  1. I'm looking forward to having a Woewodin at the Melbourne Demons again!
  2. I have a close eye on.... Josh Rentsch GWV Rebels, NAB League / Penshurst FC / Ballarat Grammar State: Victoria (Country) Height: 197cm Weight: 100kg Date of Birth: 14/09/03 Apparently was joint winner of the Morrish Medal. Could be also be available for our 2nd or 3rd pick perhaps?
  3. I think that the top 10 picks are pretty much set for the 2021 AFL National Draft. I have come to the conclusion that I will be happy with any highly talented player within the top 20 to top 25. If we somehow fluke a player from within the top 15 then we should all be very pleased. We should all have faith in Jason Taylor getting the job done!

I understand and I am overjoyed that the Melbourne Demons are 2021 AFL Premiers. However, this matter of a home base for our administration and training is still lingering. Hopefully, we can have some more news at the upcoming Annual General Meeting in regards to the progress of our home base? We cannot rest until this matter is finally rectified.
  5. Fingers crossed this event is still happening? 🤞 I reckon we could basically fill the MCG with Melbourne supporters. Then we could have a party-like atmosphere while we watch replay of the Grand Final and have player medal presentations and various speeches. Get lots of past players involved and make it a huge celebration. Have lots of singing of "Its a Grand Old Flag" as well as dancing too. The main thing I am hopeful of is getting a photo of my Dad and I both holding the 2021 Premiership Cup! That will be an incredible experience. Just gotta hope I don't turn into a blubbering mess when I burst into tears of joy! 😭
  6. It will definitely be interesting to see how we can improve next year. I am mindful that there will be a lot of hungry players wanting more Premiership success. Breaking into the final 22 will be a challenge for those on the periphery. After 57 years of pain and now ending the Premiership drought I think it is time for a flood of Premierships! In 15 years time if we can have bragging rights over the vile scum at Essendon and Carlton with their 16 Premierships then I will certainly be very happy! GO DEMONS!!!
  7. It's still very surreal for me. I can't believe our beloved Melbourne Demons won the 2021 Premiership! After all the years of pain and suffering, since 1964, we finally obtained Premiership glory and broke the drought! This moment will remain one of the happiest in my entire life! GO DEMONS!!!
  8. I am happy to drive with my Dad almost anywhere to get a photo of myself and him holding up the Melbourne Football Club's 13th Premiership Cup. All I ask is that hopefully we can temporarily take off our masks when getting a photo? If that is allowable? It will also be quite difficult to see with the amount of tears of joy in my eyes. This is definitely a memory worth taking a photo of. I just hope I am not too much of a blubbering mess. 😭We have all ridden the ups and downs of almost merging, disappointment, humiliating defeats and frustrating seasons. However, this event has been 57 years in the making! Our first flag since 1964! Now is the time to celebrate our Premiership triumph! GO DEMONS!!!
  9. Walked past the AFL Store and saw this "Deemolition" t-shirt in the window and couldn't resist buying it! Here is an image of what the t-shirt looks like: I love the 1990's retro Demons mascot image. It brings back a lot of fond memories growing up. I used to have the exact same 1990's retro Demons mascot image on a jumper/sweater that I wore as a kid. 😁 GO DEMONS!!!
  10. I'm still keen on Josh Sinn with pick #17 in the 2021 AFL National Draft. Here is his highlights package shown below. However, until it is closer to the Draft at the end of November I really won't know who we will look to pick. Either way, I have faith in Jason Taylor finding another gem for the Demons.

Hahahahaha! Good idea! I probably should! Just not while working! 😂 I just think Mark "Choco" Williams is fantastic. I cannot sing his praises high enough. I was absolutely over the moon when we recruited him as head of our development at the end of last year in 2020. Some people thought he was mad, and maybe he is a little bit, but we have won our first Premiership since 1964 and I believe he had a massively positive influence on our players and it is worth crowing about!
  12. I am willing to pay $20 or even $30 per person to enter the MCG for this Melbourne Demons Premiership celebration event. I am also willing to pay (within reason) to have a photo of me and my Dad holding the 2021 Premiership Cup. That will be an extra special photo and I will probably be crying tears of joy a bit for that photo. 🥲 As long as it is a great spectacle with lots of merchandising and food and entertainment then I can see it as a clever way for the Melbourne Football Club to make quite a bit of profit. After losing money from not having the Northern Territory game at Alice Springs and the Queen's Birthday game at the MCG I think it is paramount that the Melbourne Football Club hosts this event at the MCG and we have as many Demons supporters as possible attend.

I remember that! He was just taking it all in his stride. Everyone jumping around excited and Mark "Choco" Williams was just there with his hands in his jacket pockets chewing his gum. 😁 Mark "Choco" Williams has been absolutely incredible for the Melbourne Football Club. Besides getting Adem "The Difference" Yze as midfield coach I cannot recall one individual having such a profound impact at the Melbourne Football Club as Mark "Choco" Williams has had. I am still hopeful we can get Mark "Choco" Williams on the @Demonland podcast in a few weeks time when Pre-Season training starts? Fingers crossed. 🤞

Absolutely! We MUST re-sign Mark "Choco" Williams! The man is a bit eccentric but he is also a football genius! Plus he knows what it takes to win! I believe he was instrumental in helping the Melbourne Demons win the Premiership this year. I would personally give Mark "Choco" Williams a continuous contract and let him stay with the Melbourne Demons up until when he wants to retire. At the very least I would love to see Mark "Choco" Williams at the Melbourne Demons for another 5 years. He has been recruit of the year for us!
  15. I wouldn't be surprised if the Melbourne Football Club offered him a 5 year contract. Simon Goodwin played a pivotal role in breaking our 57 year drought. We cannot forget this! Especially, when many of us have suffered through many many years of heartache and disappointment. It is time to cash in with sustained success a fresh batch of Premiership Cups to go into the cabinet at the Melbourne Football Club. The world is Simon Goodwin's oyster now. Many of us, if we were allowed to do so, would want to give Simon a massive hug and say thank you for what he has done to bring joy to our lives as Demons supporters. We also need to be mindful that if we don't lock in Simon with a long term contract that the Crows or even Port Power might come sniffing around wanting to snatch him away to help their own teams in South Australia. Let's give Simon as Demons coach the best opportunity to bring about a new Demons Dynasty that will rival the one we had in the 1950s and early 1960s.
  16. Some further good news! Simon Goodwin to be offered a new contract extension to continue as coach of the Melbourne Football Club. As a Premiership coach Simon now holds the upper hand in any contract negotiations. I suspect he will be offered either a 3 to 5 year contract extension by the Melbourne Football Club. Fingers crossed we get a few more Premierships at the Demons while he is coach! Here is the article about it: https://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/afl/afl-fixture-2022-melbourne-primed-for-marquee-time-slots/news-story/3b110fb7514add22a86b6b7d4a79d033
  17. I don't mind the Demons players training while on holidays. They are athletes and professional AFL players that get paid alot more than the average person on the street. Plus routine is definitely important to maintain. All, I ask is that they have a bit of extra time off during the Christmas break to mentally recharge and not think about football for a while. Then come back happy and hungrier than ever to win more Premierships! It's time for a new Demons Dynasty!
  18. Angus Brayshaw is a "heart and soul" type player for the Melbourne Football Club. You cannot put a price on that type of player. His diving mark and goal in the 3rd quarter of the 2021 AFL Grand Final was a huge moment. Even Brisbane Lions legend and triple Premiership player Jonathan Brown applauded Angus' courage with that diving mark. It epitomised the desperation Angus had to do anything to win for the team and how selfless he has become as a player for the Demons. Angus also totally buys into the new "winning culture" of the Melbourne Football Club. Something that took many years to develop and it will now hopefully be entrenched with this crop of Melbourne players who have just won a Premiership and are super hungry for more sustained success. What I loved the most was the post Grand Final interview with Demons great Garry Lyon in the change rooms where he said "our club". That was brilliant. It brought a massive smile to my face when he said that! Angus is Melbourne through and through!
  19. Had an incredible year did big Maxy Gawn. He has to go down as one of the greatest Demons of all time to be a 5 time All Australian. Not only that but also one of the game's greatest Ruckmen. His Preliminary Final match against Geelong with 5 goals (kicking them from everywhere!) was one of the most dominant performances I had ever seen by a Demons player. He was a freak of nature in some of things he was doing! Now he is a Premiership Captain for the Melbourne Football Club. Hope he continues to have an amazing career with many more Premierships for the Demons and ends up playing 250+ games for the Melbourne Football Club.
  20. I am pretty confident that the Demons will take Taj Woewodin as a Father-Son selection in the 2021 AFL National Draft. It is certainly uncanny how much he looks like his Father Shane. From the WA Draft Combine it looks like Taj has a bit of toe on him and is definitely faster than his old man.

Eddie McGuire is definitely a crafty one. They don't call him Eddie "Everywhere" for nothing. I recall we had the opportunity to move to the Olympic Park precinct before even Collingwood wormed their way in there. I think it was when Joseph Gutnick was still Melbourne Football Club President in the early 2000s? We certainly stuffed it up back then. Anyway, that's in the past now. Let's hope Kate Roffey is on the ball and gets this training base for the Demons sorted out and we have some further good news about all of this at the next Melbourne Football Club AGM whenever that will be?
  22. Charlie Spargo had a great season. His footy IQ with ball in hand is brilliant. Always seems to make the right option. The best thing about him is that he plays his role so well in the forward line. Constantly pressuring and helping his team mates. I can see him eventually playing in the midfield if he builds up his engine enough. The only flaw is that you wouldn't want him kicking for goal from over 40 metres away. But as long as he plays to his limitations then he will continue have a long career at the Melbourne Football Club. On ya Charlie! Congratulations on a brilliant 2021 season!
  23. I have no idea why he is called Rick? Something to do with the moustache perhaps? Anyway, I think Jake Lever has been a revelation for us in defence. If it wasn't for Lever and May we would not be a Premiership side. Lever oozes leadership too. I think he could be a future Captain of the Melbourne Football Club.
  24. Not sure if he slips down to pick number #17 in the 2021 AFL National Draft but I am definitely keen on the Demons grabbing Josh Sinn from the Sandringham Dragons. Here is a news story about him: https://www.afl.com.au/news/574499/no1-draft-pick-contender-josh-sinn-piles-on-13kg-in-six-months

Great stuff! I love these little interviews. Very pleasing to hear that James Jordon is hungry for more success and looking forward to getting back to Pre-Season training for Season 2022!
