Farewell Jesse Hogan
The more I think about this the more I feel it has been instigated by the club... They approached Jesse and said 'what are your plans going forward? If you are thinking of heading back to Perth it would be better for us to know now as we can do a better deal than in 12m time. Otherwise we will start discussions on a long term deal. We want you but understand you may be torn about staying. We're also planning our list for a tilt at the flag and don't want to disrupt it in 12m time.' Jesse thinks about it. Flys to Perth, His manager chats to the Dockers. And here we are. If so it is probably very smart from our guys.

And he didn't play seniors until 2015....

....but we have already established they are idiots and are just looking for something to fill 500 hours of radio time.

How is Hawthorn managing to look at Shiel AND Wingard?? After bringing in Jaegar and Mitchell? They have no picks to speak of... a lot of players must be taking unders....or have jobs provided by player sponsors etc...They always seem to know how to sail close to the wind on salary and membership issues....

You miss the point. The two are totally unrelated.

On what planet would Gaff base his decision to go to North or stay at WCE based on whether Hogan goes to Freo?

Neither club nor the player has said a thing but the media frenzy has you saying we are past the point of no return? Errr OK...

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I love the way how some who have attacked posters lamenting our weak defence and in fact lauded our back six now think we need to get May and Kolodjashnij. Funny.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I also can't believe we would offer a 1st rounder for May....

Some kind of alternate reality when you get rid of a 23yo KP forward that has proven himself for a 27yo (in Jan 19) overweight full back that doesn't like training and is leaving his club in the lurch as Captain.

We should offer Mrs Hogan a job at the club :)

Lachie Weller was 2 first rd picks. He is a cut above Weller.

This wouldn't apply to a Hogan on a fixed contract. More like an actor, artist or musician that has variable earnings over a 2-3 year period. My real point here is that once tax etc is taken into account the difference between a Melbourne offer of say $1m pa and a Freo at say $1.2m pa is minimised significantly. Some might take the extra $100k a year others might not be swayed by that and all of the pressure it entails when they can stay and likely play finals without any greater pressure than they are under already.... Ultimately if he wants to go home he will but my undertstanding is he like living here and likes the music scene etc. He stays for mine.

Are you a public servant? Welcome to the real world. People pay tax

Farewell Jesse Hogan
The club has to be tight lipped at this time. There is so much garbage being put out there by 'journos' that have to fill column inches. If they responded to every wacky rumour they would need more staff.

When the smoke is the media vultures like McClure, Ralph and co I can ignore it quite easily. @Moonshadow is right though, we'll know soon enough....
