. I thought he was best-on-ground by a mile. If anyone is wondering why Maynard has been selected I think hardness is one of his key attributes.
  9. Do you think Wagner is a better footballer than Tyson?
  10. WTF? 2 weeks to de-load? You're kidding.
  11. 10 days to de-load? You have to be kidding. I can de-load instaneously. Go on to crutches or wear a boot. Voila. Agree with other time estimates though.
  12. Breaking News: Company acts in its commercial interests. Stop the presses. Burnside is a horrible human being.
  13. OK a little wager. I win and you change your avatar for the first 4 games to my choice. Vica versa
  14. Carey knew how to unite a team. Shaggging your vice captain's missus at a social function is a sure fire way to bring everyone together....
  15. It wasn't. Simple. Which but don't you get? Watts was a bust after 9 yrs and 150 games. He was a disruptive influence both on his own behaviour (rehab, team rules, training habits, after-hours habits and putting his head over the ball/appetite for a contest) and from a media and supporter scrutiny point of view. Elite skills, yes. Elite habits, no. The team could not rely on JW. He was best gone.
  16. Well on some measures we had the worst defence in 2017. Last in defensive one on ones and last for goals scored from opposition entries into our 50m zone. Lever will fix some of that and hopefully OMac and Frost have improved but its still a worry for me. Our zoning wasn't great in 2017 and you would expect that to improve significantly with lever in the side.
  17. There's your problem. Get a Samsung... BTW How do you milk sheep? Relase an iPhone X and charge $1500 for it..... (boom tish)
  18. Viewing audience. Around 90000 on actual race day with maybe 324000 over the weekend. Its stupid that we have to deal with the this for 2 years running. The GP is an expensive event and there would no doubt be some cross-over that means people would choose one or the other. But for us to have a clash two years in succession is appalling scheduling as usual bythe AFL.
  19. And a pleasure it was too!
  20. 931,000 to be exact
  21. And speaking of the fix that is the AFL, we have played Essendon ONCE as the home side since 2005. Huge revenue opportunity that we miss out on. We have played Carlton and Geelong 5 times since 2005 as the HOME team. Massive revenue foregone. Until we start complaining bitterly and relentlessly about the inequities of the draw and the TV coverage we will remain as a 'poorer' club. That's why this deal is so fantastic. And when we are a powerhouse, lets not forget how we were treated.
  22. Not sure about that. I met a guy at training one day who introduced himself as RGRS. Seemed OK! Could have been lying?
