@Bobby McKenzie I have just read every one of @McQueen's posts on the topic. You made this up. In fact he specifically states he does not condone the actions. Best you just withdraw your statement for the fake news it is and apologise to McQueen.

You made the statement that posters were almost condoning the thuggery and I said bull shite. Because it is. No one here has done that.

Seriously, what Bull Shite. Fake news. Name and shame them. I'll wait.

The hysteria over what should happen to Gaff is absurd, Just as it was with Bugg. Appalling hit and will be dealt with harshly, as it should be. Starting point 6 weeks as that is what Bugg got and Mills played the following week. Bugg wasn't looking at Mills when he lashed out whereas Gaff was looking straight at him. nonetheless I don't believe either was intentional and both players have never been suspended before (despite some nuff nuffs here saying Bugg was a "serial offender".) But people make mistakes and that is what this is. A very bad one. He should do the time and that is it. No need to destroy his character. The fallout on bugg in my view was disgraceful largely because he was viewed as a pest and our club abandoned him. Gaff is a golden haired boy so will be interesting to see the comparison from media and club. Posters trying to turn this in to 'he should be charged by the police' , 'society needs to set an example' blah blah and those saying 'he should never come to Melbourne' are making stupid comments. We play a physical sport and players tread a fine line with agression every time they run out onto the track. This incident (as well as Buggs) step well and truly over that line and need to be dealt with harshly, but in the context of a physical contact sport. Finally those saying 'Gaff will need to reconcile with Angus if he comes to melbourne' really need to think before posting. Gaff already plays with Angus' brother Hamish. On the field stuff happens. It doesn't mean its right but get some reality. There are two young men here that will be suffering over this. Clearly most of the sympathy is with a young first year player who has suffered hugely. But lets have some perspective and not forget that Gaff will be remorseful and will suffer long term consequences as well.

Pretty hard to be red carded when the umps didn't see it.

What a troll. Go and 'support' someone else.

Well this is awkward. Gaff should absolutely get 6 weeks - the same as Bugg. It can not possibly be any other sentence. (altho the AFL will find a way). Its an almost identical scenario. And not only that Bugg was pilloried widely including by his own teammates and club, who I think were very poor and unsupportive of Bugg who was repentent and contrite over his actions . Will be interesting what stance the club and media take. Clearly Gaff is not a 'pest' like Bugg, doesn't send out inflammatory Instagram's and is viewed as a ball-playing gun. Watch carefully over the next few days as the full gamut of AFL hypocrisy is on vibrant display. Prepared to be sickened.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Thx that's my understanding

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Has anyone else seen the MRP decision on May? Suspended a week because he it Curnow in the head with his shoulder. What really is bizarre is that Michael Christian when giving his reason said May was allowed to bump because the ball was within 5 meters. Curnow had disposed of the ball and the hit was absolutely late yet according to Christian if the bump had been lower he was well within his rights and would not have been sanctioned. Am I missing something here?

Well done Fonzie, I was w-w-w-wr-wro.........!

The Many Sides of Jake Melksham
His long, low, flat kicks are a delight to watch. Terrific player with great skills. My only (minor) knock is his one on one form where he can try too much to do the body thing rather than just go straight for the ball. Great first goal last week. Beautiful clean pick up and dribble kick on his wrong side. Also very happy that the Bomber wing nuts who used to jump down his throat regularly must now be grinding their teeth at what a weapon he is..for us!

New CEO - Gary Pert
The jungle drums are beating about this... I have some limited experience with Collingwood when Pert was there and its fair to say the view is he is an ordinary bloke and an even more ordinary administrator. I hope I am wrong but I don't feel good about this appointment.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
The were later fined extensively for breaching the salary cap in that year. Another tainted flag.... In 1996, Essendon were fined a record $638,250 ($250,000 in back tax and penalties, $112,000 for draft tampering and $276,250 for breaching the salary cap regulations), forfeited their first, second and third round picks in the National Draft and were excluded from the 1997 rookie and pre-season drafts after a joint Australian Tax Office and AFL investigation found that they had committed serious and systematic breaches of the salary cap regulations totalling $514,500 between 1991 and 1996, including $110,000 in 1993 when Essendon won the premiership No sympathy at all for that rotting stinking carcass of a club.

The stench of drugs will be hanging around Essendon for years. Fantastic. I hate them. As we supporters know, a bad culture tales a long time to change....

Time to show Oscar some respect!
This is just false. No-one said he was a dud and the orginal post was in response to the hyperbole that OMcD "never panics", "will be a gorilla", "will be better than Rance" and said it was "harsh" that he couldn't stop a ball below his knees because it is "oval shaped". If you think the clip above is good defending then it really says it all. He was the last man in the zone and his job is to stop exactly the situation in the clip. He let Smith get goal side and then looked like he was trying to slap him with a wet lettuce. He has a lot of learning to do.

He made 3 errors if you read my previous post. And you would know more than Lyon and Dunstall? You are a joke, So you are now saying that a player doesn't have to tackle or chase someone if it isn't his man? I have heard everything. 'sorry, not my man, I'll just put in some lame-arsed effort and no one will notice"
